What a great day! After a very long day, I finally have time to get online and say...
CONGRATS AND MUCH LOVE TO THE LONDON FAAAAAMILY!
Ahh man, that just makes my heart so happy!
Mikey, my hubs sent me a text message this morning to tell me Mangini was in. First thing I thought of was your big smile with keys for teeth. lol! Big lettered teeth that spell LMAO!
Alexandre. so glad to see you post again! Nice to hear that your beautiful daughter is getting so big. They grow up so fast. I hope everything is well with you and your family. Only a few more days until we pick up our new baby from the cat rescue foster mom. He's a Manx kitten named Loki. He'll be 9 weeks old next Saturday. He'll add to our family and be kitty #3. Did you get another dog since Hadji passed? I know a baby and a puppy are a lot to handle, so maybe Matilde is enough for now? Hugs!
This post has been on hold for about 2 hours while a friend has chewed my ear to pieces over the phone. Sometimes you just have to sacrifice yourself for a bit to make someone else feel better. My head is numb. lol!
I've had the DT vid on stand-by the whole time! lol! Time to watch it!
edit: wow, that vid took about 30 minutes to load, and kept stopping every few seconds - but so worth watching Mangini's reaction! Nice they showed a bit of Portnoy in there too.

death cube k: Congrats again /\/\R|<, and my first daughter was a C-section..same thing. The nurses had Mommy up and walking the next morning..it helps heal quicker.
michelle: haha, LMAO is right, and I have written on the blackboard Mike Mangini is the winner 1,000 times so I wont forget, and I am really looking forward to what they sound like!! I am thinking in the realm of Train Of Thought Honor Thy Father!!.... This song (and album) really gets me going cause it is about the heaviest they get, and Mike is just inhuman on this!!!! Love the riffage in the intro....Sick, sick, sick!!!!
Btw michelle, high-five to your hubs for having great musical taste! Compai! :-)

Mikey, Train of Thought is my fav DT album, and Honor Thy Father is my fav song from it! lol! When it first came out, I'd blast it in my little Honda Civic that had killer speakers, and it would be like heaven on earth - at concert level! lol! Funny it never blew out a window when it got right past the 5 minute mark and that chugging starts. lol! That car was so bitchin' for my music. lol! Now I have stock Toyota Corolla speakers in my car. Just not the same :-/ lol! Bet the kid we sold the Honda to had fun with it. lol!
Cube, some time within the next week or so, email me a pic of the baby if you will. I wanna see him too, and I'm so not down with the whole fb thing.
As for Mangini, I saw him in action two times. He was playing with Steve on the first G3 tour. I remember he REALLY blew me away with his skills. The first local G3 show (with EJ) was at the Valley Forge Music Center, which was a revolving stage, so we got all angles of the band. Had to be a bitch for whoever was on stage though. LOL! That was really cool because you could see the drummer from all angles, and not just in the back of the stage (boo!) The second G3 (with KWS) was at the Electric Factory. I distinctly remember Robert Fripp making what sounded like whale sounds for what seemed like hours before the show started. lol!
Cool! Check out this little flashback I found.

michelle: Haha, lol, I do the same thing when I pop DT's TOT cd in my van!! It has got to be the coolest intro to get you going, and it just makes me want to bang myself in the head ala Portnoy, lol, cant get enough of the crunch they deliVA!! :-) Lol on your Civic, I know what you mean about the speakers cause my wife wants me to get rid of our too big Toyota Town Ace van, but I don't want to cause I installed a killer system when I bought it back in '99 and the mini tweeters @ head level give me that concert effect you were talking about! :-)
Btw, thanks for that Mangini blast from the past! I'd love to get one of those "tour books with the music"!!
Btw2, I meant to say before that I think it is very ironic Mike Mangin replaced Mike Portnoy and their names have the same number of letters, lol!!

WOW I can't believe I am going to see Joe twice in 7 months. Once in Toronto of 2010, and now this coming July in Ottawa at BluesFest. Bought my husband surprise tickets for the concert and I can't wait to give them to him on his birthday in a couple of months. (If I can keep a secret that long) LOL Hopefully there will be an opportunity to get his Ibanez autographed this time around.
Thanks for coming to Ottawa Joe, you saved us older folk less driving.
See you at BluesFest.
