I ordered my copy a day or two after it was announced.
I ordered without hesitation and without any regret!
My question, is this normal to order a new music release without actually listening to a single note first?
I've been a Satchaholic since almost the beginning (1989) There's isn't anything wrong with me. Am I the definition of "fanatic"? I'm OK with that.
My name is Blue Buffalo aka Freddy and I'm a SATCHAHOLIC.
Now hurry up with my next fix....

Mark Knopfler‘s world tour just got a little shorter. Citing his disagreement with the Russian government’s current crackdown on human rights groups, the former Dire Straits frontman has canceled upcoming gigs in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
The NME reports on Knopfler’s decision to pull out of the June concerts, explained in a message posted to his website which reads, “Given the crackdown by Russian authorities on groups including Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, I have regretfully decided to cancel my upcoming concerts in Moscow and St. Petersburg. I have always loved playing in Russia and have great affection for the country and the people. I hope the current climate will change soon.”
As the NME’s article recounts, Knopfler’s misgivings stem from a series of raids on Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, and the Russian civil rights group Memorial, recently targeted by government prosecutors and tax officials. This isn’t the first time he’s expressed dismay over goings-on in the former Soviet Union; the report quotes his response to the legal woes suffered by the members of Pussy Riot last year (see their story here), which read “Whenever a political regime or religious establishment refuses to tolerate criticism it advertises itself as repressive, backward and insecure. This verdict will diminish Russia in the eyes of the world. I condemn the prison sentences given to these young people and support the right to protest for everyone.”

Hey Satch!! I am a coordinator for a Photo/ Video/ Media company here on Guam (at the moment) and one of countless struggling musicians (but then again; who's counting?)...For future realistic/ unimaginable productions sake, you may want consider this an intro to some kind of proposed thought and anticipated discussions of you visiting this place to some degree to maybe get the word out to people from this side of the world on your views as a musician/ mentor. Just saying!! Call it what you will, but I see no plans on you visiting in the current tour schedule so, I would have to wait for your next US Tour... Peace and have fun with the tour!!

Deb, it may all be just to heavy for her right now and she may need some help that she "thinks" she doesn't want. Depression is a f'n monster, and when you can't think properly you can make some pretty regrettable decisions. I don't know the laws in OR, but you might want to look into it and see what your options are. As always, there is 911 if shit gets deep and backup is needed. Will she go to counseling and get on medication? If she's already on medication for depression, if it's not right for her it could also cause suicidal thoughts and make things worse. Some of those drug side effects are a bitch. Just keep trying to talk to her and keep the lines of communication open. Make unscheduled visits to see how she's doing. Try to stay calm when talking to her and offer to take her out for coffee or whatever she likes. If she's not to bad, take the grandkids to visit her to remind her that there are people HERE that need her. I don't know her situation, and I'm not a professional, so all I can do is try to be a friend. I'll throw you a quick email just to make sure you have my email addy. If you need me, holler.

Sad news indeed.
Legendary producer Andy Johns passes away
08 April 2013
by Amelia Parrott
Legendary British sound engineer and producer Andy Johns has died.
During his more-than-thirty-year career, Johns worked with some of rock music’s biggest names, engineering records for Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Mott the Hoople and Joni Mitchell, while producing for the likes of Free, Van Halen and Television.
Following in the footsteps of older brother and Olympic Studios engineer Glyn Johns - best known for his work with the Steve Miller Band, The Who and Eagles – Johns learned the engineering ropes as a teenager in the early '60s, working under Eddie Kramer on Jimi Hendrix recordings.
Johns was perhaps best known for his collaborations with Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones. He began his working relationship with Led Zeppelin in the late '60s with Led Zeppelin II and continued working with the band until 1975’s Physical Graffiti.
He engineered five records by the Rolling Stones, including the iconic Sticky Fingers and Exile on Main Street album, as well as producing Television's seminal Marquee Moon record.
Details of Johns’ death have not yet emerged. TMN will update this story as more information comes to hand.
