Yeah Austin, u know if there's a show anywhere this side of the world, we're gonna do our best to be there :) It's such a small venue, 860 SEATS (who the hell wants to sit at a rock show!!!) but pre-tour??? OH YEAH!!! Just gotta figure out the deets and get the tickets.......maybe we can sleep in the car for 2 nights.......oh and with the special TWO bonus tracks on the Best Buy release, guess I'll be driving over to Medford the day before to buy them in-store...that'll make 4 copies.......Joe is my drug of choice, lol!!
Turbo Ian, sure you can cancel with any online reservation, but Hotwire.com makes you pay anyway. Even hotels.com is no guarantee, some hotels charge you a one-nights stay if you cancel after reserving. It sucks monkey balls when it happens. Did you mention CaboWabo FOOD???? :))))) We'll be in Tahoe Friday night and in line Saturday so I'm sure we can all work something out!
Oh and, just so this trip isn't tainted with a ticket....SLOWWWWWW DOWWWWWWWN!
Phydeaux_3, I don't think Joe ever got back the chromie that was stolen from him, but he had more than one. He has one that he keeps in mint condition for photos, videos, etc, and if I'm not mistaken, he has another that he plays on. He can borrow mine anytime he needs a minty though, lol!!
Grampy Steve, LOL! Okay, that's outta my system, so how about some baby stories...how's yer grandson?

Hi Joe,
There's mention of a "Deluxe Edition" coming exclusively to Best Buy. I think retailer exclusives hurt people, particularly iTunes because then everyone is stuck with lossy audio.
Have you ever listened to the 5.1 SACD mix of Strange Beautiful Music? I noticed one of your posts said Flying was 48-track. What I wouldn't give for a re-mastered 24-bit/192kHz 5.1 mix of Flying on Blu-ray Audio. Tom Petty's new album "Mojo" was released in high rez stereo and surround on Blu-ray and it is terrific. Neil Young's latest album "Le Noise", produced by Daniel Lanois, will be released on Blu-ray a few weeks after the CD/DD/vinyl release and will contain new video footage of Neil as well as the album in high resolution.
Have you considered releasing the new album on Blu-ray? In addition, it was a bit disappointing to see the "deluxe" edition of Surfing only contain 16-bit CD-DA audio in stereo. Truly these days a "Deluxe" edition should contain a high resoluiton and hopefully multi-channel mix? The reason I ask about Strange on SACD is because the multi-channel mix is simply fantastic. The four guitar lines on You Saved My Life are brought out so much more beautifully on the SACD. It's simply a must own disc in my opinion thanks to the gorgeous surround mix and DSD high resolution audio.
I don't think new SACD titles are a wise decision simply because for pop/rock music the SACD/DVD-A boat has sailed. But with no format war around and all studios part of the Blu-ray Disc Association (for live concert releases) I think you'd be leaping ahead of the competition by looking into a deluxe 5.1 Blu-ray edition of Flying, then Extremist, etc., etc., and of course the new album perhaps first. There is a market for Blu-ray Audio and I believe it's already bigger than the vinyl market, so clearly it's sustainable. A little bit of extra money for the studio time to do the surround mix would definitely be worth it. Pearl Jam's "Backspacer" moved only 11,500 copies on vinyl and DMB's "Big Whiskey and the Groogrux King" moved 11,400. I have no doubt they'd have moved triple that on Blu-ray with surround mixes and video footage, interactive discographies, etc., etc.
Please consider doing deluxe Blu-ray releases of the back catalogue and the new album.
Any chance the digital downloads might be offered in 24-bit?
Thanks for reading, looking forward to the tour.

Monterrey Trace - The little bugger started teething at six weeks, by week eight he pushed himself to his feet (only for a few seconds), by week nine he sticks out one arm with his fingers spread if I say gimme five and show him my hand. He can wink (how on earth can a nine week old child wink!?) and when my daughter tells him they are going to see Grandpop he smiles and gurgles. Oh yeah, he now weighs over a stone!

T-Bone, just keep it ready & steady! lol! There could be a substatian amount of havoc later today. ROF!
Question... is the cd we pre-ordered the deluxe addition, or are those 2 extra songs just sitting on a shelf at Best Buy & in iTunes to be bought after the pre-bought cd?
Fatape, ya know, that full body wax really turns the chick on, but growing it back is a real bitch! lmao! *shivers*

you cant beat pushing air into mics for guitar tones but it doesnt do bad job it seems
Guitar > amplug jack > any speaker = good sounds
basicly it, its like an fx pedal but its small and has a jack built into it
they've been out for a bit, but the JS one is new, seems cool

Not the Joe model but i'd say based around same principal maybe Joe could chime in and let us know if the JS model Amplug will be just as versatile or if its actually based around the AC30 but jesus for an amp that runs off couple of batteries and plugs into ur guitar for a quick on the fly jam Awesome stuff.

logicbdj and death cube K, thanks for posts. the modfactor does have a "slightly detuned" feature but, i have a whammy peda; for that. the chorus is nice and fat. phasing is quite good too. the virbrato and rotory are special. idid not think that i would like them. will be using this alot. now i have to decide to loop it or run the guitar though it for sound that fits me best. i run a fender twin with a carvin legacy combo. and use an ABY to control where and when signal goes. my js1200 sounds extraordinarly good through the twin. love to run an overdriven sound through 1 amp and a dry clean signal through the other.
