heyy Joeeee!!
Can't wait till you're back in scotland on tour again! :D Last time i saw you on tour was 14th march 2008 in the royal concert hall in glasgow, was one helluva show!! So lookin forward to seeing you again in Glasgow at the clyde auditorium on the 22nd october!! :D woooooooooooooo ahhaaaa I've been listening to your new album, I absolutely adore the new sounds on it, each track has an individual feel, with different effects, its like having a small story in each of your tracks.....sorry for the rambling on ahaa I have a question for you, What out of your Vox pedals would you recommend for an Ibanez GRGR121-EX and Replicating your sound when playing your tracks? but also good for creating my own sound on my guitar? :)
Please write back soon if you are able to,
Always a faithful follower,
Euan O'Donnell

Hi gang, we made it to Napa and are in the hotel room...wifi is a bit dicey though.
On the way down here we stopped at the Best Buy in Redding, CA to pick up two copies of the new cd with the bonus tracks....they hadn't heard of it, didn't have it out anywhere, only had 5 copies when they did find it but had to look quite awhile for them!! SHEESH!!! I tole them "shame on you" cuz it's an exclusive release by them so they should know more about it!!
Anyway, we popped it in the cd player in the car and went off back down the road...absolutely love all the tunes, including the two bonus tracks...they are wonderful and worth buying the extra cd for. Ahem....I'ma have a total of 6 copies of this cd (two with bonus tracks) when all is said and done...geeee-e-e-e-e-e-eeeeze!!!
Napa is very pretty wine country, we're staying at a hotel right around the corner from the venue, and will prolly go exploring in just a bit. Some beautiful old buildings here, right near the river.
Can't wait for tomorrow night Joe, until then we'll be listening to the new album and be very happy, lol!

I've been wanting to post all day but have been too busy....
Went to Best Buy as soon as they opened this morning and bought my second copy of BSAWW (with the bonus tracks)! Both Heartbeats and Longing are great songs. I have listened to them about 30 times each and I think Longing is now somewhere near the top of my favorites list for this album. I think he nailed the feeling he was going for, and I agree this is some of his most expressive playing on this track.
JOE - PLEASE include Longing and Heartbeats in the concert setlist! They are too beautiful to exclude.
What is it about the bonus tracks? Just call them bonus tracks and I think that almost instantly makes them faves. Ghosts and Dog With Crown & Earring are good examples :)
Man, another great day in the world of Satchtopia.

I haven't opened my bonus CD yet, but I'm assuming that it doesn't contain a DVD with the un-affected LIP tracks that Webby Jon mentioned a couple months ago?
Hope all you Napa people have a wonderful time at the show tomorrow!! I should have driven down from Salem, but January is right around the corner I suppose. I'll look forward to pics and video from the show, and I'm super excited to hear what Joe plays! No way I'm waiting til January to see the setlist, and it sounds like it will be evolving as the tour goes on anyway.

I stayed away from here intentionally, so as not to see any comments regarding the new songs. Mission accomplished, I went out and bought the CD today having no clue what to expect.
I liked it, Wormhole and Wind are my faves on first listen, followed by Dream, Pyrric and Light. Hated Premonition on first listen. Rest of the album is OK. Let's see how this changes as I listen to it more - and louder.
Now I'm reading everything I missed, almost 1700 posts...u guys are killing me!! still 700+ posts to go. Very sad to see Portnoy leave DT, but also very excited on how this change will affect DT's sound.
Talk 2 u all later!
