Yay.. Sort of.... :)

Got the tour maps sort of running, there's a few bugs and a lot of gig venues are not geo-coded yet. And a lot of gigs aren't entered either (I'm only human!).

Here's a beta: http://roo.emu.id.au/newsatch/?q=node/384

There's a few glitches, like the lines don't update if the map isn't in the correct place or zoom, I think it's a bug with the mapper widget. But you can click on the alpha in the list next to a venue to zoom in to the venue.

Isn't the interweb a wonderful place?

Roo

PS. Hey, have you guys seen Photosynth? MS was working on it for a while, I've been tracking for a year or more, and it was released now a few months ago. It's sorta like an online photo album, but they auto calculate where you were standing and the 3d model of what you photographed and give you a fly-through photo album. It's pretty cool.

They are even looking at things like auto detecting the subject of your photo, so imagine you take a photo of a statue whilst touring and loading it in to your photo album. Then, not only can you fly around it, but it has links to show you the artist, the history of it, when it was made, etc. All automatically! Very cool.

So the next mash up is everyone posts all the photos of joe at each venue and you get a 3d model I can link to! LOL!

I also just hacked in an attendance and gig review link back to satriani.com from the gigs.

Here's an example: http://roo.emu.id.au/newsatch/?q=node/23

It's amazing what you can do now with a few lines of code.

I have only put the gig link on that gig. All I have to do to connect others is enter the gig ID for each one and the links will display themselves.

Thanks Igneousiceman.

I just want to do whatever I can to help drive interest in Joe's Music. I think Joe is just so brilliant with Music and a genuinely nice guy.

Not sure about the psychotic robot that's started following him around lately though.... He worries me a bit.

Interesting about the concept of interplay between tempo and key... Hmmm. I wonder if we look at some of the worst songs of history if they would have done better in a different key or tempo?

LOL

Someone said this in comments to a "Ten Words" cover: hello gkwaka i must say thats the best cover of joe satriani song. hell sometimes it even sounds better than joe satriani himself. playing fast is a established fashion among guitarists now-a-days. i really appreciate your effort towards emotional richness. by the way you've got nice gears too.

xD

It not even 10 times as good as you Satch

You just play it wonderful!

Thanks for such a happy/sad song. It made me cry the first time i heard it. It still does some times! I am wondering about one thing! How is it possible to make a song that makes you sad and happy at the same time? :O

Thats just amazing Your wonderful Satch

PS: That song helps me when im feeling sad. I always hear it when i am sad, then it makes me happy again. I just dont know why

You must be the god of guitar music!

------------------------

Heres a little thing i made

Jimi Hendrix was the best guitarist, emotionally

Steve Vai is the best guitarist, techniqually

But Satch is the best, if you compare those two things!

Guitar + Emotion + Technique = Joe Satriani

That must mean. that Satch is the best guitarist, the world has ever seen!

But you Satch. You are the best if you compare those two things!

That must mean. You are the worlds best guitarist!

I saw Led Zepagain last night...this was definitely one of the better shows of theirs I've seen.

They played a lot of lesser known stuff, like Hots On For Nowhere, I'm Gonna Crawl, The Rover and In The Evening. I loved it.

A Rolling Stones tribute band opened, but, to be honest, I didn't like them very much. I love the Stones, but I only have a few of their albums. They played for half an hour or so and only stuck to things that have been played on the radio a million times. With a band like that I guess that's mainly what the crowd wants to hear, but it would've been cool to hear them do a less common song or three like Led Zepagain.

iratum - Welcome to the site...I hope you enjoy the show. Have you or your family seen Satch before?
thebadger1848 - Joe's wife is Rubina. They have a son, Z.Z.
guitarpickinson - "posted the other day and just checked in to see if i had any responce- ...... hmmm"

Why the hmmm? You got at least one reply, from me...

Railton - Yeah, Joe has sang maybe a dozen songs or so.

Get the Flying In A Blue Dream album...there are six vocal songs there. Other than that there's a song on Time Machine, another on JS95, two on ITLIS?, and then the stuff he's sung on the different G3 albums.

Listening to: Sigur Ros - ( ) (current song: Untitled 5)

not that anyone on here seems to care, but since I do...

Today, family members for Barker and Goldstein released a shared statement:

"Both Travis Barker and Adam Goldstein (DJ AM) are currently being treated for second and third degree burns. Barker suffered from burns on his torso and lower body and Goldstein suffered from burns on his arm and a portion of his head," according to the statement. "Since both Barker and Goldstein are in overall good health and didn't suffer from any other crash-related complications, a full recovery is expected."

Hi All:

Don't know where else to ask this, but I have a question about the meet 'n greets. My son will be attending in Calgary and would like to have Joe sign his guitar. WIll he be able to bring the guitar into the venue and have Joe sign it? (I'll be able to take it and keep it safe after the meet 'n greet and before the show. Just wondering if a guitar signature is possible. Thanks for any help.

I got a Satchurator!!!!!!!!!!!!! but i only got to play it for a half hour and can't play again until christmas :((((( Hybes what do you mean pushed back again? it's already out, unless you don't live in the US or something.

Lorenze001-The fundamentals of our economy are strong.....Mcain doesn't even kno what he is talking about. and he had two stories set up for when barack went to visit troops, if he went Mcain said he is only going so people would vote for him, if he didn't go, he says Obama won't even visit troops, so Barack went but not on camera, so mcain couldn't ruin him. I am all for Obama.

Wasp2020-is this the same wasp2020 on youtube that I watch all the time, you have the best Satch vids. were you at any of those shows?

Railton-the Flying in a blue dream album had quite a few songs with vocals, that Big Bad Moon vid that Ibanezguitars posted is one on FIABD album i think, But Joe with a beard is kinda creepy. Sorry Joe don;t like the beard =D

I WANT TO PLAY MY SATCHURATOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it;s soo cool!

All for now L8R >.<

Hey there, Hi there, Ho there,

I hope all's well with everone in the Realm of Satch.... Sorry I've not been by. I keep thinking I'll have time once I stop by but then life has other things in store for me. All GOOD stuff!

I can't believe it's 7 days till my wedding! Wow... We're still working on the Wedding setlist, that's a tough but fun thing. Everyting's in order just finalizing the details....final count is due tomorrow and seating arrangements due Wed. Steven's been such a big help, I have so much going on....

My condo is up for sale and today a perosn came by for the 2nd time to show my place to his fam. My neighbor also wants to buy it and I'm told there's a 3rd person interested in putting in a bid. I had a job interview the 8th of this month, it went really well, I feel a bit rusty tho. We'll see....they don't have a time frame, having a new machine installed & construction hasn't started yet.....looking at 6 months or so. But that's ok if I know I have it.... I can wait that long if I have too. Once I get back from honeymoon I'll focus on the job hunt.

It looks like I may have to miss JOe this tour.....I hope not. I don't even know what day we're getting back to the states. I know he's in Boston on the 14th and I think we arrive that day......my "travel Agent" got my ittinerary and left for her vacation, she's a friend but I'll probably not use her again. I was thinking of staying an extra day in Rome but I can't do that either. Oh well, just have to go back to Italy.... Hopefully I can see JOe in Jersey, I'm going to try my best! ;-)

I miss you guys...... I hope to pop in Tuesday, I'm calling out sick. I have too much to do to get ready!! LOrd give me strength.

Peace. Mari

Hi everybody! Eric Caudieux here, I am doing my annual "spring" cleaning in the studio, and a few pieces of gear that were used on Joe's "Engines of Creations" (as well as other records of his) are up for grabs on Ebay. So, I was thinking, with Joe's blessing of course, that the fans, the ones reading the "talk to Joe" page should have the opportunity to get the actual gear used on his records (beside the fact that it is great gear!). If interested, please check Ebay with the following search: "Palmer PGA-04 Speaker Simulator With Load Box" and then check my other items (Kruzweil K2000RS, JD-990, Dynamite Compressor etc...).

Soon Joe will be back on the road, so let's all shave our heads and go see him. And truly, all of us should petition for Galen to shave his own head!!! Anybody with me? He'd look awesome... ;) We will work on Stu next... Don't tell him yet.

Hope all of you guys are doing great and keeping the music alive! I'll come back and check on you regarding Galen in a few days!!!

Eric
