quick question guys..
On my JS100 when I am playing and I hit the strings, it has a really bad vibration in it and im not sure why. I know its not from not holding them down hard enough because I even let a friend play it and he has been playing for a while... So, what would you say it could be from and why it is doing that!
Thanks from any advise

Kayla, it could be the truss rod's a little loose, or, just about anything else that can be tightened. All guitars need adjusting just about all the time. The more you play 'em the more they need. That's part of the fun I guess... Joe

Kayla - Also check the tension springs in the back, I just switched to a heavier gauge string on my Ibanez RG for a bit of experimentation and found that the springs rattled in the back when I hammered on and pulled off the top two strings, at this point I haven't really been able to fix that unless I remove the back cover.
Not that it bothers me to badly...but you might be having something of the same problem.

Cool vid, for a cool cause... The JB story is so sad, nice to see good benifit for 'em
If ya changed string gauge, yer gonna have to set up a bit of stuff to get it playing nice again
...As for the strings buzzing... Could be fret buzz, from low action... A bad fret or a convex bow in the neck... Temperature and humidity have an effect on the wood throughout the year too and yup, they need to be adjusted and tweaked constantly
Sounds more complicated than it is, but once you get your head around it and how it works, it's grand
I'm watching a lot of "Curb your enthusiasm lately" it's freakin' funny

Thanks for the advice guys! I will have to check those out!
Have a ton of fun playing, I am still learning all the basics while I am trying to teach someone as well, so even though he does not know the difference, it is kind of embarrasing having my gutiar rattle like that! ha!
JOE- Thanks for the input! It is such a great guitar, I just need to get it in tip top shape and use it to its full potential! Next step, buying an amp! (I have received some great advice with purchase options as well JSX here I come!)
I have started to write my first song, I have been getting so many ideas run through my head during the day of different sounds and things I want to try, it is just finding the placings for it and making it sound good and having it all come together!
ahh, another thing also, I FOUND MY TREM BAR! I was playing the other day and flipped my case over out pops this section in the case where it had my bar! Pretty excited about that, still need to get the actual trem figured out though! Took it in and they said it needs to be takin to a Floyd Rose Specialist, now to find one around here is the problem!

Zen san: I hear ya bro on music being subjective, and on Jeff for G3, I know what you mean on his approach to guitar..but, if Robert Fripp can be on G3, so can Jeff, lol, and after all, he is the living "Godfather" of the instrument ;-) Btw, I love the ladies you have, nice collection, and I'll bet they sound better than they look! And thank's for the good vibes with all that is going on here Zen, we are about 1,200mi. south from all the devistation, and are just praying we have seen the worst of it all....
michelle: I hope Joe can hook it up with Al DiMeola, he is a fantastic player, and 180 from Joe in regards to technique..he likes to pick every note, lol, and for me, I wish the next G could be Greg Howe....
....and btw, check out Dennis laying down the groove!!

Ovation _ thx for your kind words.
To tell the truth, the Strat acoustic is very far to be a good acoustic guitar. But it works not bad at all for electro-acoustic exploiration.

Kayla- Is is more of a vibration that you can HEAR or a vibration that you FEEL through the guitar? My JS100 has some fret buzz in the low E just because the action is set so low, but it's not enough to hear through an amp so I don't bother adjusting anything.
If I move up to a set of 10's I may have some problems, though. And if my truss rod needs adjusting, I will more than likely take it to a luthier as I've just barely wrapped my head around the floating trem.
I believe my next order of business for the JS100 is to upgrade the pickups to those of the JS1200. (PAF Joe and FRED). I've been quite unhappy with the stock p/u's so far.

Hello, Joe Satriani!!! I like your creativity and music which you write. Especially game on a harmonica!!! Wanted to wish you and further the same open, cheerful person and creative successes!
I have a small request to you! Perfectly I understand that it silly for my part and most likely it is impossible, but at least I will amuse you! I very much would like to receive one of your guitars with your signature on it. To have a guitar from Joe Satriani it so it is healthy!!!
Thanks for that have read my letter! My best regards to You!
