A cross continental hi speed railway would be an astronomical amount of work, effort, planning and resources, butyou do spend trillions on war shizzle! planes is the way... they can send you anywhere in the world in a day. amazing.
But leave it to the Japs, they're the kings of that jazz
I Believes the Japs actually agreed to design an underground subway system for Dublin, but the goverment/minister of transport/whatever governing bodies in charge refused since they would be turning over some profits to the Japs
Yup our nation is run by eejits... i wont get started on the new tax's and carbon tax being introduced, for such a small country with so many tax's for being green and keeping the carbon footprint low, its a tiny little place which will be so indifferent to the world climate change... we're overcharged for everything especially for trying to be green... shocking what the higher archy get away with
on a lighter note. Boobs.

Fall is definitely closing in on us. Forecast calls for clouds and rain the whole week. I absolutely LOVE the rain, so it should be a great week. Plus it's the start of the ELPP 6 DAYS OF 6-PACKS celebration, which consists of:
9/9 Mexico - Honduras soccer game
9/10 NFL Season Opener.
9/11 My soccer game.
9/12 Juarez Indios - Toluca (Mexico Division 1 Soccer).
9/13 BEARS beating the crap out of the Packers.
9/14 bye (jajaja)
9/15 Mexican Independence Day.
Each of these events will be accompanied by a 6-pack, friends or family, lots of screaming and swearing and throwing popcorn at the TV... DAMN! Can't wait!!!
Ibanezplyr: Early happy b-day to your mom.

Death Cube K---- ;-( Are you judging me according to simplistic thinking???
Michelle--Too bad trains/railroad transportation isn't a priority/passion in this country. I guess we are too involved in personality/perceived hero worship and shallow sensational popular culture. I guess, just "don't think" wins the day, huh? Alice Cooper has a song for this, "Hey, hey, hey, hey,....Hey Stupid!"
Where are today's "thinkers first, action second"??
The "Bozone" layer keeps getting thicker all the time, unfortunately for all of us!
What kind of future does Alan McKenna, teenage nephew Blaze and my 6-year-old niece have to look forward to? More "hand-me-downs"??? 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th century technology that hasn't been improved because greedy rich people don't have the courage/forethought to invest in progress?? Just flush the bizillions of dollars down the toilet of posh vacations, hording in offshore tax shelters and other counterproductive ventures and screw people who bought homes in the "real" world of realistic down payments and consistent month by month mortgage payments and intend to pay them off within their lifetimes!
Oh, and keep sending our young people over to POPPY LAND (Afghanistan) to die for nothing and continue to piss off the Afghan people! (Gotta keep the Heroin trade going!!)
Then healthcare considered a commodity NOT a necessity to the people of the USA.....out of touch with the rest of the world......What kind of creatures are we? When will we come together and end this destructive, counterproductive bullshit!!??

mcdave & blue; the whole world is pretty much f*d in my opinion. can't think of a single government in any country anywhere thats doing the best thing for its people instead of trying to make themselves rich. even here with the so-called health care reform crap going on. how can you fix the health care system without INSURANCE REFORM! no one even mentions that. the reason doctors order so many tests is becuase they get sued left and right. i've been saying for years that this country needs another revolution and they all better run and hide if by some miracle i ever get rich enough to not have to work for a living cause i'll be the one starting it!!! my signature on another board reads " Truth, Common Sense, Kindness and Personal Responsibility are 4 qualities sorely lacking in this world". so there!!! i feel better now, sorry i shouldn't even get started.
cool b-day date for your mom ibanez!
elpp; been waiting for the NFL season to start. we have our QB back and healthy mr Tom Brady!! even the mrs started getting into it last year. know that she understands the game a little better she gets real excited.

Roo, I apologize for any incorrect assumptions. The CD on your site that contains the live at the Cabaret concert is actually incomplete. Surfing with the alien is cut off near the end and its missing Crushing Day, which is actually the last song. I know because I taped it off the radio in 1988. I know you didn't create that CD, just thought I'd let you know since you're a huge collector. The recording I have is not as good in quality as whats available online but it is complete.

I just bought a bunch of Beatles remasters at Best Buy today. I've held off on buying any Beatles albums for years and years specifically waiting for remasters, so it's nice that the day is finally here...
I got the In Mono box set, and then the individual remasters for Yellow Submarine, Abbey Road, and Let It Be (they aren't in the box because they were originally released in stereo).
I haven't listened to everything yet, obviously, but early impressions are that they didn't follow the "loudness war" trend with these remasters...that's a relief! More info on that is at Pitchfork.
There's also a stereo box set that has pretty much everything, if anyone is interested.
...Austin...

bluebuffalo: I would say it is nice to be back, but you know as well as I do that this place isn't much to come back to!! It was a relief to get off the Oregon roads, though.. I love our 75mph speed limits!!
Luckily the man let me be on the way home. I passed a couple of them and got a little nervous, but apparently I had slowed down enough that they didn't come after me. I wouldn't be surprised if one of them was the same guy that got me on Friday!
The worst thing is that my better half says the $250 has gotta come outta my music fund, and I was about to buy a new amp! That's harsh!!
Anyway, hope everyone is having a good one, thanks for the Tahoe vid links Tracie! I'll have to download those and keep them to show the grandkids someday!!
Listening to: Chickenfoot - Sexy Little Thing (so loud the whole town can hear it!)
