but I wouldn't complain if I was there right now :)

Anibur - nice pic there
Chad - fantastic pumpkin mate!
Hmmmm I guess waffles must be vegan then?
Scube - you liked my skelly dincha LOL? It was pouring rain for Halloween last night so not many kids out. I don't know if its a good thing or a bad thing but it seems Aussie kids have latched on to Halloween here *sigh*. I dug out my Roseanne series and watched one of her Halloween episodes - priceless.

A Letter I wrote...
Why isnt Joe Satriani inducted into your Long Island Music Hall of
Fame? So many artists you have there haven't even come close to the accomplishments of Joe Satriani. For over 25 years Joe has released new music that is appreciated in every country of this Planet besides 14 or so Grammy Nom's. Shall i mention the greatest instrumental rock album of all time "Surfing with the Alien". Dream Theater induction is a nice touch but your missing the most deserving, Joe Satriani...please look
into this overlooked artist...try Google.
Joseph,
Thanks for your email about Joe Satriani and the Long Island Music Hall of Fame.
...Believe me, we're well aware of his importance and the fact that he should be part of the Hall. I'm especially aware, with his having been born three days before me in 1956.
The problem (although it's a good one) is that we have nearly 500 worthy nominees and it will take us a bit to get to everyone, but rest assured that Joe is at or near the top of our list. Another thing to understand is that given the large number of potential members of the Hall, we cannot be judging their accomplishments against each other. The only practical criteria, besides their connection to Long Island, is a high professional standard. Joe certainly meets that, and will be inducted soon.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey James

I was talking to a guitar teacher yesterday about taking some lessons.
He said 'what kind of music do you listen to', before I could open my mouth the wife pipes up and says 'he plays Joe Satriani ALL the time'.
Guitar teacher sucks air in between clenched teeth, shakes his head slightly, and stroking his beard says 'well, you aint gonna get as good as him!'. LMAO

So... I went to the JS show in Tilburg, Holland yesterday and I thought I might try to go for an autograph and on of those I-met-the-guy pictures afterwards, something I usually wouldn't do since...well..it's just for the other dudes.
I am standing there feeling a little too old for this and eventually left pretty disappointed after waiting for 2,5 hrs. No Joe. Yes, one of the buses left hours ago and yes, the remaining crew assured us (while mysteriously grinning) Satch had left with that particular bus, but would you believe them? Is it a test to see who stays to be the die-hard fan?
The 'experienced' fans explained to me it is normal to be a little persistent since the artist (rightfully) takes his time to take a shower, have a drink or two, have a bite, shake hands, and then finally, most of the time, 'award' the (four) remaining die-hard fans that a that time are frozen to the gate.
On one hand you feel kinda stupid standing there and on the other hand...this is the guy that inspired you to play guitar over 20 years ago. Let's for once act like a moron and line up with the other morons and waste some time. Now I want my 2,5 hrs back.
Luckily the tech dude cheered us up with an official Joe Satriani pick. Thanks.
