Sulldog and Lawl - come on you have to give us more than that!!!!!!! How was it, what was great, what did you see, how was the crowd??????

ZuperDave - hang in there, you'll be right, something will happen. Alot of layoffs in Australia too, hope everyone can get through this bad patch.

And I know I'm not the oldest, in fact alot of people my age (40's).

My hubby and a group of his mates called "The Full Monties" is doing the Melbourne "round the bay in a day" bike ride this Sunday -250km. There will be lots of sore botties and massages all round.

Listening....La Grange, G3 Tokyo what a ripper of a performance

Just heard Surfing... for the first time through quality speakers. Never appreciated what an ace tone Joe has on the bass. As a bass player myself, I want to know what that setup was.

Blue_Moon - (I'm putting this up top so you don't miss it) Yes, I can definitely give you a ride to Reno on the 14th. You'll be in San Francisco, right?

I have more details and a few questions, but I'll send you an email so I don't clutter up the board.

ZuperDave - I'm sorry to hear about your job...how long did you work there? And what were you doing (what industry)?
maritime - That Steve Morse book sounds very cool...thanks for posting something about it. I'll have to check it out for sure.

Onto another guitarist...what's a good Jan Akkerman album to get? I have to admit all I really know about him is that he was in Focus, and the only song of theirs I know is Hocus Pocus. Is the live album you just mentioned a good one to start with?

mikesb / slanshroom - I bought Friday Night In San Francisco a few years ago because some people here recommended it. Who knows, it may have been the two of you. ;-) But I agree...it's an excellent album.
Zinc Master - Interesting...I checked a few days ago but didn't see anything.

Still, I don't think I'll believe it until after I've listened to it. ;-)

hybes - Awesome...thanks for the Satch video!
Glitz Man - The fires this year aren't as bad as last year's were, but they're still pretty crazy. And last year's werent as bad as in 2003, when fires burned an area larger than Rhode Island.

They really do make life difficult, but the earth needs them...just like hurricanes and earthquakes and everything else. It blows my mind to think about the scale of all that sometimes...

michelle - Thanks for that 401Keg plan post, haha...it's great.
I'm not listening to anything at the moment, but earlier tonight (and last night, too) I was listening to a lot of random DLR-era Van Halen...good stuff, even if it isn't among my favorite stuff that VH has done.

...Austin...

Does anyone think with Joe posting that video that the DVD may be nearing its final production stages? Maybe a xmas release time? That would really top off Christmas!

Out of the Set List

More info on GNR - I am a casual fan, but would be nice to hear it - I just hope it is good and worth the wait.

From Best Buy, here is the track list for "Chinese Democracy":

"Chinese Democracy" "Scraped" "Shackler's Revenge" "Street Of Dreams" "If The World" "Better" "This I Love" "There Was A Time" "Riad N' The Bedovins" "Sorry" "I.R.S." "Catcher" "Madagascar" "Prostitute"

Here is the website to see the set list and pre-order the new GNR.

Now here's something that has confused me for a long time but never bothered taking the time to find an answer. Peraps some knowledgable people here can help out.

There are some cds that cost so much more for some reason. Take some of Joe's. There is a cd of PSATMOR that is around 14 dollars and then there's one that's somewhere in the neighborhood of 36 dollars or more. What is the reason for that? I think there is even a version of a G3 that is over 60 dollars. Is it made in a European or Asian format or is there something different about the compression?

Thanks.

Zen good luck with the meniscus... If you have arthroscopic surgery PLEASE use crutches for the first 24-48 hours. My wife did NOT and her issue did not heal properly. While still under the effect of very strong painkillers she mistakenly thought she was not feeling any discomfort and did many up/down stairs without using crutches or support, very bad idea....
