Going thru that 6 CD article on Joe, it's interesting that he jumps from Crystal Planet to Chickenfoot. Kind of reinforces what I have expressed here ocassionally about his most recent work. I am looking forward to his next solo release, see how the CF experience translates into his solo work. We'll see...
Austin: Glad that u liked it, if I had tried to sync any portion of that video I probably would've failed miserably! I can tell u that I had a huge grin and a couple of tears running down my face at around the 3 minute mark.
It took me quite a while to feel comfortable about putting personal stuff on the Tube, but it's great to be able to share these memorable experiences with friends with such ease. So I'd say go for it!
To answer your housing question, I can tell you that in Mexico the credit freeze was put in place in October of 08. We were one of the last families to move in, it took about 6 months for all credit activity to kick back on again, and for additional families to move into that residential complex. Not that it matters to me anymore, I'm back in the old house now...but I digress.

Cosmic: cool, I'll let you know if we are gonna make it, and we can catch up.
Austin: I think Joe has some, he sent me a mint shrinkwrapped one ages ago. Joe- you're sitting on a goldmine. I guess they'd lose a bit of value if you sold them all though, less rare then. I thought I read somewhere that he had 500 or something made. Do they'd still be pretty rare.
Moving up the coast (warmer and more relaxed lifestyle).
House market (and economy) actually pretty stable here. I think people fit scared and overestimated the global impact. There are strong economies around the globe that helped resist the slide. Plus our banking is heavily regulated.
Kids are 8 and 11, yes, were going to include universal.
I'll definitely have a chat if the trip works out.
Skippy: no wukkus!
Elpp: lol- definitely!

elpp - that is a lovely vid my friend, it could actually BE the vid for the song. Thanks for introducing me to a DT song I hadn't heard before too, it's really sweet.
Sounds like you've had a rough time, but I am sure you'll write more love songs again (hey as a start you could write a love song to the Gorgeous Rock Chick Guitar Shredder :>)).
roo - *SOBS LOUDLY* thanks mate (sniff!).
Do The Stu - I sent 2 but it's OK no need to respond to both. We could have adopted you, you know that don't you haha?
Oh and HAVE A GREAT TIME TONIGHT TORONTO!!!! Wave to Skippygirl!

If anyone didn't buy Guitar Player last month, you can read the Chickenfoot article here (as a PDF or Flash file or something...?):
http://www.nxtbook.com/nxtbooks/newbay/gp2_200907/#/8
michelle - It sounds like Scar Tissue is a pretty good book...I'll have to pick it up. I was hanging out with a friend of mine tonight who is a big RHCP fan...I meant to ask her about the book (I bet she has it), but I forgot. Argh...
Don1963 - Welcome back!
elpp - When did you run into Joe in Universal City? If it was on a show day it must have been a while ago...I don't think he's played there in the past decade or so. It's cool that you saw him, though...was he busy buying toys for ZZ? ;-)
And I also noticed the big jump from Crystal Planet to Chickenfoot on Joe's list. I find that interesting because, AFAIK, all of the albums between those two were made the same way (Joe did demos at home, playing everything himself, and then the band came into the studio to redo the other parts; EOC fits this too, in its own way). I wonder why Joe would go back to that process again and again when none of those albums made his short list of favorites.
Personally, I'd love to see Joe do his next solo album the way he did JS95 or CP. With the way the Chickenfoot album turned out, maybe he'll do that...I'm hopeful like you are.
roo - Yeah, I think you're right about the number of EPs...500 is the number I see reported in most places. That makes it pretty rare, but then again there always seems to be one on Ebay whenever I look (a few times a year). The sellers are usually asking for about $500...maybe that's too high, so they aren't selling?
If you do make it out to the US, you'll have to go to In-N-Out with me and cosmic_ape before the Universal City show. We can promise you a great burger, but if you want to top it with Vegemite or beetroot or other crazy Australian things you'll have to bring your own. ;-)
Skippygirl - Ah...I didn't see the other email you mentioned, but I looked back now and found it. I'll look into that one too...thanks.
And someone needs to send Joe the link to the full version of that group doing Toto's Africa, that cosmic_ape posted (I didn't forget credit this time!)... ;-)

Hi Skippy- Rice..haven't had to irrigate since July 4...but bad news for soybeans who can't stand wet feet. Too much rain.
I would really like to go to the Tahoe gig just to be able to join some of the others. I may try to go to the Atlanta show. It's really difficult to plan that far ahead right now. And with the Texas trip earlier, I really hate to spend more $ on travel.
I hope these guys stay together long enough to do an extensive world & US tour.

Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones is in a new band with Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters, Nirvana) and Josh Homme (Queens Of The Stone Age)...the group is called Them Crooked Vultures. Their CD comes out October 23 (click here).
They are playing a gig in Chicago this Sunday. Tickets go on sale tomorrow and will go very quickly...if you live there you need to be there. Click here for more info on that. Also, for the UKers, I've heard from someone in the know that they will be playing the Reading Festival.
burly - It'd be awesome if you can make it to Tahoe, but if you can't you NEED to go to the Atlanta gig. That one will be recorded for a possible release (just like a few other shows have been).
Pip55 - Sammy's voice sounds great in those clips...probably because it's the start of the leg. Hopefully his voice is getting used to be back on the road now, though, and it'll stay at this level for good...

Hey this is my first post! Anyway Joe, I just wanted to tell you how much of an inspiration you have been to me and that you have sparked my interest in guitar playing.
Next time you're in Philidelphia maybe we can hang out and talk about aliens or something lol.
Peace

It's nice to see another Chickenfoot podcast...it's been a while. And it's cool that there's a T2Jer on it, as well (toward the front of the line, of course)!
I downloaded it through iTunes and I have to say, I never thought I'd see the day where something Joe-related has an "explicit" tag next to it...haha.
austin12211 - Welcome to the site! And nice name... ;-)
axeshredderjc - I wish we could buy a Chickenfoot shirt with Joe's lettering like that...I think it looks really cool. And slightly related, I hope they'll have more shirts for sale than what we can see in the Chickenfoot online store. I already have a black w/ white logo and a red w/ white logo...I want to get another shirt, but I might not if my only choice is black w/ red logo. Argh...

Joseph--Those guitars that follow you around the world are looking beautiful and sounding so sweet and it's all because you have the best guitar tech in the world!! You're having way too much fun with those pedals......magic that they are! I don't care how long it takes to meet ya! I'm taking a number as huge as it is and standing in line for a bizzillion years!! Meanwhile, I'm playing my Fender acoustic and taking lessons from Ry Kihn and listening to everyone's nightmare.......Nights with Alice Cooper online at Q107, Calgary, Alberta.
OMG--Blue_Moon--How is it you've found out my weakness for Facebook?!!! A mad addiction.....I tells ya! ;-)
The youngins are restless these days! And some of us middle-aged ppls as well.
Ibanezplyr--I went to Dublin, Cali on Sunday and noticed the people hangin' around the local Peet's Coffee place. Then I looked out the window and noticed a whole bunch of new condos, row houses, townhomes have been built up over the last 6 to 7 years! It looks like they are tryin' to copy Dublin, Ireland architecture-wise. Only they can't because Dublin, Eire can't be copied because it's the old country (with a lot of restless youngins similar to here) and unique in its way.
Los Gatos has a lot of youngins hanging around at the Borders book store and Coffee Roasting Company. I love the coffee houses of California......great bevies! OMG!....the teen girls at Borders were sayin some of the same things I remember my friends and me sayin' when we were their age!
"I'm bored!" "There's nothin' to do around here!" My friends and I used to say that when we were just lazin' around and scribbling on pieces of paper! Ahh.....YOUTH! The world is your oyster.......and you may never pass this way again! Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!!! ;-)
