Tracie- Congrats on those awesome tickets!! Lets keep our fingers crossed that we can do the same for Reno tomorrow...
I scheduled a dr.'s appt. in the morning at 8:40, but I should definitely be able to be back by 11. Just in case I'm not, I've made arrangements to stop by a friends house in town and use her internet so that I don't miss the presale. As a plan B, I've arranged to be able to use the internet at my old work place next to the hospital in case my appointment takes a REALLY long time. Plan C, I'll have the ticketmaster phone number and my presale code with my and buy them over the phone. Any way you look at it, I'm buying those tickets when they go on sale, even if I have to stop the appointment and make the doctor wait!

Reno peeps
A little digging and a few phone calls:
The Grand Sierra tells me that Joe's show on the 14th will be reserved seating only (no GA). They couldn't produce a seating chart for the event, and from the description I got the ones on the TM event page aren't exactly right, either. They told me to go by the seating chart for Steve Martin's show, so: here ya go.
Please disregard the color codes and, obviously, the prices that apply to them. This is apparently the normal layout of the venue for non GA events. Hopefully they weren't just leading me on... They did give me 3 different prices for tickets ($65, 45, 35), where ticketmaster has only 2 ($65+ fees, 35+ fees), but the venue isn't participating in the presale.
Not surprisingly, ticketmaster has absolutely no idea that a presale is happening tomorrow. The guy kept insisting that the tickets don't go on sale until Oct. 2nd; so, I wouldn't be surprised if we all run in to some problems with our presale pass codes in the morning.
If any of you don't have it, the number for ticketmaster customer service is 800-745-3000.
Good Luck!!
Ian
*EDIT- If you save that pic to your computer so that you can zoom in on it, the seat and section numbers show up a little better. I'm on a laptop, though, so it may not apply to anyone else.

"Ticket buying is so dang stressful it's a wonder I survive to actually make it to the shows! "
Tracie--You are right on about that. Congratulations on getting front row tickets, btw.
Austin--Way to go, man! The man who is in the right place at the right time and lives according to Satch time! That's amazing! Why aren't you going to the Oakland show?
Tickets to a Satch show are precious no matter where one is seated!
Steve and I can't wait to see all the fans in Oakland AND see Joe and his band!

The link is here:
http://www.sonymusicdigital.com/joe-satriani/contact/new
It's the standard "contact us" form from the online store. They did reply to me yesterday, but all they told me was that everything is working and my code should be arriving within a few business days. I also emailed our webmaster and he talked to Sony about the problem, so maybe now people will receive faster responses.
If anyone (The Bob) still hasn't received your code, try filling out this form ASAP.

Ice9mike - I think you are right about the money since the GA tickets were only 35 dollars.
Turbo236 - I 'm happy to have Joe finally play here after moving here 4 years ago. One show will never do though, I know you agree.
At the Roseland you have to walk through a metal detector and then get patted down....comes with the territory I guess.

I haven't posted in about a week. I just watched all the podcasts at once. I really understand the feel of "Pyrrhic Victoria". I makes you feel like your moving forward and looking back at the same time.
But the song that really got me was "Solitude". I really can't stop listening to it. It's just so.........there. If you know what I'm talking about. I feel like I'm in the middle of a forest, sitting next to a quiet pond. Calm, yet sad and truly alone. Meditating, but not really thinking about anything. This song sits deep within me. This song is.........................powerful and tame all at once. I can't find words to truly express this song's connection with me.
It reminds me of another one of Joe's songs. Same tone, and same sad feeling. Can somebody remind me????

Mahavishnu- The Reno presale requires a password that you get if/when you pre-order the new CD..
I got my code as soon as I placed my order, so you may be able to put in an order and cross your fingers that you get it in time because many others here have had troubles with that. I would just give you mine but I'm gonna use it in the morning!
oxley11- The first time I listened to 'Solitude' I felt the same way I did when I first heard 'Day at the Beach'. It's not like me to admit this, but I actually shed a few tears the first time I heard that song a few years ago; just hit me the right way I guess.

I can hear a little bit of the rhythm of 'New Blues' when I listen to 'Solitude' as well. Kind of a stretch, but I can hear it. As far as feeling, though, it reminds me more of 'Day at the Beach'.
