Dear Mr. Satriani
I just wanted to thank you for your recent concert in Caracas, unfortunately I couldn´t be there because I was in Miami for business trip, but my sister had the pleasure of enjoy the show and met you personally, in fact she has a picture with you and your autograph on her ticket.
Well I hope you come back to Venezuela soon and be lucky enough to get your sign on my brand new Ibanez JS1200 guitar.
Best regards

Good Afternoon Satchland......How Is Everyone ??????
lorenzo001.......Congrats.......a baby boy. Cool ......So you want an American name?.......Ken sounds good to me .....lol......God Bless all of you.
As for the guitar......I got a Carvin DC127C for my 50th. It smokes. It's got 24 stainless steel frets, 14" ridius. Dual Humbuckers with coil tap switch for both pick ups, Floyd Rose. This is a quality guitar for about the same price as the JS1200. I would seriously look into this guitar or the Ibanez Jem.

Skippygirl - Joe has posted here in the past to tell us to update our setlists, so it's safe to say he looks at the choices of satriani.com members as a whole.
It's great that Joe does that, but I think the process is a bit flawed (ugh, I know I'm being picky). I'd love to see the stats, though, because I love stuff like that.
There are 100,000+ members here, and I bet a great deal of them haven't visited the site in years. It's probably safe to say that only a small percentage fo them have actually filled out their setlists, but those who have likely haven't changed them since they were first created. So not only will they be missing songs from Joe's newest albums, but they'll make it look like everyone wants the same songs in the set each tour. I love Summer Song, but after hearing it at a dozen shows I'm OK with it not being there...you know?
I don't want to sound like I'm complaining, because I'm really fine with anything Joe plays...but man it'd be cool to hear things like Slick and Champagne?...
To answer your other question, I play bass but I've never been in a band. It's a bit misleading to say I've been playing for nine years. I've been playing fairly regularly for the past few months, but for a few years prior to that I was so busy with school and work and stuff that I hardly ever had time to play. I love it though...I wish I knew some local people who were into the music I am...
It's cool to hear that your friend is a journalist. I'm not too into the reporting side of things right now (at the moment I'm fine being a copy editor), but if I started reporting I think it'd be fun to do something like what you described. That's a bit of a funny story about what happened in Beijing...but in all seriousness I hope he's OK. :-)
Blue_Moon - "The new Internet explorer is jsut not as fast as firefox"
Hahaha...I could've told you that before you downloaded it. ;-) Are you still using IE, or have you gone back to Firefox?
michelle - I think it's pretty lame that Obama went with an older guy to get votes from the right and McCain went with a younger woman to get votes from the left. McCain's choice really came out of nowhere, so I think Obama has an obvious advantage.
I won't be voting for either of them, though...
Guitarman77897 - Joe choses a setlist at the beginning of each tour and he generally sticks with it. He might change a song or two during the first few shows, generally getting rid of something unusual/rare for something safe. If he does make a more radical change it'll usually come at the beginning of a tour leg...but things are usually pretty set.
Listening to: Joe Satriani - S.M.F.
I haven't listened to this one in quite a while, so I'm declaring it the song of the day. Everyone give it a listen...
...Austin...

Hello Joe,
How are you doing?
Have you ever think about a G3 concert with a fan on the guitar?
That would be cool...maybe you can find the fan by a contest on the web or something like that...or a competition like an "American Idol" tv show with guitar players and the winner play with you and another guitar player in a concert.
What do you think?
Nice to meet you here in Brazil (i´m the one who made your drawing in Belo Horizonte)
Peace,
Ricardo Bello

Blue Moon - ah, that's cool then, the flight price be good. Hate you to spend yer drinkin' money!
Do The Stu - before you mentioned the request from Joe for a title, I'd always assumed they just went with the publishing company name, I didn't know there'd been any other option. Cool to think Joe asked for that much involvement
Roo - it was about JS3's etc, but maybe it's one for email instead as I know what it can be like discussing rare guitars on an open forum. Like the G3 idol idea, cool!
nickguitarmeistro - ah thanks cool, I've been waiting for it, but having seen that Vai gemini demo I'm a little bit torn, but pretty certain I'll go with the Satchurator. You having fun with it? How's the more switch?

I have never put a set list together before on this site. Maybe this weekend I will find some time and get one together. I would have a hard time cutting it down to smoething realistic, but I guess the focus would be around 20 songs? Hmmm...guess I have to listen to some Satch now! What a shame

Barrack Hussein Obama has served like 143 days in the senate and that makes him qualified to be president. He hasn't said one thing that inspires me. If we could follow the money , we would see who is behind him.
McCain is to liberal for me but he doesn't HOPE to CHANGE something. I personally will feel safer with McCain as commander of the military.
The democrats have been running the house and senate for two years and you can see how bad some things have become. Don't blame the President , he has no power left...
Vote republican!

Hi to all. My last post here was on Aug 1, Friday. Numerous things happened since then. Long post warning
We're in the process of buying a new home, it'll still be about a month before we're able to move in. However my lovely wife decided to put our "old" home in the rental market, because she thought it would take a while to find a rentor (she first had said she didn't want to be stuck paying 2 mortgages, but now she's conveniently forgotten this reason).
So on Aug 2 we get a call, a rentor has been found and they want our house by Aug 5, because they needed to get out of their current home. We had to pack everything up and move in 2 f-in days, had to rent a warehouse for the big stuff, and fill the cars with the smaller everyday junk and clothes. We stayed with my inlaws for a week and then moved to my sister-in-law's house, where we had no phone until this week. Incommunicado!!
To make it more interesting, my sister-in-law just had a baby girl, so they moved with my inlaws to take better care of them. But they are coming back over here this weekend, so for the next month my wife, son and I will be crammed in a small room, sleeping on one of those futon mattresses and waking up every 3 hours when the baby cries. And this is IF they give us the house within a month, with all the paperwork that needs to be processed it does not look good.
Yes there are worse things in life than this, but that doesn't mean that this is OK. It sucks. At least now I have Internet access again, so I'll be catching up with all the happenings from last month. Later!
