Debs - I hadn't known him much more than a year but was absolutely impressed by him. A true gentleman with a passion for live music of any style. Just a few weeks ago we were talking about the band performing at my 25th wedding anniversary do and there was no sign at all that he may be about to cough and drop. Not only did no-one have a bad word about him, everyone always had something good to say about him. The world is a poorer place with his passing.

Hello! I'm from México and I want to ask for something that would mean the world to me. My husband's best friend is getting married on May and he is really a big fan of you Joe. He is a great guitar player he knows all your songs, has all your records and has been in many of your concerts. He is going to make a performance in his own wedding in honor to you and they are going to have their first husband and wife dance with one of your songs....
My request is only if you can send to my e mail a video of you wishing him and his wife to have a great life together... It won't take you more than one minute and you could really change his life forever, he may even forget about the other event.....
The idea is to play your video just after their dance!
Please please! I know how busy you are and probably you won't even have time to read this but if you do please it would be our best gift as best man and maid of honor! Hopefully this will get in good hands and reach you!! Thankyou!
Their names are Abel and Lily! And my e mail pragatan@hotmail.com

i was listening to "wind in the trees" and wanted to surf on the net about him and saw this:
18 MAY 2013 JOE SATRIANI ISTANBUL CONCERT.
whoohooo. this is the surprise. a surprise should be exactly like this. i couldn't watch his first concert in turkey in 2007, so this is the time.
and the details. DRUMMER MARCO MINNEMANN announced that he joined joe satriani for the next tour. we know him from "paul gilbert" and guthrie govan's "the aristocrats". he is really an amazing player. i'm glad that i will see him too.

Sorry Conch but imo JC is at best a competent drummist. I'd love to see Joe use someone like Omar Hakim, there are some really talented drummers out there but Joe has stuck by his friend.

Two Shay - joe played with a lot of good quality drummers. for example in his joe satriani album, manu katche did well contribituons on some songs(home, moroccan sunset etc...)but in some songs, joe didn't want him to play(there is a long video which shows the process of making joe satriani album on youtube, its name is REEL SATRIANI). for example jimi hendrix gave freedom to his drummer about playing. but he was harsh against the bass player. i think joe wants his drummer to play thinking about the song^s composition. drummer shouldn't spoil the composition, according to him. that's why jeff campitelli is a good choice of his compositional system. jeff catches what joe's thinking. an another little exampe. lars ulrich is not a super drummer but with him metallica composed great songs. he served well as a musician.
on the other hand i wonder how marco minnemann will perform on joe's songs. will we hear some different touchings on the drum set? how much will joe let his freedom of playing?

Toosh, I've been saying it for years now that with every tour Jeff gets better and better. He's improved by leaps and bounds in his live shows, and even makes the old songs sound better. Like netknight said, Joe & Jeff have the same rock vibe and work well together. If Joe felt he needed a different sound, I'm sure he'd find someone to fit it. I got nothing bad to say about Jeff's playing with Joe. He does what he does very well. Joe has a reason he picks his band the way he does, and I don't think he picks Jeff just because of their friendship.
