Nice to see some Buckethead discussion going on... most of you probably know that I am maybe one of the biggest Buckethead fans (bot) that exists. I was weaned on Satch & Vai & MacAlpine & Moore etc. & imho Buckethead IS one of the most talented guitar players of our time. That said, I realize that some people won't agree and that's OK too.
Some of my favorite albums would have to be Pepper's Ghost, Albino Slug, Crime Slunk Scene, Decoding The Tomb Of Bansheebot and many, many more. In fact there is very little that I don't like, from the earliest stuff to the newer ones. If you want to hear some really nice "bluesy" style playing try out this one, (that whole album is wonderful, the first time he played with Travis Dickerson on keys) simply amazing. The 3 Thanatopsis CD's are also simply delicious. The very first Big B I ever heard was Monsters And Robots, it was love at first listen.
His softer albums are beautiful too. Colma, Electric Tears, Electric Sea and maybe one of my all-time favorites, his tribute to Michael Jackson: Captain Eo's Voyage.
Hopefully someone can find something to love in all of the above.
I was lucky enough to see Buckethead twice this year. Last June in Kansas City (with Pinchy & Del Ray aka the band) and just this past April 4th in Syracuse - The Frankenstein Brothers with another one of my all-time favorite musicians That1Guy. A dream come true for me, never dreamed I'd get to see those 2 play together!
smooches,

DJMat14 so sorry to hear about young David, that's just tragic :( Thoughts and prayers with his family and friends. I hope Joe's message brings them a little bit of comfort at this awful time. He's always been so uplifting, caring and encouraging to those who are hurting.
Chelle, and Peace, thanks for the good thoughts for Debbie. We were told on Thursday that if she "continued to improve" they'd move her out of ICU. But....she's still there and considered in serious condition. Absolutely beautiful person, wife, mother, co-worker, and friend to many. Praying she comes out of this okay. Meanwhile, the bus driver claims she was in a "blind spot" so that's why she hit her...and is still employed pending investigation. I'm mad, and sad and scared all at once. Her husband just lost his dad in a car accident a few months ago, he's got to be so scared.
Finally got a chance to watch disk 2 completely from the new Satchurated dvd...love it!! So much fun to see the behind-the-scenes stuff and how goofy everyone can be. It was also a nice surprise to find ourselves on the dvd in a couple different spots, wasn't expecting that at all! Also saw Do The Stu and Peace Lily and her hubby :) For yer first show ever with Joe Deb, you did GOOD! lol!!
Just got started on disk one but didn't get too far into it before we had to leave for a bit. Will catch the rest of it tomorrow :)
Looks fantastic Joe, great job, CONGRATS!!

I think out of all 25 songs on Satchurated, IMO Joe couldn't have done Dream Song any better. There's just something special about the way he did it that particular night. I have a lot of boots of the BSAWW tour and have heard all the songs played several different ways, and I thought Premonition would be my favorite, but he didn't play it the way I've come to like. But Dream Song is definitely my favorite off the entire album. Followed very closely by Pyrric Victoria and Andalusia, not necessarily in that order. Ice 9 even sounds like a new song to me coming out of the Marshall Amps. Love the new sound!
I'm not gonna lie, I haven't even listened to Satch Boogie or Summer Song. I REALLY wish he would play Slick in SB's place someday.
