Hey Joe....
Thanks for an awesome time last night at the meet & greet. One of the best times I have had, especially to meet one of my favorite guitar players. Thank you for putting us at ease. I was a little nervous at first, so I kinda stumbled through my first question a little bit....which happend to be the first question.....lol. Too bad my idea would probably never happend, but after your explanation, it makes more since why now....especially when I think about it a bit more.
Getting introduced to you and your music has been one of the best 'Fortunate accidents' that have happend to me about 21 years ago. I was going to use the phrase 'happy accident', but I think that may be misinterpretted....lol.
After reading many interviews, I knew that you were a decent guy and saavy musician. That even learning from afar, I could pick up a lot from you. Last night completely verified all that I figured out from all the interviews. It was nice and inciteful to hear your thoughts on the topics discussed. I went into without any preconceived notions on how you would respond to our questions, for the most part, and am glad you are willing to be candid enough to share them with us. It only grew my respect for you and everything you do for us.
I hope you will continue to play Richmond, Va in the future. Or atleast play nearby.
For all you Richmonders who didn't go to the meet & greet, you MISSED out since there were only 8 of us there, we got more of a personal experience in talking with Joe. He could completely answer our questions and not be rushed in doing so. It was great.
Makes me value even more all the CD and tab books that I buy of Joe's stuff..... and now I have signatures on my 'Not of this Earth' cd and Legacy 'Surfin'....Yeah!
Your the best...and you ROCK!....
Thanks much again for your time and the opportunity to be able to sit with you and talk..... especially now when the demands for your time are even greater than ever.
THANK YOU!!
Talk to you LAter,
Tim

awwww ....come on you never heard the moon was made of cheese?????
primus sails the seas of cheese.
why is it when something is cheap it is considered cheesy???
Look
I understand too little too late
I realize there are things you say and do
You can never take back
But what would you be if you didn't even try
You have to try
So after a lot of thought
I'd like to reconsider
Please
If it's not too late
Make it a cheeseburger .. Lyle Lovette song "here i am"
just how do the holes get in swiss cheese????
i am through with this cheesey subject.......for now.

Wow,,, I am STILL knocked out from the Thursday show in DC. Awesome~!~!~!~! Yeh, that was nice, since the last time Joe was in DC was on the other side of the Capitol at Nations for the first G-3, , , , I think , , , right?
Joe, you are a Prince Among Men, especially for giving Leslie and Corky another shot at getting out there. My first exposure to Mountain was on a tv concert that aired on channel 5 in DC a week before the big Grand Funk show at RFK stadium, which included Traffic, Pacific Gas & Electric, and the Allman Bros. I was really impressed with Mississippi Queen and still have all the albums on vinyl, which got played once, when transfering to tape so I could play the ___ out of the tapes without injurying the originals.
The Wheel of theYears continues to revolve and I have taken as my mantra --
"Hey hey, My my - Rock & Roll will NEVER die!"
Leslie and Corky still have it. Robin Trower stil has it, and I hope Joe will still be out there doing an occasional show when he is "up there". Maybe Joe and Eddie VanHalen can do a show together at some point in the far future? The G-5?
Joe, Steve, John P, Eddie and, , , , , ,Jonny Lang?
MUST also thank Stu profusely for doing Quahogs. Wow!
I play Quahogs (the cd) for people and they say that it is impossible for anyone to do that on a bass. Simply Amazing!
Thank you ALL, for a great evening~!~!~!

Slanshroom--It would be so cool if you got back into teaching and it would be a blessing for all your students.
Out of the Setlist---Thank you for the warm welcome! No pun intended--I hope California cools off so I can believe autumn is officially here. I don't like to think global warming is bearing down on us, but what else could it be?
I'll get back to you on the 5 to 10 best Steven Tyler songs.
It's breakfast time!

Austin:i think the point is all those buildings were taken down by pro planned controlled explosions its the ONLY way a skyscaper can fall in a straight line down t earth, the government almost certainly knew it was going t happen b4 it did, one things for sure Bush got his war fighting terrorists in Afghan n Iraq out of it
Weapons of Mass Destruction remember? thats why the boys were sent in there because Powell had proof they existed....what did they find.... NOTHIN so the war plan changed from that t lets liberate iraq people from big bad Saddam
Personally I think its all a charade for the industrial military complex to exist, thats right...the people the good citizens of the US give ONE TRILLION of dollars EVERY YEAR t make the ultimate killing machine in secret...would be interesting t see their reaction having their tax payer cash given back t the people over 2 years!
The whole thing stinks of misplaced political power so its little wonder conspiracy theorys exist even if a lot of them are inaccurate
GoldenGirl2:thx I immigrated t Barcelona from Scotland but I,m still in touch with some of my ex students, some have gone on t make a living out of music, others have not, but i know from first hand posts sent to me from them i,ve made their world a better place, that for me is life satisfaction.I,ll prolly be an electrician in the future for a while until i can find my place back into the music world, its hard but i cant complain, i get paid in smiles

all i have to say about conspiracy theroies is they are just that... "theories"!!! can't prove them, can't disprove them. sad truth is we will never know. until it is proven it is just a belief.
and just for some clarity... i am neither condeming or condoning any person beliefs.

tikimon:I have t admit beliefs are really strange, y ask someone why they believe in something & their like "i dunno i just believe it"
I,ll go one further...Its all bullshit...the only thing that matters is what path of bullshit you choose, its all bull because todays fact is tomorrows news
I feel the story of Sumerian tablets would destroy religion if it was taken seriously & wasnt thought of as mythology, but who gives a shit, its kind of hard t excavate in IRAQ not t worry tho, i,m sure the US military will take home all of that is useful as well like they did with all the new german technology end of WW2
Musicians did get something positive out WW2 tho from german engineering....multitrack recording! check out Les Pauls story

T2JSinfonie update.
That's very sadly that i still have to report the web distribution of this project.
As already said, i get a serious prob with a meniscus which requires a surgical intervention. This intervention will happen around begining of 2009. I realized that i have to regulate this question before, if i want to really be ripe for the sinf taking.
I know that some people are waiting for long time.. i apologize.. be sure that i would prefer to not have a meniscus prob.
I get only one consolation : all is now almost here.. cds & webpage.
Hope you'll understand. Thx.

Joe,
I hope all is well. I am hoping that you recognize the nickname because yes I am one of your former neighbors back in westbury, LI. I am the last of the 8 kids that grew up at 104 Walsh Lane and now live in Houston, Texas.
I understand that you will be playing at the new house of blues in downtown houston but it is my understanding that your concert is sold out. I just got back from working in atlanta due to the damage hurricane ike did to our building in downtown houston and could not buy tickets in time. My friend who is a huge fan of your music does not believe that you once taught guitar lessons to my older brother paul who now has 4 kids and his oldest 20 yr old son now has four guitars, is studying music management and of course loves your music as well. I live ten blocks from the new house of blues and would love to catch your show if you could help me out.

Tikimon,
In case it slipped your mind, We Californians are on Pacific Time (3 hours behind ET)--would you have us turn our clocks forward 3 hours? You're goofing with me T!
Slanshroom--You a world traveler! What a life experience you have had. I'm a wee bit jealous--but I'll get over it. I would love to go see where my grandfather was born in Hazel Grove, England and go by train across the border to beautiful Scotland! I hope you are making a lot of friends in Spain. All the best to you.

tikimon - Yeah, that Jonny Lang album was re-released a few years ago so you should be able to find it. You can see the original cover here, and go here if you want to buy the remastered version. Enjoy!
And thanks for those videos. Have you heard Tony Levin's version of Sabre Dance? It's pretty crazy...
slanshroom - I agree that there wasn't the best reason/excuse/whatever to go into Iraq, and I know the official word on that changed quite a few times.
But it's insane to think the government was in on 9/11. Why did they have to bring down WTC7? No one was in that building, and if they planned the entire event from there they would have removed any incriminating evidence well ahead of time.
I'm with you in that I know some of what has happened after 9/11 really sucks, but the bigger conspiracy picture just doesn't add up in my mind.
Anyway, all this aside, I do enjoy reading your posts and I'm sorry to hear that you'll be staying away for a while... I hope you come back sooner rather than later...
