Glitz - I just plan on taking it easy, polishing off some barley-pop and cranking the ChicKenfoot waaaaay up! Wifey took the day offa work too so we may have to rock the house a little (or a lot) while the kids are away. Less than 2 hours left for being thirty-something. I think I can already feel the crisis coming on... (jk!)
smooches,

My Chickenfoot cd shipped yesterday too. It would be awesome if I would get it tomorrow. I'll have the house to myself and could play it as loud as I want.
elpp, lol! I didn't get to use the soccer chant yet. We did have a Chickenfoot chant going before the band came out. Sammy said that was pretty cool.
Happy Birthday to all that are having one this week. Happy wedding day to all that got married this week. Happy FOOTDAY to all those that get their Chickenfoot cds/albums this week.

Glitzy - ah lots of things my friend.
I have the new office carpeted and now have to wait for the builder to fit off the data points so I can take a puter up there and set it up to use for guitar practice and other stuff. I find I use alot of online resources, most of all peeps playing guitar on youtube (hint to those who assisted there) until I can get some lessons. Once the PC is setup I will be able to get through more of "Ten Words" which I am keen to do first. And it will also stay put and not have to be packed up or moved.
I can strum things on the acoustic a bit quicker now although if I try to speed up I don't make a clean sound so I have to slow down again. Nevertheless I can hack out "Father and Son". Well, it sounds like Father and Son if I sing as well :0). I can sorta look at the songbooks and begin to play songs roughly, I find working out the right strumming is the hardest part.
I would love to be able to play Andalusia one day with my brother-in-law the flamenco guitarist doing the first part. Was also listening to Deep Purple the other day and I'd like to learn some of their songs.
Were any of my brain tactics useful to your running performances??

Phydeaux this it what I call ROCK, listen to it (loud with a good amount of bass) and after that imagine Sammy calling "ariba ariba" and try to keep a straight face...
glitz man on a scale of 1-10 I go for 6. I find myself skipping the album on my iPod, and if I do play the album it's not on repeat. Being a big big and longtime fan of Joe as an instrumental guitar virtuoso doesn't automaticly mean everything he does is for me...
do the stu I made stills of the 'hidden pedal' and enlarged, but haven't an idea what it may be. Two small knobs with two small switches in between, one big turning knob to the right. Chorus? Pogger? Octaver? Looked at other recent pics people made of Joe's board but no revelations there.
The DiMarzio Dsonic pickup has absolutely great definition, specially in the low end. So impressive huge chords, without being muddy. But haven´t managed to squeeze out the Petrucci solo tone yet. In spite of using all different Rectifier modeling. Have to try the pickup in one of my other guitars.
And now back to learning the new options of ProTools 8.0. Which means 138 pages of information.... but it does look cool.

This is the background to a UK TV channel promo at the moment. Been ages since I've listened to this. Classic track:
Rage Against The Machine - Killing in the name of
Do The Stu - not sure, I'll check my sent in a mo & forward.
Igneousiceman - that roger williamson incident was bad! Senna was awesome. Keep us posted on the TT's. I saw Sex & Religion live.... as did my Mum. Ho ho, she went off Steve Vai there and then due to some stage antics
michelle - thanks for those vids, COOELL... oh, & the camera info, ta
Skippygirl - sounds like a really nice setup. Are you going to decorate the walls with Satch stuff?
burly - thanks for the update. I didn't catch any of it but from what I understand he was having tyre issues.
Satchblues - nice CF vids, thanks
Guitarvibes - thanks for posting the MusicRadar link. I thought the JS line were always Paf Pro & Fred until Mo Joe was released, but that's all
Clarky - hey there, how you doin? Long time no post. What ya been up to?
Glitzman - susan boyle is in rehab, fast track to being a star there. To be fair, she had nervous exhaustion
Summertime.... is pretenting to be here... but I don't believe it
Have a great day everyone

I was in Best Buy today (to buy Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog on DVD) and saw a Chickenfoot promo on a sandwich board outside the store. It was a band photo with their names and 6/5/09 underneath. The top said "Rock puts its best foot forward", which I thought was pretty cool.
Phydeaux_3 - Ah, That 1 Guy...I saw him open for Buckethead back in November. Al/Blue_Moon was at that gig as well.
I thought he was really cool...very creative, and he had a good sense of humor about everything he was doing too. I didn't realize he had recorded with Buckethead, but I guess that makes sense considering the tour. I'll have to find that album...
Aaand...happy 40th birthday!
Zinc Master - Fun game, but like scubadaz and cosmic_ape I beat it rather quickly (two tries for me). The key: think big.
iup11 - Hi...welcome to the site! Cool to hear that you enjoyed the Philly show.
elpp - Haha...I've never seen it before, but that commercial is great! Thanks for sharing it...
Guitarvibes - Maybe you missed his reply to me...Ethn Hayabusa said he thinks it's a Fulltone Mini-Deja Vibe. I looked up a picture of it and I think that could be it. I play bass, not guitar, so I can't identify pedals as easily as a lot of people here
I thought it may have been a prototype for something based on how quickly Mike moved it from out of view of the camera...but I guess not.
Zenfish - Interesting band (Saw)...thanks for sharing that link.
Pip Satrini - I don't remember if Guitarvibes mentioned it in his original post, but one of Joe's chrome guitars used on the LISF CD/DVD had Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates pickups in it. It was nicknamed Pearly and was the guitar stolen in Clearwater, Florida, on the 2002 tour with Dream Theater and King's X.
Listening to: Porcupine Tree - Nil Recurring (current song: What Happens Now?)

Al - FFS get a life or a job mate :0)
guitarvibes - I find myself going back to Down The Drain, My Kinda Girl, Learning to Fall and Turnin' Left more than the others. The CD isn't in store here till 12 June - bugger - and no sign of the LP.
Pip-My-Lovely - I have to share the office but I should be able to dominate it (haha) I have a feeling I'll be putting fretboard diagrams and that sort of stuff on the walls. Picked up a few more CD's recently i.e. the Seville one.
Do The Stu - I have no idea WTF that vid is but if you review it once you get it do let us know !
burly - GOOD MORNING when can we expect the vid of the burly show?
Listening.....that beatbox improv boy it's addictive
Drinking....lovely Margaret River chardonnay

Skippygirl - You don't know Dr. Horrible?!?!?! You can watch it for free online, if you'd like:
http://drhorrible.com/mushortio.html
There are details on the Wikipedia page I linked to in my other post, but basically it's a superhero comedy musical (yes it is!) created by Joss Whedon (of Buffy/Angel, Firefly/Serenity, and Dollhouse fame) during the 2007-2008 Writers Guild strike.
I don't know if you're a fan of his other work, but this thing is classic Joss. The flow is very similar to the Buffy episode Once More With Feeling, if you've seen that.
Dr. Horrible is played by Neil Patrick Harris, who became really famous for his acting role as a child playing Doogie Howser, M.D. about 20 years ago (not sure if you know that show in Australia). The other two stars, Nathan Fillion and Felicia Day, have appeared in other stuff Joss has done.

Do The Stu - sounds like fun I'll check out this Horrible character...... oops "we're sorry our video library can only be streamed in the United States"...

count to ten slowly and carry on man! The new you needs to keep that type A personality just turned down from 11 to 10 ok? I am sure that is what your doc ordered.
Re foot, I am right with you bro. 6-7 on a 10 scale. Obviously the songs and vibe are great for a live show, but as a listener, like you, I prefer my Joe straight up with his inimitable vocal guitar lines.......
