Do the burgers - Well at least we agree he's doing a good job on LYA. However I must admit that most of the time he has struck me as a not much better than average drummist. That being said, I love good drumming and often feel that bands with two drummers have a much better and fuller sound, JB at the RAH is fantastic for example. I was brought up with some brilliant drummers from the late sixties and early seventies. Then later the likes of Pick Withers were vastly underrated. Time for a beer.

Attempting upload of videos from Chickenhoe 9-11-10....stay tuned, may or may not be worth looking at when they're done, LOL! The upload is rather slow....
Meanwhile...I've decided I love my new Flip video camera, teeny lil thing, fits in with the digital camera and so easy to use it's stupid!! So, perfect fer me, LOL!! I tried covering the mic to keep from having nuthin but noise on the CF vids, but ya know what...I think that lil thing coulda handled the sound nicely without that, and in fact was prolly better. By covering it, I muffled the sound too much....right before I remembered to cover it, at the beginning of the vids, the sound was nice and clear. Guess ya learn as you go with these things!
Anyways, back to my mad scientist moments....

scubadaz - nice post! Great to hear Dream Song in full. Lots of ear candy.
Now listening to Joe talk about a small gig where there was not much response from the crowd...
JOE: "I kid you not, I don't think there were more than six people that actually came up to the front of the stage to go 'Yay Joe!' ya know?"
hilarious to hear him talk about it & can't help but shake my head.... hehe

Bitten By The Wolf
At about 1:05 Joe points at Chrispie and the kid next to him who was goin ape-shit every time Joe came closer...but Chris had just taken a picture of Sammy and so he missed it...at least I caught it on film for him, LOL!
Joe....you prolly don't even see or have time to notice...but every time you wave or smile at Chris....he lights up like a Christmas tree. You make him....and me....very happy :)

I have another question about the mp3 download. Is it supposed to come on a Word document? I got a message today and opened it. It's on a word document, and then I'm promted to accept a Eula agreement. Does that sound right to you guys? Seems like a strange way to receive an mp3. Just checking with everyone else.

Hello everybody!!!
Instead of me making a statement with Joe's songs, I'm going to do something else. Don't worry, I'll make a story anyway. This one is just a little more interesting.
It is Joe's songs in past literature!!!
You might be thinking that this is boring, but it is kinda like a word search with the word bank being completely in your memory.
READ THE DIRECTIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay. So I found a couple of pieces of literature that had Joe's song titles in them. The words are not always in order and never together. All of them are spaced out. And not all of the words may be there. But enough to figure it out. The song title will always be in the quote. Not in the book title. Now this won't be easy, but I've narrowed the quotes down to as small as possible, so it's not like looking for a needle in a haystack.
I'm putting the name of the author first, then the book, and then the quote.
I believe it was Glitz Man who was the guy with the keen eye for this. But whoever gets most of them wins......................... .........my undying respect.
Anyway hear it goes.
1. Thomas a Kempis- The Imitation Of Christ
"Seek a secret place for thyself, love to dwell alone with thyself, desire the conversation of no one; but rather pour out thy devout prayer to God, that thou mayest possess a contrite mind and a pure conscience."
2. John Woolman- The Journey of John Woolman
"Exercise of Mind respecting the Hardships of the Sailors—Considerations on the Dangers of training Youth to a Seafaring Life—Thoughts during a Storm at Sea"
3. Richard Barnfield- The Nightingale(A Poem)
"That to hear her so complain
Scarce I could from tears refrain;
For her griefs so lively shown
Made me think upon mine own.";
4. David Hume- An Enquiry Concerning Human Understanding
"If you tell me, that any person is in love, I easily understand your meaning, and from a just conception of his situation;"
5. Jacob A. Riis- How The Other Half Lives
"“Oh, how my heart grows weary, far from —” The song breaks off suddenly in a low, troubled laugh. She has forgotten, forgotten—"
6. William Hazlitt- Of Persons One Would Wish To Have Seen
"It seemed that if he came into the room, dreams would follow him, and that each person would nod under his golden cloud,"
GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

hybes - if you are referring to the mp3 download that comes with the preorder CD purchase, the email I received was titled "Your Free Joe Satriani Download is Ready!" and the link was embedded directly in the body of the email and NOT a Word document.... I do not recall a EULA of any sort either.
I'd tread lightly my friend, it sounds like you're dealing with spam in the very least - if not something with more ill-intentions

DistortedSoul - Ya, that email was from the Joe Satriani Store. It was apparently the receipt for the pre order. It has my code for a show. The download was included on this document. Strange. But I've never pre ordered anything from this site, so I'm not sure if all that is typical.
Web Master Jon - Perhaps you can weigh in on this. Was this document the one I was supposed to receive and it includeds the mp3 download?
Thanks.
