Hey Cappy I have a soft spot for Leeds too, ever since my beloved Harry Kewell and Mark Viduka were playing for them.
And of course, **Becks*** (sigh!) was/is right up there but I couldn't support Man U once I chose Leeds.

I can't remember if I asked this here the other day or not, but does anyone have any good ideas for cheap/easy/last-minute Halloween costumes? I had an idea that won't end up working out. I have a Plan B, but I'm not too thrilled about so I thought I'd check with people here...
Igneousiceman - Yeah, I love love love Almost Famous. In fact, I think I'll watch it tonight... :-)
Glitz Man - Congrats on finishing the 5K race...good luck next week, as well. Let us know how it goes.
Thanks for asking about the wildfires...they're all contained, and the last of them (for the time being) may be completely out already. The air where I live (Long Beach, on the coast) has been clear for quite a while now, so I'm good...
Listening to: Dave Matthews Band - 6/7/08; St. Louis, MO (current song: Pay For What You Get)

Orrrrr Austin, since u need choices and a black plastic trash bag just MIGHT not do.......
How about get a clear trash bag, cut out arm and leg holes, tie it at yer neck, and fill it with different color balloons....yer a bag of jelly beans :)
WHAT!!! It's a valid Halloween costume!!
Okay, fine....paint yer face up like John 5 (like Joe did), spike yer hair up or put on a beanie, wear a buncha black and yer all set!!
Anyway, I'm sure we can come up with more ideas if you'd like...I love making lists of stoopid things.....
A direct quote from the Joe Satriani "Professor Satchafunkilus and the Musterion of Rock" tab book, talking about one of the songs....
"Take "Out of the Sunrise," for example, with its complex guitar lines that are as bewitching as they are anodynic. "It's about somebody; let's say it's me, but it could just as easily be you; says Satriani. "He's been up all night and he's looking out at the dawn. And suddenly everything that he's done wrong in his life becomes clear. But he realizes that it's a new day, a new start, that he still has a chance. Ultimately, it's a song of hope."
Maybe that's why I'm drawn to this song so much...because I have no other hope in my life. It's a great song Joe, and just beautiful to listen to live. At least I got the chance in Ireland to hear it twice :) Thanks Joe.
So yeah, obviously got the tab book in the mail today, shhhhh, don't tell Chrispie, it's fer Christmas...but who am I kidding, I prolly won't be able to wait that long, lol....ooo I need to do another post...brb.....

Hey, Joe. I just wanted to ask you if you know a guy named Will. (Sorry forgot his last name I know it's a common first name). He used to have jam sessions with Dave la rue and he said he has gone to your concerts and met you at least 25 times.
Oh, and by the way ZZ is an awesome skater. Saw some of his videos on youtube.

So to continue with a couple other quotes from the book.....
"It's funny," says Satriani. "There's part of me that still gets off on playing wild, out-of-control guitar. I think I'll always stay in that state of arrested development. But another part of me tried to do more with less on this album. There are fewer songs, for one. But there are also fewer notes on some of those songs. Still, I tried to make sure that every second was filled with something--a new sound, a new riff, a new emotion. Every time I found myself doing what I'd done on earlier albums, I stopped myself and said, 'What else do I have inside of me?'
And I especially like this lil part....
Distinguished, hypnotic, brilliantly conceived and executed, and positively electrifying, Professor Satchafunkilus and the Musterion of Rock, despite its lighthearted title, is filled with the kind of arty vigor and bratty fever that has made Joe Satriani one of the greatest guitarists of his day. But if the measure of a musician is the human spirit he can coax out of a note, then Satch is doing something quite worthwhile with his extraordinary gifts--he's letting you in on a feeling.
Or as he might say, It's a mystery.
Love ya Joe.

Tikimon - Thanks for the video post. I personally had not seen that video. It's always good to hear Joe's thoughts on pedals and how he arranges his pedal board. And by the way, congrats on your Rays. I, of course, will be rooting for them to win it all. At least it will give me a small piece of comfort to know that the Sox were knocked out by the World Champs!

hybes; thanks for the support for the rays. we are all pretty stoked about them. if or should i say when they win we will have a superbowl championship and stanley cup team and a world series team.
i am glad you found the pedals useful. i am always moving mine around to see if it make a difference in the sound. i pretty much perfer just a whammy pedal my satchurator and delay. i hardly use my chorus or flanger. and some rat bastid stole my octiver.
