maritime, it's a fine idea, eh? :) Can never have too much Joe!!
abeast...Joe DOES answer here, just not as often as we think he should, which would be at least 3 times a day, LOL....he's a bizzy bizzy guy...but if you click on the box near the top of this page that's in the color blue and says Joe Messages....you can see some of his posts he's done...he talks to people...when he can :) But mostly, Joe never stops working!!
What I can also tell you is...Joe is pretty faithful about reading the messages here, even if he can't respond most of the time. ;)
It's supposed to snow here all the next 2 days...lookin like a pajama-Joe weekend, lol!!

Joe,
Like many fans on here, I'll add my support to you and your work during this Cold-Gate episode. I hope the infringement case settles quickly, as conflict is always unpleasant to deal with. I am quite comfortable in agreeing with the many fans on here that your sound was copied - pure and simple. We all know that your creativity and musicianship far surpasses anything Coldplay has ever produced, and their assumption that this would just be under the musical radar is shameful. One consistent behavior of yours (and fellow musicians such as Mr. S Vai, Mr. E Johnson, and Mr. J Petrucci) has been that I've NEVER heard you or any of them speak ill of another artist. You have never, in any interview that I have ever read, been disrespectful to another artist, and have always carried yourself in a professional and inspirational manner. Those are just a few of your many shining qualities, and fans do pick up on that. Many of us in this forum are likely artists in our own way, and would feel the same if our work was treated in such a manner. I wish you the very best with all of this current situation, and look forward to your next musical work.
Peace, and be well.
AH (aka stringbendtap)

Thanks all T2Jers! For logging in Andy Timmons site and checking on him for me, yourselves. JOE: Thanks to you for being so busy and still letting us check on Andy! I'm glad to hear from all the T2Jers who logged on the various sites to check up on him and leave messages here for me to read. You guys are really cool! I was glad to read that his back problems were not a bad as preiviously thought. As for plagerism, all the chord progressions have been used, the lyrics change. UK copyrights are different from international ones etc. and it goes on and on.....I have at least 4 commercials on TV that are based on ATN songs we posted in 2003. Same chord progressions and timing. They did add some new chord changes that made the commercials different. Check out the commercials for drugs for arthritis and then check out "Benediction" from ATN. There are more that similarities. The thing I keep in mind, "It is quite an honor to have people emmulate your work, a form of flattery." Randell

I'm working on a Satch 101 playlist to introduce Joe's music to some friends. This is what I came up with last night:
SWTA
Crowd Chant
Summer Song
Love Thing
Mind Storm
I Am Become Death
Look My Way
Hordes of Locusts
Big Bad Moon
ITLIS?
The Headless Horseman
Echo
Friends
12 songs, 54.8 minutes
I know everyone will have their own personal list of a dozen songs they would recommend or use to introduce Joe's artistry.
...the mic is on...

my opinion:
Cool #9 (G3) and Champagne and/or Turkey Man are the NEXT class (Satch 201)
Searching is the Advanced class
fill up that CD, now~!
p.s. Super Colossal = extra credit

Searching, Just Look Up, Satch Boogie, Summer Song, ....
Dire Straits--Mark Knopfler. He is mighty Scottish guitarist. Only have "Brothers In Arms" and need to branch out.

so the vids pulled out of the tube? well, how am I going to share my findings then? let me tell you guys, it's not even funny how much alike these melodies are... the rhythm, note duration, rests... even when they divert and do different things. they land on the same spots, with the same rhythmic patterns...
you know those tests in the magazines with two pictures that ask you to find the differences between the two of them? It's like that, but you can't find eight differences

GOLDENGIRL2,
Mark Knopfler is frem Newcastle. I think a few geordies might be upset that you say he's scottish. He's the only musician they're famous for, (they only have Jimmy Nail and Paul Gascoine otherwise ) !!!
I agree though, He is cool. Dire Straits have some of the best driving rock music ever. ( attention to money for nothing and sultans of swing). and unlike One big rush and summer song they are not gonna make you drive so fast you get a ticket. (sorry Joe, but they make me go way too fast)
