Ozzy Fudd that pedalboard looks nice
A bit of Google and you find lots of ideas
If you read a dozen articles and watch some videos you will get a clear vision of what you want your pedalboard to offer. And check this out. I really like the V-shaped ones.

cheese101 - Thanks for the info about the Bone, and the email. I listened for a bit but didn't catch the individual songs from each Chickenfoot member. Do you remember what they were?
And to answer your email question, you haven't heard anything about the Jeff Beck show from Brian or myself because...it hasn't happened yet! It's this coming Thursday...
satchblues - Ah, yeah you have been here for a while...your post had the "hey, I'm a longtime fan and I just got tickets" vibe that a lot of posts from newcomers seem to have, so I guess I got confused. ;-)
I've been a Sammy fan since his split with Van Halen in the 90s, and I've since gone back and gotten into his earlier stuff. I saw VH on their 2004 reunion tour, but I didn't see a Sammy solo show until last summer. I'm really excited about the Cinco de Mayo gig, as it looks like it'll be his last before Chickenfoot.
I'm not really expecting any Chickenfoot-related surprises, since the tour starts less than two weeks after this show. I can see Mikey making a guest appearance, but he does that all the time at Sammy solo shows anyway.
And lastly...Oz Noy sounds interesting to me. Is there an album you'd recommend? I'm a huge EJ fan...
Listening to: Jeff Beck - Blow By Blow (current song: Scatterbrain)
I bought this album and Guitar Shop at Amoeba tonight... I'm fairly familiar with most of his work, but the only CDs I have are from his Yardbirds days (along with one Jeff Beck Group compilation album). I'm impressed with what I've heard so far... :-)

Joe - some blue!!!!!!!! I KNEW it was about to happen, thanks for the update. Best of luck with the Chickenfoot project, I hope the November turning point is positive and you book a tour to Oz. As someone said, when you are super-famous just remember we loved you first :0)
Bugger! I went for a 30km bike ride and then took my daughter to the footy and missed the blue!!
Do The Stu - I highly recommend you pull out your super-special Time Machine CD and have a read, it's a great piece of writing in my opinion.
And so ends the weekend......

cosmic_ape - Thanks for posting that interview... Wow, after hearing how Down The Drain was written I have to say I'd LOVE to hear Joe do an acoustic version of Rubina's Blue Sky Happiness as an intro to that song on the Chickenfoot tour. Something like this version of the song (Does anyone know where this is from?).
I think it'd be neat for them to recreate that in-studio moment onstage every night...
scubadaz - Oh, OK. I assume you at least know the album names...right? You can just throw some track numbers at me, if it's easier...I'll decipher it. ;-)

Two things worth sharing:
Chickenfoot - Rock And Roll
This is from the show in Las Vegas in February 2008. David Lauser from Sammy's band is also on drums, and the video is shot from just behind him, so the sound is kinda rough.
Ultimate Guitar interview with Sammy Hagar
This is from January, but I don't think it was ever posted here. Sammy has some very nice things to say about Joe throughout.
Well, I'm off to bed...good morning, michelle! ;-)

Is that the real Joe with a personal profile on Facebook? It seems a little suspect to me. Although he is tagged in all the Chickenfoot page pics. Can anyone shed light on this?

Why did I choose the few days when all the Chickenfoot stuff happens to go away? Geez and the chance to watch/listen to a Joe interview....oh well.
JSPhil: Forbidden fruits and all that eh? Got some good mountain biking done in Scotland these past few days...ever heard of the 7 Stanes? Great fun...and the weather was good!
fatape: Love the Lizzy story, my dad went to see them in '76 (I think) in Liverpool and they just tramped through the lobby right through everyone waiting to go in. He said it was one of those 'mouth hanging open whilst gibbering and pointing' moments.
Personally I think it would be great if Joe did something really obscure like 'The Snake' with CFoot.. That's a real gem of a song that I've never really heard mentioned before. Oh yes, my G3 Live in Tokyo CD came a few days ago (when I wasn't here) it took a looong time, but that's 'cos it came from the US. There's a huge FBI copyright warning on it...seems odd that they are warning me that I could be 'Prosecuted under Federal law' but there you go.

cosmic_ape, thanks for the interview link! From there I also read the one put up on 11-15-08, I think I missed that one when it came out.
I like reading about the CF songs, always love getting more background. I've already listened to them a few times, but now am going back to listen again with more perspective on how they came about, etc.....so cool! To know that "Down The Drain" kinda started with some inspiration from "Rubina's Blue Sky Happiness" and the guys just took off from there and basically instantly came up with this new song....it's heady stuff to realize....music is truly a magical thing. And you just can't quantify the mystery of how artists write music, how it comes to them. Sometimes I guess it is just as 'simple' as 4 people coming together, bringing their musical history and talents and *poof* out comes a song. Like a chicken laying an egg, LOL!! :D
I know it's not simple by any means.....these guys represent years and years of hard work and training....besides each one of them housing massive talent in their bodies. I suppose that's part of the beauty of the whole thing...they make it look so easy :) Sometimes I almost believe even I could do it, lmao.....yeah right, maybe in an alternative universe!
Chelly, chelly, chelly....at least yer honest about the whole ting... 'or at least until the next time'....LOL...can't wait to get you and Mc together. All I can say is....watch out cuz I'll be packin...my video camera :)))))))))
Oh, and yes, there is one real Joe Satriani on facebook :) And many, many fakes. I know they cleared them all out over on youtube, mebbe they'll be able to do that on facebook at some point. Joe is even a 'twitterer', LOL!
Ahhhhhhhhh the informational computer age....both a blessing and a curse!!

That was a great interview with Joe....Thanks, cosmic_ape!
Tracie--Please come to San Fran.....I would like to roll out the red carpet for you at the Fillmore. Let's let Joe know how we feel about him and Chickenfoot!
Regarding the interview and questions about lawsuit/Coldplay.....Joe, I had nothing to do with Milli Vanilli......I guess I could sue them for misusing my name! LOL! I think there is a huge difference in approach to the common melody and rhythm of "If I Could Fly" and "Viva la Vida". Your approach was light-hearted, fun. Coldplay had a more serious, melancholy approach to Viva la Vida. When I listen to one song and then the other (I like them both) I can tell the different modes/moods using the same melody......interesting how musicians approach their music and weave their feelings (often very complex) into the song from their own unique perspective.
Weather in south sf bay area--sunny and clear with warming trend to near 30 degrees C or 89 degrees F. Summer in April? A bit early I say.
Scubadaz---You used to be an Ibanez guy....but no longer. My bad for not keeping up. I live in Dweeb land. ;-/
Igneousiceman or scubadaz? One of you is listening to Steve Vai music........Could you please recommend some of his albums.....I already have just the one--Passion and Warfare. Any suggestions? Joe's and Steve Vai's music sounds great in tandem. Aaaaahhhhh!

There is only ONE Joe Satriani!! He has become one with his guitars like no other person alive......Facebook, myspace, youtube and all the rest can't change our genius Joe Satriani! He is walking the road of Mozart, Beethovan, Stravinsky, Bach, Schubert, Brahms, Handel and Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Brian May, Jeff Beck...and on and on in the 21st century with his "closet" of electric guitars and 21st century pedals.....just the way guitar music was meant to develop and progress!

GG2, thanks, but no need to roll any red carpet out, unless it's for the band. My son and I have been to San Fran quite a few times now and I have figured out my navigation...been to both The Fillmore and The Warfield more than once, so we're good. We just enjoy hangin with our peeps, waiting for the show. Hope you and your husband have a good time, but it's Chickenfoot, how could anyone have anything but a great time!
Unless other people try to ruin it.....that happens, like people who are too drunk to know their own name and they are falling and slobbering all over u.....gawd, I hate when that happens!
dream3...Jamie....has anyone responded to your request for a Chickenfoot poster yet? If not, and you want me to, I'll see if the merch booth has them for sale and could pick one up for you...email me if u still need help. I don't overcharge either, lol! Just the price of the poster plus the costs of mailing is all :)
Austin, I had to leave before they played any of the guys' music or a Chickenfoot tune, so I also didn't get a chance to call in on the free tickets....did you hear them play "Oh Yeah"? That's the song they would play, I'm assuming...and did you try to win tickets? Anyway, if you need more, hope you score on the public sale today...log in EARLY and BUY IMMEDIATELY, lol!! I know you know that :) And derrrr, my bad, I thought Jeff Beck was last Thursday so okay....you and Brian are good and can report the end of THIS week, lol!!
Oh, and yer question on the acoustic version of "Rubina's Blue Sky Happiness".....dang, I know I posted a link to that before and where it came from...hafta do some digging...I think it was for a radio show but not totally sure yet....I love the version. That song in any form just makes me happy too...and my name isn't even Rubina :)
Dang, now that's gonna bug me till I find it......
Edit, my bad, it was actually gruskada who posted the link on t2j back in 2007, from the foreverjoe.com media page....a lady comes on at the end of it and says "Joe Satriani, recorded live acoustically for "Off The Record".
But I guess I was part of it after all, lol....I have the cd of the interview show and had sent it to Sam at foreverjoe to put up on his site....it was dated Nov 1992 and the entire interview is up on the media page....I guess it's from there. Hafta go back and listen to the whole interview. It's a good one! And yep, that song is in the beginning of part 3 of that 3 part interview.
