P. Lily, so sorry about yer camper. Man that had to be scary! Hope you didn't have to much stuff in it. See, now if you would have had a motor home full of slugs, the moisture content would have put out the fire before it got out of control. Slugs are yer friend!
*shivers*

I love the Chickenfoot III samples...
Some songs are definitely heavier, but there's a poppier side to everything too. I think Alright Alright, Different Devil, or Something Gone Wrong would make a great single for mainstream rock radio.
I like Mikey's bass part on Come Closer. I like the R&B vibe of that one (of the sample, anyway). Dubai Blues has a cool bass part too.
I felt like the first Chickenfoot album was a great "driving fast" album...based on these samples, this sounds like it might be a great "driving in a convertible with the top down" album.
I don't want to form an opinion of the full album based on samples, but it does sound bluesier all around. I also think it sounds much more mature than a band's second album.
Is it release day yet?
...Austin...

DTS, I agree with your "more mature" comment. The spoken piece on "Three And A Half Letters" was haunting.
"Something Gone Wrong" starts of great, sounds like a real toe taper and head bopper.
I like all the bass riffs Michael is playing. I too will withhold judgment until I get to hear more of what Joe is bringing.
Definitely true, is it album release date yet??

I enjoyed all the samples, tangibly different to Foot I except Tree And A Half Letters which reminded me of Avenida Revolucion.
I think Different Devil has similarities to the Rolling Stones (Start Me Up?) does anybody hear that too?.
Joe is great on all of them of course.

Trouble with samples is that's exactly what they are, samples. They can be selected to give an idea of the general vibe but they can also be selected to lead you completely up the garden path as it were. However, i'm sure CF3 will be much better than CF1. It would be hard not to be.

Nice one T! Much better than the pics I RT'ed of Travis Barker's knuckle :-) LOL!
Enjoying the calm before the storm. It's overcast today, but I did see the sun peeking through the haze for about a minute. We're supposed to get the worst of it overnight and tomorrow morning. Should be wicked fun trying to sleep. Good excuse as any not to go into work. I feel bad for the peeps who are east of here.
Not so cool that it's college move-in weekend for a LOT of schools on the east coast. Gotta get our baby back to her little nook at her school today. Just need groceries and she's good to go. Thank God we moved all her furniture on Wednesday! It'll prolly take 30 minutes to go the last mile to her school. Everybody must move in as early as possibly today. They're calling for shit to go sideways after 2:00.
Oh yeah, gas prices will be going up again because they have to shut down refineries for the storm. Csuckers take every opportunity to screw the world. It already went up 4 cents and it at $3.39 where we go. $3.35 is the lowest it's been for a while, but I think it dipped to $3.27 for a minute. We shall see.
For now we must all enjoy the yahoo reporters who stand on the beaches while getting pummeled by sand, wind, & rain while trying to stay on their feet to report that the sand, wind, & rain is hitting them in the face and it's hard to stay on their feet. *sigh*

Right now the dark clouds race across the sky, but the wind is calm, and there's a light rain. It's like waiting all day for some sort of impending doom. lol! It should be here in a couple hours. O.C. MD is feeling it right now, but it's just the beginning. They are about 120 miles from the eye of the storm ffs! OC MD is about 3 hours from here.
Hopefully it won't be to bad...hopefully.
Time to find a good DVD to watch, maybe have a bit of Jager, and just relax while I can. Hope everyone east of me stays safe tonight.

Hey Joe,
We actually met a few years ago at the B.R. Cohn festival through Susan Cohn. I'm just another fan, but you treated me very respectfully, and I haven't forgotten it. My company has a new pedal on the market called the HYPERSLICER, and I think it's right up your alley. It's a unique futuristic sound that hasn't been overused yet. Check out our promo video at
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_lKA925Il8w
If you'd like to try one out, send me a message and I'll send you a pedal!
Keep rockin,
Ben

Hi Joe!
I was hoping you could help me our here with a question I have related to my gear. especially my pickups.
I've got a Standard Fender Strat HSS and a Marshal MG30FX combo amp.
I'm looking for a nice woody bluesy tone that will work for soloing. Do you have any idea how would the DiMarzio Mo'Joe humbucker sound with my Strat? I am either going to buy the DiMarzio AT-1 or your signature Mo'Joe bridge pickup.
Just hoping to get some expert advice from you. I will appreciate it very much. Thank you!
Ozair.
P.s. when are you coming to St.Louis, MO?

Toosh, Godsmack fan or Google fan? lol!
We fared pretty well through the storm. Some trees down as well as power lines, lots of branches, and lots of flooding. Also lots of peeps without electricity. It's still windy. It says 16 mph with 22 mph gusts. We've had higher winds with regular storms. I'm not complaining one bit, and feeling very, very grateful!
