burly: I can just picture it now. Sammy singing "If I Could Fly".
You know, I've always had a hard time understanding wolf's posts. So I got to thinking, bongs... maybe thats the answer! Nope! tried it, still got no idea what the fuck he posts. Might try Beer's and Bong's, that might make things clearer. I might just go back to wolfs first post, copy each n every one of them and make a book out of it. What say you wolf?

Al McKenna--Why is it you who points out that it's OK to differ in opinion with Joe on sound components and song choices? It should be self-evident that Joe doesn't have all the answers to everyone's equipment needs/tastes. In fact I think Joe welcomes differences of opinion on song choices, etc. Good for you being different and enlightening! My favorite kind of luni!!! ;-)
Maritime--I hope you are taking good care of yourself before taking care of your family/friends. It's not easy taking medications every day--I know that from my own experience. I hope the meds don't have much in the way of side effects. I hope you have the best doctors working for ya! Now if we could encourage good dentistry outside the United States of America, world wide health would get a needed boost. I just had the 2nd in a series of 3 dental appointments for getting replacement crowns on my top front incisors....no fun; however, I am glad for the preventive aspect of health it has provided for me since I was a wee girl. My parents insisted in excellent dental health because of what they experienced growing up.

Michelle--I hope your sister is on the road to feeling better. You are such a great sister to be her best friend and support person. Sisters and brothers (by blood or not) are such great support to each other in the spirit of generousity, humility and compassion. Love takes so much hard work, but it is worth every sacrifice and the give and take involved enriches even those who witness the give and take interactions!
Do the Stu--What a welcome sight to see your posts. You have so much to share. I learn a lot from your experiences.
Al McKenna--This old woman has much to learn from the younger generations--much more than you will ever know.
Thanks to all the T2Jers on this site.

Since some people have joined the conversation, I'd like to say I agree with Austin, the set list is pretty static... Having "Time Machine" and "One Big Rush" on the last tour made it for me (taking "Out of the Sunrise" out did not!)... We understand that the fans ask for the classics, so I wouldn't touch the end tunes (Always, Surfing) or the encore (Crowd Chant, Summer Song), but I'd definitely could do without Cool # 9 or Ice 9, for example... I love them a lot but I think I've be willing to sacrifice them to put things like "Time" back on the list...
Anyway, we should organize two polls, one to see which songs should come back, and another one to see which ones should take a break...
Regarding JOE doing his tunes with Chickenfoot, I think he should take pointers from Slash (I thought I'd never say that!!)... I mean, Slash doesn't play GnR's signature tunes with Velvet Revolver, you know? He doesn't play "Welcome to the Jungle" or Sweet Child of Mine", he plays things like "Used to love her"... Having said that, no other pointers should be taken from Slash, :) please...
If I was JOE, I'd play "If I could fly" with Chickenfoot... I'd go further and sample Chris Martin's voice and make an intro like the one on "Flying in a Blue Dream"... But I'm an a-hole, and JOE is not so I don't think that would ever happen, so just the tune would do...
Or a more serious note, having Sammy sing "Big Bad Moon" or "I like the rain" would be very interesting...

hybes - Tones is an excellent album...I wish EJ would play a bit more of that live. I wish it were a bit more popular, too...everyone reading this needs to go buy it! :-)
Pip Satriani - Exactly! Haha...
When I saw Sammy last year, Michael Anthony came out to play for the last half of the show. Sammy got on his knees in the middle of the stage, did that "Heeellooo Baaabyyy" scream and Mikey came running out. They did Good Enough, Why Can't This Be Love, and Best Of Both Worlds and then some other Sammy stuff.
I wouldn't mind hearing Chickenfoot do Good Enough, actually...hmmm.
slanshroom - I'll go with an explanation that's been used on the X-Files for a few different things. There's probably very little at Groom Lake, but if the government is so silent about it everyone will be interested in it...and then they won't go looking for other sites that actually have more stuff.
cheese101 - I think it'd be cool for the album to open with Joe kinda screwing around, like on that teaser clip...two or three seconds of that and then everything comes in at once, at 11.
cosmic_ape - Yeah, that's a great point about Slash in Velvet Revolver. Although they did some STP songs, too, and went with their big hits (Interstate Love Song and Plush, to name two). So let's hope Satch looks to Slash and not Scott Weiland.
I could get behind Sammy singing Big Bad Moon...I bet he'd really like that song, actually...
Listening to: The Yardbirds - Roger The Engineer (current song: What Do You Want)

Hi Joe!
Im from a beutifull country known as New Zealand. I saw you perform at a guitar festival held in New Plymouth last year and man you rocked!!!!! ( OVERDRIVER WAS SO COOL!!! ) I started playing guitar at the age of 6 and got serious about the Instrument at the age of 9. An Uncle of mine introduced me to the Surfing with the Alien album and after hearing that i was hooked and there was no going back or giving up i wanted to know everything about the guitar and understand the language it spoke. For 23 years now ive been trying to understand how you could bring so much joy and emotion to your playing, im mean just a slide or a bend can have such an impact on someone and listening to A love Eternal did wounders for me emotionally. Im guessing my Question from me to you is......How do you do it? I understand that the Great Jimi Hendrix had such a big influence on you and yourve tried so hard not to copy him but it just keeps coming out, i wish i could play just like you not to the extent of being a copy cat or anything but just to go and find out where you go when your playing the guitar what drives you to create such beutifull music because i really love your stlye and artistry. Thanks for listing to my carrying on and wish to see more of you in our country... SOON PLEASE ahhaha. take C are
