When I woke up this morning there was some music in my head. When i checked which one is was: Dream Song. Kinda fun that song entered my subconscious first. (It wasn't even among my favorites in the woken world :-)

I'm off to Napa! It's weird to think I'll be leaving there by about this time tomorrow...I'll only be spending about 16 hours total in the city, and half that time will be spent sleeping. ;-)
I'll be back with plenty of pictures and maybe a YouTube video or three.

Yeah, best buy in Canada seems to have the same problem. No CDs put out. The attitude when I asked about it was "don't know-don't care". So I asked for the manager, and when he came out (this 17 year old) I was told that they "mustn't have come in their shipment". Best Buy = freakin' gong show Posted from IPhone

Hi Joe.
I always feel very close to your music, I started playing guitar at age 13, and you have been my greatest influence, if not for you I would have listened to musicians like Jimi Hendrix, Robert Fripp, Steve Vai and others.
Now I want to retrieve the music, and I feel very close to your new album.
I do not enjoy the music now as much as I like, I have anhedonia.
I want to get the desire to play and study what I always wanted to study, and you are one of my engines.
Thanks for existing.

As I'm reading today's posts, I have God Is Crying playing in my head. I love how that song kicks ass! I think I've listened to this cd around 30 to 40x already. I play it at home, in my car, and over the weekend at work on my mp3 player. lol! I had it playing in the car last night, and my hubs asked if it was an old Joe cd or the new one. LOL! He said I've played it so much it's already familiar to him and he wasn't sure. lol!
It's Napa day! Have fun peeps and give Joe some lovin' for all of us!
Gotta go to Best Buy today and pick up the cd with bonus tracks. Last time I went to BB for a cd (Sully Erna - Avalon) on release day it was ridiculous. I searched everywhere, new releases, under E, and even under S for Sully & G for Godsmack - it was nowhere. I asked TWO different employees if someone worked in that department and could help me. They both called for "the guy". After another 10 minutes or so, I see this schlep walking towards me like he had nothing to do and nowhere to go. I was like...you gotta be effin kidding me! After looking where I already looked, and checking the computer to confirm they had it, he told me it wasn't out yet, and he'd have to go get it. He walked away in slo-mo, and eventually came back in slo-mo...with ONE cd in his hand. Don't effin strain yerself dude! By the time he came back to me, I wanted to take the cd out of his hand and frickin beat him with it. LOL! It took over a half hour to buy one cd ferchristsake! If I go there today, and Joe's cd isn't on the shelf on it's 2nd day of release, I really hope that same guy doesn't show up, cause mama ain't gonna be so nice this time.

Hi Joe!
I was reading your interview on MusicRadar and the following in your response totally resonated with me :
As for the tension thing, that goes hand-in-hand with not pressing too hard on the strings and fretboard. I had to use my head to talk my hand into letting go and allowing the music to just flow. Believe me, I had to work to stop tensing up my shoulders and my jaw. You have to keep reminding yourself to only use the muscles necessary to make the chordal playing happen naturally.
This goes TOTALLY hand-in-hand with the foundational concepts in Guitar Principles learning and practice method that I started following not long ago, when I started being honest with myself about my stagnating guitar skills. Jamie Andreas, the author of the book and related materials (and who I am currently taking lessons from) states more than once in the book - "All great players already know this...". And it's not like I don't trust her - but it's absolutely great to have such a direct and unambiguous confirmation of the fact from one of the guitar legends!
Other than that - you can look forward to more rambly posts from me ;o) Especially after the new CD arrives in the mail and I'll have to decide whether I'm keeping "Surfing with the Alien" as my ringtone (it's one of my faves and it gets people asking questions anytime my phone rings... free publicity!!!) or if I will have to switch to one of the songs from the new album...
Ok, I'll shut up for now...
Thanks again!!!
Stan

I kinda expected some blue text yesterday, since it's the release date, but I guess Joe is busy with the tour.
working on God is Crying right now, this song is tied with Pyrrhic Victoria for my fave. followed by premonition, dream song and wormhole wizards. But I still love the rest.
maybe its just because its new, but I think this is my favorite album.
Absolutely AMAZING Joe, you've outdone yourself yet again.

I called the Best Buy here in Salem yesterday morning and asked them if they had the new CD and the guy on the phone was very familiar with Joe and BSAWW. I'm sure I got a rare one, but it's nice to know that at least one Best Buy is pushing the new CD.
That being said; I don't know that a Best Buy exclusive release is the best for business after seeing the way they handle things, but I am glad to see that Joe or CF aren't doing Wal Mart exclusives like so many artists are now days. I hope they never do, either!
Have fun in Napa Austin, Tracie and Peace (your first Joe!!)! If they play DWCAE I will never forgive myself for not going. From the looks of the interview, it sounds like you guys will get less of the new album and more of the older stuff, so you should be in for a real treat if they have shaken up the set list like they say they have. I'd have given my good leg to have been a fly on the wall during rehearsals!
Ian

Hello, new here but long-time Satch fan. Does anyone know if the bonus tracks will be available outside the US? They're not on UK iTunes, and there's no deluxe CD available over here as far as I can tell. Why are we being left out? I guess I'll have to wait for an American deluxe CD to turn up on eBay, unless someone else on here has good news...

I'm pleased (?) to report that Chrispie is currently in a jelly-belly coma, but should be coming out of it just in time for the show tonight :)))
They really do have some freakish flavors there, stuff I'd never wanna try no matter how much you paid me...centipede, boogers, baby wipes to name a few...YUCK!!
K...peeps are arriving from all over and wandering around, Brian and Debbie are here and said Joe was at the venue already. He shows up so EARLY!! Chad should take lessons, LOL!!
Gettin excited, WOOT!

Joe,
Please can you speak to your record company. I've been a fan since I got Surfing with the Alien when it came out. I live in the UK and your record company seems to think I don't deserve all the video content posted on websatch YouTube and now my album has 2 tracks missing off it. I don't often cry unfair but I don't see why we in the UK only deserve an incomplete album. I know this sin't you personally as you are here in a couple of weeks (will see you in Bristol).
I'm not looking to start a rant, I am just very very disappointed as the rest of the album is the best since the Extremist, in my view.
Well done Joe for such a great album (roll on Chickenfoot II) but poor show Sony for snubbing the UK.

Monday and Tuesday were very full days--Library work, errands and shopping for food. Tuesday--Meet up with my sister, her hubby and niece and nephew at US army, navy, marines, air force, coast guard, etc. field building where my nephew signed up to commit himself to the navy after he graduates from high school in about 9 months. My nephew is goin' into the US Navy......What a big decision! But then he doesn't want to be stuck in the sleepy city of Merced, California. He wants to lend himself to the Navy so he can get a college/University education and travel....maybe go to a University outside the US and learn how the rest of the world works! I'm proud of him making such a commitment. I thought about it when I was 20 and never did. His 7-year-old sister says, "My brother is almost a grownup." I'll miss him when he goes away." Then she goes back to her fairy tale book and the present. Wish I could be as care-free as my niece. Sigh!
A. McKenna--Thank you for the kitten getting a free ride on a tortoise vid. The turtle-oise seemed to suspect he/she had put on weight rather abruptly. Awwwwwww........so cute and innocent. I needs to see more of those kind of vids. I love the kitties......they are soooo sweetie! The tortoise is an interesting animal.....especially the American desert tortoise with his handsome armour, like a tank! So many interesting animals and bugs on earth. My favorite bug is the ant lion--a larvae creature who digs a funnel shaped pit to trap ants.
Joseph--I am humbled by your huge musical creativity. Yesterday afternoon BSAWW CD arrived at my doorstep in the middle of insanity in our back yard that had Steve angry at our neighbor/his tree trimmers and me in tears! Why do people assume they have permission to land/walk around (with garden tools and ladders no less) in our backyard BEFORE knocking at our front door and obtaining our permission!? Shite! Where was I? That was yesterday! Anyway, we listened to the CD last night and Steve wondered if we were going to hear/see all of the songs performed in Oakland on January 13, 2011. I told him we are. He really likes Pyrrhic Victoria and so do I along with every other song. Solitude is a sweet solo. I love Littleworth Lane and the way it translated memories--beautiful! Wow! Golden Room and TSTES are so amazing and different sound statements. I love the jazz as well as rock n roll. God is Crying is a way of reaching out and grabbing me and saying......"Just Listen and you will understand."
All of those in Napa--Have fun and enjoy time with Joe!

Just got a chance to listen to the cd on some decent speakers... recorded well and post production is awsome! definitly sometihng different about this cd from the last few, much more excitement about it
lead guitars sound much more reverby, and room-ey, definitly hear that on the tracks
The chorus in Pyrrhic victoria is quite pyrrhic!
