Slan, I do believe, as good as JFK was, he might have been dipping his pen in ol' Marilyn Monroe...though there were no stains on her dress to prove it. lol!
As for Bush having to deal with a diffucult 8 years with all the stuff that has gone on... It's not what has happened that is what made it so hard for Americans, it's how that assclown had dealt with it (or dealt with it after it was to late) that brings out the elephant dong for the US people. I don't dislike anybody because it's the cool thing to do. That's retarded. I dislike Bush because he's a straight up idiot.
All the news channels are saying how McCain didn't look at Obama even ONE time through the entire debate. They also mentioned that as the debate went on, McCain got testier and testier, and had a stupid grin/grimace on his face. Now how the hell is that going to go over when he's sitting face to face with a world leader we have strained relations with (because of Bush). If he starts treating them harshly, he's gonna piss them off and that will be the end of it. Then he has Palin backing him up talking like she's in a private conversation (i.e. Putin rearing his head). Geez! It's a feckin disaster waiting to happen with those two.
Anyways, I just heard... R.I.P. Paul Newman. He just passed away at 83 from cancer.
The news is playing George Bush's radio address. He has 115 days left in office, and it just now seems like his 8 year sleeping pill is wearing off. Again, to little, to late.

Rest in peace Cool Hand Luke...
A little over a week until the Joe Show in Minneapolis. Getting pretty excited. Have'nt seen Joe since the SBM tour.
I noticed that the political discussions are perking up in here... I can only say, that living in the extreme northern part of the USA. The general consensus is that those of us who hunt and fish, and a lot of us hunt and fish to put food on our tables, are not thrilled at he prospect of Barack being the next president. He is notoriously anti-gun. And unfortunately, just like any politician, democrat or republican, will bow to the radical environmentalists (Sierra Club) who want to take our hunting and fishing rights away from all of us. There I said it...lol...I'm done. ;)

Dave, go to BarackObama.com and read what he thinks about the issues instead of rumors made up by haters.
Sportsmen:
Barack Obama did not grow up hunting and fishing, but he recognizes the great conservation legacy of America's hunters and anglers and has great respect for the passion that hunters and anglers have for their sport. Were it not for America's hunters and anglers, including the great icons like Theodore Roosevelt and Aldo Leopold, our nation would not have the tradition of sound game management, a system of ethical, science-based game laws and an extensive public lands estate on which to pursue the sport. Barack Obama and Joe Biden recognize that we must forge a broad coalition if we are to address the great conservation challenges we face. America's hunters and anglers are a key constituency that must take an active role and have a powerful voice in this coalition.
Barack Obama.com
He has said that his GUN CONTROL is going to be to put in place better laws for gun sales on weapons like semi-automatic weapons, and the crack down on people who are caught buying guns for thugs and gangs. He wants to get weapons out of the hands of gangs and criminals so more stuff like THIS doesn't happen. He HAS NO PROBLEM WITH HUNTERS! This is the rumor from the likes of the NRA.
I'm glad you said it. Discussing these issues are how people learn what the deal is.

Markk - I couldn't agree more. This is not the place for political debates...that's why I talk very little about it and I don't throw my party views at anyone. In fact, I don't even do that with my closest friends. Usually leads to bad discussions that are solely based on opinion. there is never a right or a wrong with an opinion.
Do the Stu - sorry to hear about your sore throat. I have been dealing with the sore throat and head congestion for a week now. Very frustrating! Sorry for calling you DTS...it was very late last night and I was pretty tired. I was just mulling over the debate and thought I would put that little "opinion" post out there. =) Hope you get feeling better. By the way, my harmonics are getting there. Finding them on the frets has become pretty easy. What I am struggling with now is getting my thumb to hit the string the right way every time I try. After the debate last night I watched the first half of Satch Live in San Fran. That's always good. Takes my mind off the more depressing news.
Michelle - When you called Bush an assclown...I actually laughed outloud. That was pretty darn funny. But putting all politics aside, we should focus on the more important things. We have lost another great person today. Paul Newman is gone. Life is way too short to stay stressed over things we have zero control over.
Keneiko - I did catch the post. Sorry about that. Got caught up in less important things. what kind of amp do you have it rigged with? that head is pretty expensive. Is it worth all the money? that's awesome you got that to a show for Joe so sign. I'm not sure I would ever use it again after that. LOL. If I ever get the chance to meet Joe, I will certainly bring something to sign that I wouldn't have too. It would sure be a dream come true. ,Do you have any Youtube pots playing with the JSX head?
BTW, I loved the pic of Satch and Sammy! I can't wait for this album to hit the stores!

hybes, I call 'em as I see 'em. LOL! Glad I could make you laugh. I understand your point, but I have to disagree about "other things that are more important". Honey, this is our future. Things have to start turning around because we're in deep trouble right now. I'll try to restrain myself (get the restraints!) as much as possible, but NOW is the time to discuss and learn. Only 37 days until the election. October 6th is the last day to register to vote.

Just to clarify my earlier comment...when I said some people think it's cool to hate Bush, I was generally talking about people my age I'd come across at school. I wasn't talking about anyone here...
Aaand, an unrelated YouTube question. Does anyone know if there's a way to set YouTube so it doesn't start playing videos automatically? I have DSL, but I'm usually always uploading/downloading stuff so my connection is pretty busy. I'd rather wait a few seconds and watch a video all the way through instead of starting it immediately and having it hiccup along.
lorenzo001 - Thanks for the Vital Techtones link... :-)

Hey guys, I was watching G3 live in tokyo now, and remembered Joe has this awesome red/blue amoeba guitar with the headstock also painted. What's the story on that one Joe, or anyone else know? It looks like a it's out of the custom shop, with the inset on the 21st/22nd fret. Who painted it?
Thanks,
Roo

Hey guys,
I was putting some more tour dates in and stumbled on this gem about the new supergroup.
It was in a link from the 2004 is there love in space special radio promos tour archive page: http://www.satriani.com/road/ITLIS-promo.shtml
to an article back in 2004 published in the San Francisco Chronicle (actually a pretty cool little article).
"Another track on the new album also turned out to be a first-take keeper, "Up in Flames," a piece originally intended for a super-group called Planet Us that was on the drawing boards with Sammy Hagar, who instead decided to rejoin Van Halen. "That was the take that had the grease on it," says Satriani. "It was undisciplined, but it sounded right to my ears. I picked up the guitar, did one pass and I thought, 'This was cool.' But that doesn't mean there weren't some songs I played a million times until I got them right.
"Planet us" - could it be?
