burly - let's hope you're right. Here's something new I learnt last night -
1. electric guitars are really heavy if you are standing up, and the strap rubs your neck
2. if you stand up the neck keeps falling down toward the floor and you have to try to keep the neck up and play the notes at the same time
3. when you stand up the guitar body is REALLY vertical unlike when you sit and hunch over it, and you don't get as good a visual of the first 3 strings compared to sitting down with head bent over it
4. I can't become a rock goddess without standing up so somehow I have to conquer 1,2 and 3 :0)

Thanks Roo.....You're the best....."The dots are where I say they are"....:-)
Skippy- the tele is heavy...You are a tiny one aren't you?...I'm guessing you have the strap adjusted all the way in.?.?.I am a player not a teacher so if any of you others have a different idea, fire away, but...I would concentrate on learning sitting down if you can't cure the problem with the strap. You don't need that distraction, and besides as you learn you will " feel " where you are on the neck, and then you can make the transition to standing.
Roo............LOL...Is skippy that small?..would she benefit from learning on a Mikro?..Or is the mikro any lighter than the tele?. I have never picked one up.

Hey Joe,
I just wanted to thank you for all the great tunes you have given the music world. You are a truly talented man. I'm sure you hear this all the time however it doesn't change the facts.
Your music inspires generations of upcoming musicians and that is a rare side effect now a days. I've been jamming along with your songs for years and it has taught me many things. Melodic phrases are the most important not just raw speed. Note selection in any given scale that applies creates the tone and gives it the soul and thoughtful consideration the song demands. Rubina is a perfect example of the afore mentioned theories.(Love that tune.)
Also your humble disposition is a refreshing change from the
ego driven Rockstars that we all know. Thanks again for all the memories.
Peace,
Derrick R.

loll, thanks for the link. I haven't seen it before, so I don't know if it was posted or not? I don't have time to click on all the links and sometimes the good ones slip by.
fatape, delay post was funny!
Slan, I still have yer cabo wabo link on deck. I'll get to 'em sooner or later.
I've decided...I need a maid! Not that I'll ever get one, I just really need one. lol!
which brings me to this. I love these old NY vids. I can actually say they're some of my fav vids ever. Guess they remind me of one of the only things I had in my heart as a youngin' - music... cause sometimes music is all a person has.
So off I go for another relaxing day off...NOT! lol! Time for some house cleaning and all that goes with being a domestic Goddess. lol!
Old man take a look at my life I'm a lot like you...
Jayzus I love Neil Young

Good find loll, but anyone notice the spelling error with the tour dates? At the top of the list "Saturday June 20 AUSTRIA Nova Rock Festival". That's not how you spell "AUSTRALIA". I hope the boys don't get lost. (a bit of back up from the aussies here would really help about now)

I'm after your thoughts here. We're all here because we love Joe's music. Joe in a band, is completely new to us, and we love the new sound with a singer. Sammy Hagar fans love Sammy's voice and will follow him, as we do with Joe. Will CF just sound like another band playing behind Sammy for them?

Ozzy, dude... Joe comes through with his Satriani sound loud and clear. People will say "Where the hell have I been that I don't know this Satriani guy?" or as I've heard many times "Is that the guitar player from the 80's?" Sure, Sammy is all upfront, but they give Joe plenty of weedly weedly woo woo woo time in the two songs I've heard.
I'm on my second listen to this. Good stuff!
Back to dusting...

loll - I haven't seen that link either. Thanks. I also noticed that it had a US release date of June 7th. I wonder if that is factually correct.

Ozzy - you were saying yesterday that you had a chance to listen to the entire album. If you had never heard of Joe, would you be intrigued enough by the guitar work to look further into it to see who was playing?

D_O_M - That website says due out in June also. Hmmm. I wonder if there's anyway we can get confirmation from the webmaster or from Joe.

Someone should call Do the Stu and tell him about the show Chickenfoot is doing in San Fran tomorrow night. Or is he still off on vacation? He will be bummed he's missing it.
