Yes I am still alive in the real world, and start at T2J with a clean slate (but still a dirty mind). So minus 500 T2J-posts. Working on new healthy lifestyle, new beginnings, new focus, new priorities, trying new ways of handling things.
Mr. McKenna when you sobered up after the Grand Slam celebrations I'd like to hear your new purple Ibanez. If you can find the time.
Do The Stu, you are an impressive writer and you have made a detailed Chickenfoot analysis. But when you are done analyzing I suggest you drop your pants and put your balls against the speakers and have a remote idea of what the rest of us feel when we hear exciting music. Give it a go! :-)
Burly thanx for your email.
When I listened to the Chickenfoot tracks on their Myspace sound quality was better than when I listened to the embedded popup on the Chickenfoot site. Dunno why, but it was clear. So I recorded from the Myspace and play (and mp3-ed) those.
I am trying to program Joe's Chickenfoot sound on my POD X3 Live. Both one-tone and dual tone, based on Down The Drain. May still be a while before I got it right. But I got loads of time on my hands...

Folks..a new supergroup is out..well kinda...Not Chichenfoot but I thought is was worth mentioning, since the groups drummer is one of my mentors,...Bun E. Carlos of Cheap Trick..The rest of the band is made up from former members of Smashing Pumpkins, Fountains of Wayne and ,...hold on to your hats...HANSON,s former front man...Not really my thing but I give 'em a thumbs up for recruiting BUN E....Live at Budokan...what an album for 1980...Bun E. has lost his trademark cigarette and dropped quite a few pounds for a healthier lifestyle.
Tinted Windows
Before I step on someone's toes with the comments about Gary Cherone and Patty Smyth, let me say that I did not mean to take anything away from their abilities,..They are both talents in their own right...It just didn't mix with VH.
Good Sunday..and Monday:)

Gary and Patty might be good for a one off gig with VH just for fun, but for a job as singer in VH - um...no.
burly, I dig NASCAR too. I get some of my best sleep listening to the race. LOL! I never miss anything because they replay everything, so if I hear excitement, I just open my eyes and catch it on the replay. There for a little while, if I didn't want to sleep during a race I literally had to leave the room or turn it off because the sound of it was like a lullaby calling me to the sofa for some sleep. lol! Since Rusty retired, my husband and I don't really care who wins so much. I like Kahne and Jr.
Speaking of Super groups and Gary Cherone - he does have a great voice.

the volume knob on JOE's guitar is probably there to allow him to change the output more quickly... A strat knob is easier to manipulate than an ibanez one, imo...
according to the pictures recently posted, sammy is playing guitar and he had his cabs modded to fashion a Chickenfoot logo! pretty cool stuff...
Austin, start applying for rolling stone magazine...

people say the ending of "Soap" sounds like the "Always" extended ending because it does! It's an improvisation on B mixolydian, just like "Always"... the "Always" part has a chord progression but this new one is just a one chord vamp, though...
I wonder if JOE was thinking of Brian May when he came up with the "Down the Drain" intro... the middle section has a vibe kind of like from "The Extremist" and "Time Machine" albums
I am digging this Chickenfoot stuff!

Burly, would be nice if there was a downloadable version of the Mode Master. I have a tool like that, but the childish colors of this one are quite handy! (to find arpeggio notes for example)

Looks like poor Joe has to protect his guitar at all times standing next to Chad. He's pretty animated, as are the rest of the RHCP. Maybe Joe should stand next to Mike at the other end from now on. At least his guitar would have a chance for survival. lol!
Thanks for the heads up!

Michelle: I am not doing so great. Thanks for asking;)So here it goes.
I had a preminition dream about 10 months ago that I was going to meet a girl.I saw her eyes & heard her voice telling me "You are the one for me" then she grabbed me with both arms & took me away. About a month later I did meet a girl that had the same eyes & voice. She did grab me with both arms & say "You are the one for me"!. We dated for a month and fell deeply in love. She asked me to move in,so I did.A week after I moved in, her x-boyfriend called her out of the blue. She told me it was over between them.A few months went by then I started to have bad dreams that we moved far away then she told me she was leaving me to go back to him.I saw the look in her eyes in my dream .We also kept seeing the # 226 when we went away or just out & about. We did not know what it meant. We also were going to get married. So I wanted it to be the wedding day.About 2 months ago we moved to Maryland from Florida because She & I both lost our jobs & the only place for us to go was my mothers house.I left all of my stuff at her moms house. We were in Md. about a month. On 2/26/09, She told me she was leaving me to go back to Florida to her boyfriend.I am devistated & she didn't even shed a tear!. I had to drive 3 hours to baltimore to put her on a plane home. The past few weeks have been a nightmare. She left me all alone. She got the money to go back to Florida from her x & didn't offer me a way back to Florida. Now they are back at her mom's & all my stuff is still there. She was trying to get rid of me all along. This has been the worst experience of my life!;(.....
I am sorry to say but her name was Michelle. Don't worry,You are a "Good / Michelle" I am not holding a grudge on that name..lol..
Pretty freaky stuff huh?...

Aww hon, that really sucks. I'm so sorry.
Most people call me Shelly or "Chelle", so you can shorten it if it helps.
Any way she would be kind enough to at least pack it up and send some of it to you? Maybe you could go through her mother instead of talking to her again? Man, that sucks, but at least yer "home". Good luck with the job thing too. Times are tough, but I have faith that you'll shine again soon.

Michelle: I am going back to Florida.I really love it there. My stuff is safe. Her brother & I are good friends & he is watching it for me.
Pretty scary dreams huh?...I will always listen to my dreams from now on!.
I actually love the name Michelle. It really is my favorite. So there is no problem there.;) I can't stay here for too much longer because the house is being sold in May.
Thank you for the sympathy. It really has been Hell for me.
Last night I went to the local pub. A beautiful woman just walked up to me & said "You are a really cool guy". " I don't know what you have been through but everything is going to be O.K".!....."God is with you"..Then gave me big hugs & kiss's..I was touched & shocked at the same time. She was like an Angel sent to give me a message...then she left. I will never forget that;)

I like the new video. Is that a new white JS that Joe has that he's doodled on? Talking to him after the last show on the PSATMOR tour it sounded like he was giving his white guitar to Leslie West after he used it for the encore. I think that guitar had gold writing on the headstock...this one looks like it has white writing. So maybe it's a different gutiar. Anyone?
And webmaster Jon, I see you made a quick cameo at the end...very nice!
scubadaz - Oh, but I'm talking about when I read T2J at work. I can't bookmark the page on my computer there, for obvious reasons, so when I go to T2J there it's always through the front of the site...
burly - I actually quite like Van Halen III...we talked about it a bit here a few months ago; it probably would've been just before you joined the site. I'd put it in the top half of their catalog, but my musical tastes are a bit weird sometimes.
I heard about the Patty Smyth possibility...that would have been different for sure.
It's unfortunate, but I've given up on new music from Van Halen. There have been several "What if..." opportunities over the past ten years or so, and they just haven't fully taken advantage of any of them. Argh...
Oh, and thanks for the info on the Bun E Carlos project...I like Cheap Trick quite a bit, but I had no idea...
cosmic_ape - But I HATE Rolling Stone magazine...that's part of the problem, haha.
SuperSwingDog - Is it a matter of not being able to stream the songs, or do you have a bandwidth cap that you can't exceed? Would it help if you received the songs as email attachments?
...Austin...
