Conch - Some of your choices are somewhat eclectic and that's Good, but Jeff C? Sorry but the nearest he gets to a top five drummists is if he's picking them IMHO opinion that is.

Toosh, I love the way Campitelli drums. IMO his playing has improved leaps & bounds since the first time I saw Joe '96 or whenever it was. He's not flashy or a show-off like some of my other choices, but he always looks like he's having such a great time and really loves what he's doing. Between that and the dimples, he makes my list :-)

Toosh, ok, let's see yer list! lol! Stu crossed my mind, as well as Joe's other bass players. I have cd's from Stu & Matt Bissonette, and I like them, but they're not my favs. Top 20 for sure though, but not top 5. Allan Whitman played the balls off the Wormhole gig too. Fantastic player. I could have put Billy Cobham in instead of Jeff, but it wasn't all about technical players - just players we really dig listening to.
Cobham
I think the Mermen sound a bit fishy. ;-)
Looks like fun!
OK, top 5 peeps! C'maaaaaan!!

OK Conch, straight off the top of my head without too much thinking otherwise i'll be at it all night!
John Bonham, Cozy Powell, Neil Peart, Pick Withers and Ian Paice.
Moon, Portnoy, Copeland, Collins, Mason, Fleetwood, and I believe Mike Shrieve is a much underrated drummist.
Looking back at them I see i'm showing my age a bit!

I have not posted much lately...although I read the posts daily. Had alot going on...... I wanted to post an update on my father because several peeps have offered up prayers and good vibes for him . He did have to have the surgery to amputate his arm . He held out as long as he could but yesterday (Friday) he had his surgery . He came thru surgery with no complications and is doing well in the hospital and if all continues good will get out this next Friday. He is trying to stay positive about learning to live with one arm. He is my Hero...I would hope I could meet adversity with as much determination and bravery as he has shown.
& yes ....as always when I need to refresh my spirit ..I listen to lots of Joe, it never fails to improve my outlook.

@whammyfreak-I haven't gotten into Eric johnson's music just yet. After I found out about Joe, I listened to almost his entire discography in almost a year and a half. Then last year when I was waiting for Black Swans and Wormhole Wizards, I started listening to Vai. Then months later I started getting into Buckethead. And within the past month or two I've been listening to Paul Gilbert's music. I'll put Johnson next and then probably Petrucci if he comes out with more solo stuff.
Any suggestions for Eric Johnson songs. Besides Cliffs Of Dover because I already like that song.

We have Ah, Via Musicom, Venus Isle, Alien Love Child, & Bloom. I always liked this tune - Last House on the Block. If you go to Youtube & put in Eric Johnson & the album title, it will prolly come up with at least a few cuts from the albums. That way you can hear a bit before you buy them. I've prolly listened to Venus Isle the most. It's all good tho!
Earlier today my hubs called T-Mobile to see about a bogus $9.99 charge on my daughters cell number. He got that taken off, and asked when his phone can be renewed. The answer was not for another month. That was THEE extent of the convo. What happens next you ask?? He gets an email a few hours later telling him that a phone is being shipped to replace our daughters other one. WTF?? lol! Why is it that most customer service needs effin customer service!! lol! He called back again, and a different woman tells him that it says on her computer that a new phone was being shipped because our daughter's phone had screen malfunctions. At no time was anything even remotely close to that said in his first convo. People be trippin'!! lol!

Hi Joe,
My name is Alexander and I am from Costa Rica, I am admirer of your good music. In fact, when I was 12 years old the first album that I had heard from you, it was flying in a blue dream thanks to my older brother which had it in his personal music collection since 1989. It is that reason that one of my favorite songs is flying in blue dream, as same as are: Clouds race across the sky and If I could fly, these three songs for my they are like the continuing melodies about one story that I made, inspired in any way in these songs. My story is called: "Come, fly with me" yeah!!! like Sinatra's song. Someday my story will touch the heart of someone else and it will be the beginning of my dream come true. I like to share with you the poems that I had written for this story, I hope they can be read for you like lyrics of melodies that someone will compose, and why not someone like you, it would a priviledge for this modest man who admires your blessing talent.
1. For a lasting friendship
If the loneliness is just confusion
A good friendship makes easy a solution
Forget about any hardship
Cheers for the good friendship
A good friendship is for a bloomy future
That everybody joyfully wants to share
It is the most precious of all treasures
That everyone trustfully wants to take care
For a lasting friendship
For a lasting fellowship
Its heavenly warranty
Covers us to you and me
A good friendship is like a good teamwork
Let’s create together a remarkable artwork
Its footprint forever will touch our gentle hearts
It is the inspiration for all life’s brave hearts
Let’s seize on today
Like a unique day
Let’s celebrate tonight
Like an unforgettable night
For a lasting friendship
For a lasting fellowship
Its fraternal warranty
Covers us to you and me.
2. Stop wars (R.I.P)
Ashes to ashes
Dust to Dust
End of all cruelty and wars
Now more than ever
It’s about evolution
For a peaceful solution
A white congregation
Women release roses and butterflies
Men unfurl handkerchiefs
All together for encouraging winds
And sweet dreams
Stop wars, rest in peace
No more victims or regrets
No more in their solitary graves
No more, here and there
No more, anywhere
We have decided to dismantle
Its useless camouflage
We have decided to abolish
Its useless selfishness
We have decided to pacify
Its useless violence
With conscience and patience
Stop wars, rest in peace
No more warlike behaviors
No more for our human neighbors
No more, here and there
No more, anywhere
Stop wars, rest in peace
‘Cuz freedom is our divine right
Forever beating its inside light
3. Colors of Freedom
Across the world
Freedom is like a rainbow
Although the time
Changes the seasons
Keep always alive
Your good reasons
We know the best
Are in our active hands
Pour some human sense
For the harmony
Of our Beautiful Family
For the conservation
Of our Mother Nature
We are all the tomorrow’s people
Everybody joyfully sings
To be free
Like this song is for you and me
We are all the tomorrow’s people
Everyone trustfully lives
For freedom’s wings
For someday touchin' the sky
Like my wife and the butterfly
Like the eagle and I
We are colors of freedom
We are One.
Cheers, Alex.
You'll always be the best guitar man that I had never heard. God bless you, Joe.

Joe,
My name is Gregory Chase Schultze. I've been a huge fan since I was 4 listening to flying in A Blue Dream to Surfing with the Aliens. My dad got me hooked on your guitar riffs only people dream of funny thing is I cracked my head on my dads amp listening to Mystical Potato Head. Your an inspiration to me your one of the reasons why I picked up the baritone in band and of coarse I play a little drums. I love music more than anything but unfornately I don't have the money to goto one your concerts because I'm going to college to become a S.C. highway patrol men and A Marine Corps officer after college I plan to fall in my dads footsteps he was A U.S. Marine. I do my best to pick up the latest concert DVD you put out. One day I'll get an opportunity to goto a concert I can't wait!!!! My dad past away last year when I was 17 hes rocken out to flying in a blue dream that was his favorite song!!!!! Just from watching you gives me the motivation to do anything I put my mind to!!!!!!! Joe you are what true music is what todays music lacks. I see some of the post on youtube and think how could they say things like that this is the guy that gives inspiration to all the musicians in us all. And no I'm by far from sucking up to you I'm telling you how it is brother. I wish all the best of luck to you in your future performances and in your life. I ask that if you could reply to this I'd thank you for taking your time in doing so!!!!!
