Sunday 7/18/10 Steve & Milli celebrate their 29th wedding anniversary! Monday and Tuesday--Monterey Peninsula to see Monterey Bay Aquarium. Don't know name of sleeping octopus in beautiful orange all 8 tentacles pressed against front of tank for security while slumbering. Beautiful suction disks.....Kelp forest is still growing..........Now showing flamingos in shore display..........Penguins show off--from horn of South America. Ever popular sea otters swim, float and do somersaults in their tank......with crowds of people with kids looking on......As always so much to see including seahorses and their relatives, the dragonfish and tubefish...unique courtship and mating culture--the males carry the eggs and developing young and give birth!
Adventures in Pacific Grove and Carmel and we got to see our favorite Lab dog buddy--Parker at a Carmel jewelry store...he helps his humans mind the store. So much fun Steve and I wanted to stay on a few more days......not possible this time.
I don't know if I'll get tickets to any concerts in the near future. Good to know others are able to do so.
Boston songs are lovely and so is Irish Air. Enjoying.

Scuba - ah you lucky devil, only two months to go to see Joe. Lots pics please for the distant Aussie fan lol. Good news about the pay rise too!
Cheese - thanks for the message, lucky to have a friend's spare car to use for the moment. I hope your 5 month rule is true haha would be great to see the US tour dates up. And then some Oz ones.
What is the Calgon for??? I had to google it to find out what it was.
Pip - how fantastic that your parents have racked up the big 50th anniversary!!!!! That really is an impressive event. To what do they attribute the achievement of this milestone?
I already love your Mum, she's my kinda Joe-fan LOL!! None of this shake hands and talk guitar stuff, go straight for the hug and the kiss so I am right in her zone :0) we could definitely be best buddies at a Joe show one day.
And try to re-stock their fridge before they get back kay?
Do the Stu - have fun at Aerosmith!
GoldenGirl - congrats on the anniversary too, 29 years is a great achievement.

GoldenGirl2 - Happy anniversary to you and Steve!
I finally went to Long Beach's aquarium (the Aquarium of the Pacific) the other day. I've lived here more or less for almost 10 years and I've been within walking distance of the place for about half that time, so I figured I was due for a visit. ;-)
It was neat to go through this underwater walkway thing to see the sea lions...they really ham it up when people are around.
...Austin...

Hey all, hope everyone is doing fine, I have been reading every day but the job keeps me pretty busy.
Anyway story and update time.
As some of you know my wife had an accident last November and got Amnesia lost about 30+ years of memory, she hasn't anything come back they are all new memories.
Where it ties to Joe is when I played her one of the DVD's with AWMAWY she fell in love with his music again and felt some familiarity. All of this I posted before.
The other day she found a VHS tape from 2000 around the time EOC came out and for which we won backstage passes to meet Joe.
So the week before the show she went skydiving to cure her fear of heights, the rush she got watching herself jump, freefall and land safely was awesome. I had told her she had skydived but it was my memory not hers, hers is gone. As she jumped out of the plane the song playing was Jump by VH, but as they start to come in for her landing the song changes to The Extremist which was a great choice for her jump.
As soon as she landed and was done hooting and hollering and just laughing she yells " I am 'Clouds Race Across The Sky.'" We got some photos of her in midair that we took to the Joe concert the following week and had him sign for her.
Shannon "Clouds Race Across The Sky" who is part Blackfoot told Joe of her story and I remember Joe just shaking his head and saying "you are one brave woman". Guess what Joe signed the picture, yup "Clouds Race Across the Sky"
Joe again your gift of music has given us a wonderful moment to relive my wife's missing past.
Thanks Joe, we anxiously await your for you to share your newest gift of music for our new memories.

Speakin' of Satch tunes, I've been creating the Ultimate Satriani Playlist since the beginning of the year. Since the first Friday of the year, Jan. 1, I've given each week a Satch song. Whether it was just caught in my head, or it had some sort of story or inspiration behind it. Now we all now there are 52 weeks in the year and I'm already half way through at Week 30. I will give everybody the playlist as a little New Years Eve present and give the description along with it.
I just won't give any away during the process. I'm not a spoiler
Except................ for bluebuffalo. Your story has touched my heart. Falling in love with music all over again. Only one can imagine. I'll dedicate "You Saved My Life" to you and your wife. :)

Hello, This is Shannon- Blue Buffalo's wife. I just wanted to say thank you as well. I am doing better and learning all over, what this huge world is like. I have to say, that even though I have memories of being a child, I don't remember anything quite like you. I love your music. I have been listening to all kinds since last November and well, I guess I am partial to yours. I was telling Freddy what I hear in different music, some of the music out there has a great story line to it, some of it is just off the wall, but when I hear you play, it is for the most part like taking a beautiful vacation, I can go where ever, I want because your music takes me there. I borrowed Freddy's MP3 thingy because he has all your work on it, I started a walking routine to help myself. I love listening to you in the morning.
Freddy says we are going to see you again and well, it will be my first time this lifetime. I am really looking forward to it. If you would ever stop by for dinner I would tell you in person how much your music means to me and how much it has helped in my recovery. OK, I'm a good cook too.
Joe, Creator has really blessed this world with your presence. May you always be blessed.

Freddy and Shannon - your words were heart-warming, what a wonderful way to re-live a lost memory than to watch that tape and experience the thrill of the skydive AND the music again.
I reckon Joe's music has so many of those intangible elements that just connect and resonate with people somehow, leaving each person with a unique return connection toward him that is their own. That's the best I can describe it. I guess he puts together the special ingredients that combine to express feelings through the guitar, and they make sense to the listener. So, yes we know exactly what you are saying Shannon. Good luck to you, hope to see you at a Joe show one day.

Freddy & Shannon: Thank you for sharing your amazing and touching story. It has long been suspected that music has an uncanny power to reach into our unconscious mind; even to the depths of our soul. Your story is proof positive.
Best of luck to both of you.

I did make it to Sammy's show in Oakland last night. The Waboritas were great! It was so cool to see them in an arena. I jumped on at the end and played "Sexy Little Thing" with them... Aerosmith rocked the place with a great show. Brad Whitford wore Chickenfoot shirt on stage! All in all a fantastic night... Joe
