The benefit webcast RULED! So much goodness all on one stage! It was 3:30 (local time) here by the time it ended. Those last few jams with all the guest guitarists were amazing!
Also, I was so thrilled to see the "secret" Dethklok show, Brendon & Keneally (& Beller & Hogland) really delivered. I can't believe there's so many haters on here... do you guys even know what Metalocalypse is? It is WAY funnier when you're in on the joke, just to let you guys know, it's not really meant to be taken seriously, I'm sure that if you had seen the episodes and read the lyrics it would be a LOT more entertaining. I (along with Joe, HUGE Dethklok fan!) was in Heaven!

Joe,
Great benefit concert!! Couldnt make it to the concert so I tuned in on the computer. Is there some way I can donate more money to Cliff then just the $ 6.00 to watch the live concert stream? I would really like to help Cliff any way I can in this hard time. I live on the east coast and the concert time was pacific.... so I stayed up until about 4:30am for the show. It was 100% worth it!!
Anyway great job, I cant wait to hear Chickenfoot 3! The teaser sounds really cool! See you out there on tour!

There is a simple solution to the whole flag burning deal. Pass a law of treason punishable by death. And then passionate American's wouldn't feel the need to get physical on some flag burning jerk! =)
Just to be safe, we should probably brand, lobotomize, and sterilize any children those found guilty might have, eh?

Joe,
From a fellow Long Islander at last night's show in LA. BEAUTIFUL!! JUST BEAUTIFUL. Last time my wife and I saw you was Irvine '92 before our sons were born...... Last night, both our sons were with us. Does it get any better? My son is a phenominal bass player at 17. He has a band the covers Satch Boogie and others. I will tell you more about him. "Always with me, Always with you" was our wedding song in 1988. What a treat that was!!!
You're the best Joe. I am so glad I took my family to that epic show.
Ted

Gauging by the reaction of everyone there who was not destroying an American Flag, I'd say the Vet was doing a good deed. Hopefully the judge saw it that way too.
I agree with you Two Shay; if you don't like the country you're in, then get the hell out!

If you're over the age of 7 you're supposed to know right from wrong... however, sentence the parents for allowing such a young child to perform such acts of hatred.
In my town if you're high school child skips school the parents receive a nice 75 dollar fine from the city. I consider burning and pissing on the flag a far more heinous crime. But hey, I'm not running for president or supreme court justice or anything...so my opinions on this matter are worth no more than dust on my computer screen.

The battle over the burning and desecrating of the American flag can go on forever. There are those that are passive about it and there are those that are aggressive about it. But for now there are no laws condemning that act...

Sorry, I refreshed my browser and for some reason it re-posted my message from last week. Lots of interesting points on the Flag burning issue, though.
In the end, there is no law that forbids it. As I said, the Flag Code is merely a set of guidelines that suggest how the Flag should be handled, folded, displayed, etc. It is only a governing document for federal entities. It is true that unserviceable Flags are destroyed by burning, but anybody can do that. They must be properly folded and placed in a fire of sufficient flame to consume the entire flag, and the ashes must be buried. The pledge of allegiance is usually recited after the flag is placed on the fire.
Sorry for the history lesson. I suppose I could have just posted a link.
