All ya need is a belly for the tele!! Ya Baby! That's just awesome! Yes, that cat was actually very freaky.

So has anyone listened to the new single by Honeymoon Suite? Anyone even remember that group? I acually like this new song. It has some good tone to it.

Last night I was thinking about tone and some of my favorite tone on different records. ITLIS is in my top 3 Joe records, but it never seems to get a lot of attention. I LOVE The tone on that one. Van Halen's For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge and Balance are 2 of my favorite tones from them. Although, what originally got me interested in a Steinberger was the trans trem effect that Eddie used on Get Up and Summer Nights.

Anyone know what amp or effects Joe used on ITLIS? Does anyone here own a JSX and what do you tihnk of it?

Former VAN HALEN bassist Michael Anthony has issued the following update:

"Hey everyone, just wanted to give all of you a little update on the CHICKENFOOT project. First of all you can all rest assured that our name will not be Chickenfoot, but I guess we have to call it something for now!! I just got back last Wed. from a week and a half of recording with Sam (Hagar), Joe (Satriani), and Chad (Smith), and all I can say is....F___K, the shit is ROCKIN!!!! Andy Johns is in the studio with us, and it's sounding BIG!!! I know Sammy got bashed a bit for supposedly comparing this to ZEP in the press..( I'm sure if he made any references,it's just because of how excited we all are about how it is coming along. You all know Sammy!! This definitely has the energy of an early Zep or VH for that matter...) NOBODY will be dissappointed!! We have nine basic tracks recorded, and after Sammy and Joe finish up some touring commitments we will be back in the studio to finish this up!! Be patient, I'll update again soon. We can't wait to get this thing out, so we can bash it up HARD with all of you!!!!"

Good Morning Satchland.....How Is Everyone?

mari..... I'm soooooooo happy for you. God Bless both of you.

hybes..... I have JSX head. It's the best sounding amp I've ever owned. I get a lot of compliments on my live sound with the band. You can play anything with this amp. Blues,Rock,Metal you name it, it's in there. The Clean channel will not break up no matter how hard you hit. The Crunch and Ultra channels says it all. There's about a 6db boost from the Ultra over the Crunch. There's a line out for direct recording or feeding the house PA. Effect sends and return with level controls. Tube biasing from the back panel. Also, you have a choice to switch between EL34's or 6L6's. The tonal possibilities from this amp is endless.

Band update..... The band is on fire and we're starting to gig a lot and getting our name out there. The demo recording is in the completion stages and I just recorded my guitar tracks to "I know a Little" and should have this and others up on my space in couple of weeks. Best move I've made was to audition for this band. I'm having the time of my life and I'm lovin' it. I'll let you guys know when the songs are up.

Have A Great Day Everyone !!!!!

RAAN - Happy birthday!

Sixnickells - Awesome...enjoy the show in Reno! I'll be there too, with my dad and brother...section C, row 7, seats 12-14.

I don't think One Robot's Dream is in the setlist, but FIABD and Time Machine are.

lazermario - Welcome back...what's been keeping you so busy?
hybes - So I was at the gym the other night, listening to Collective Soul's Disciplined Breakdown and then Rush's Signals on my MP3 player up until my battery died (on the song Losing It, if you can believe that...haha).

Anyway, I finished my workout listening to whatever satellite radio or muzak they have playing there...they usually play lame pop/top 40 stuff, but they had some 90s rock thing going on this time.

They played Candlebox's You...it's been years since I've heard it, but I absolutely remember it. I looked them up online and I remember Far Behind as well. So I'll be buying their selftitled album next time I'm at a music store...

And to answer your Satch question, I think ITLIS? was recorded with some JSX prototypes...I'm not entirely sure on that, though. That's one of my favorite Satch albums (it was No. 1 until PSATMOR, and it's too eary to tell if it'll top ITLIS?...I don't think it will, though).

D_O_M - Awesome...thanks for that update. I am PSYCHED about this project.
Keniko - It's good to hear that you're recording with the band now...I can't wait to hear it.
Listening to: The Black Crowes - By Your Side (current song: Go Tell The Congregation)

I know the holiday is still three months away, but I say it's time to talk about Christmas albums...that way we have plenty of time to buy any recommendations and listen to them well before the holiday.

I assume everyone has Merry Axemas I and Merry Axemas II. If you don't have them, buy them now...you have no excuses. If you do have them, here's a trivia question: Who is the only musician to appear on both albums?

Steve Lukather's Santamental is another good album for instrumental guitar fans, and then Gary Hoey's Christmas collection is a must-have as well.

Branching out a bit, Jordan Rudess of Dream Theater has a cool solo piano album, Christmas Sky. And Bela Fleck & The Flecktones are releasing a Christmas album, Jingle All The Way, next week...I listened to some clips and it sounds pretty cool.

What are everyone else's favorites?

RAAN - Did your parents already buy you a bass, or did they say they'll buy you one? Sorry, I don't know if you're asking for pointers on what to buy, or on how to approach playing... ;-)

If you already have it, what brand did you get? If not, what style of music do you like to play most?

gotta have Joe - Congrats! :-)

I think I owe you an email...sorry, I've been busy lately.

matt king - Hi...how's the band doing?
