Hey Joe - I wanted to tell you about a band that you have to hear from France called Morglbl. They would be a great addition to your next G3 tour. They are a 3 piece and each guy is extremely talented. The guitar player is Christophe Godin and he RIPS on guitar. Their style is a mix of rock, fusion, jazz, funk and whatever else you can think of. They are also very entertaining live. I saw them earlier this year at the North East Art Rock Festival (NEARFest) and they were the hit of the weekend. I think your fans would like this band. Here's a link for more info if you want to see/hear more:
http://www.myspace.com/morglbl
Sorry if this sounds like a sales pitch - that's really not the intent and I am not in any way associated with this band, it's just these guys are really good and I could see them opening for G3.
Thanks for all the great music over the years! I'll see you when you come to Baltimore in October!
T. R.

Big Bad Moon, 1992 Oh, and before anyone asks, yes, Joe said he still has that jacket, AND it still fits. We must all hate him fer that :)
Hi Civ...I'm still here. You heading for the Reno show, or San Fran? We'll be at both.
Yes Dave, and Jamie...aftershow passes are drawn 3 days before each show. They used to draw 3 names...now it's one, so make sure you're registered as attending.
Happy first day of school to all the kids out there. I know I'm wierd, but I used to just love the first day of school, and could barely sleep from excitement the night before.
I know I'm missing stuff from posts, really sorry about that.
PS, potential tab book for PSATMOR here....however, I wouldn't hold my breath that it will release 9-24-08....prolly a month or two later I'm thinking.....but it looks like it's coming!!

Hello to all
I just saw the podcast of u guys in Spain. That Cathedral or whatever it was, was magnificant, and the promoter there looked like a good guy as well :)))). If you could provide a little info on the place it would be appreciated. Despite the beauty of the place I could see that touring becomes pretty much a monotonous grind, anyway thanks for all the music.
Ive just purchased a mini colossal on eBay so I'm looking forward to it arriving I dont have an amp at the moment, and I cant really have a 120w monster head here at my Mum's house so this looks like the perfect solution.
I hope all the staff and members of the band are ok, and Stu Ham, I think if you want to show of that tat on your foot your going to have to go on stage barefoot lol.
All the best Peter Martin
Technical Issues
Ive just been practising Harmonized Scales, the Harmonys sound odd if you practice them in a mechanical manner, but if you can use them with improv they add so much color to what your doing. Slowly they are starting to creep into my play, and its opening up all sorts of new possibilities. The only problem is remembering where they all are :)). Say that your playing harmonized 4th's if you can work out where all the 4ths are in each mode youve got it pretty much wired, its a lot of work but well worth the effort.
bye for now.

That is very cool, But I think it would be more impressive to use his slide as a harmonica!
Roo is a useless guitarist, don't worry, I won't be in the running for the "find the next G3 player" contest.
But I LOVE playing music! It is sooooooo much fun!
Hey Joe.. Seeing my kids enjoy music too, and my little boy ripping the fretboard at 7, I'd like to find out how we could get some of the "little kids rock" initiative going in Australia? I don't know who to talk to, but I'd do what I can to talk to people and coordinate things? I think it's a great initiative and would be honoured to help kids get the chance to play...
I'm going to have a look into it.
Roo

Hey peeps, the famous "Leyendas de la Guitarra" Sevilla Expo'92, didn't take place in 1992.
The exact day was October 19th 1991, and unfortunately I cannot say that was the day I discovered Joe for the first time, because it was broadcasted on the spanish TV some days later, I guess, and I don't know how many.
Edit: someone in the internet says it was brodcasted live...therefore thats the day he absolutely caught me with AWMAWY....and when Joe says now he's a bad singer, I don't remember having this idea when I first heard Big Bad Moon

Jerry Reed was also a huge influence on Eric Johnson. EJ's Tribute To Jerry Reed is on his album Bloom...give it a listen.
nandallica - Welcome to the site...I was at the Satch / Deep Purple show in Los Angeles too. It was great to see them jam together...
ibanezguitars - I like Joe's singing voice a lot, but only when he SINGS. I don't like the bit of a growl he's developed over the past few years. But there's an honesty in his voice in something like I Believe that to me is completely missing when he sings Rockin' In The Free World, for example.
But Joe likes the newer vocal style, as far as I can tell...argh. ;-)

messsage to Joe. i knew since a couple of months that you were a great guitarist cause i saw your name everywhere on the net. But i just decided this week to buy my first album of yours : surfing with the alien. i must say that i really like it. Ice 9 is fantastic and the rythme riff is awesome, i want to learn it and i will. Sometime your music reminds me of Steve Hackett and Mike Oldfield. Like them you do not sound like others, you have your own originality. Thanks and by the way i will see you soon in Montreal in concert in october. Your bless to play like that.

ProfQuigaliquious - Joe's (or the webmaster's) grammar may be slipping, but then so is your spelling. ;-)
Seriously, though, I've seen that note on the home page for as long as it's been there and I never noticed the typo. Funny how the mind can skip over mistakes like that...haha.

Hi Cluster-One, nice message.
I know the T2Jers will know who this guy is - who is he???? He is fantastic, he makes it looks so easy just like Joe. I've had If I Could Fly on 100% rotation for the last 3 days after I saw this vid.
