Joe -
Thank you for giving all of us such a wonderful soundtrack to accompany our lives!
I enjoyed chatting with you backstage in Berkeley. It was cool to hear excitement in your voice when you mentioned meeting & playing with Jeff Beck. That's how we feel when we get a chance to spend a few minutes with you.
Enjoy your well deserved rest.
And thanks again for the "Talk To Joe" section of satriani.com!

Prayers and good thoughts are headed your way, Tracie. Please keep us updated...
If it's OK to share, I do have some fun news for everyone: I'm glad I went to see Davy Knowles & Back Door Slam's show at the Mint in LA tonight. Peter Frampton, who produced their newest disc, was there and jammed with Davy on Keep On Searchin' and a cover of Neil Young's Cortez The Killer. I'll post pictures later.
I got a quick autograph from Davy...he was there with his girlfriend (assuming they aren't married; they're young) so I didn't have much time to chat, but I did ask how someone can get through the rest of the week when you start it off by jamming with Satch on Sunday and Frampton on Monday. He thought that was pretty funny... ;-)
EDIT - Here's one of my pictures: http://twitpic.com/jkvvb

wishing your family all the best Tracie. going through similar things now in my family. the only advice i can give is try to take it one day at a time, when you think about the situation too much it just drives you insane. sometimes all we can do is be strong for each other because a lot of what happens in life is beyond our control.

Thanks fatape, skippygirl, dothestu, cappy steve, bluebuffalo, peace lily, al surfer, michelle, madeoftears, don1963, scubadaz, ozzy_fudd, castle49, slanshroom, turbo236,jj.....I hope I didn't miss anyone, if I did, so sorry, not intentional...
And Joe....thanks everyone for your good thoughts, wishes and prayers, we sure need them.
Sounds like many others are going through hard things right now too....my own thoughts and prayers going out to chelle and her other friends and family members who are having problems, as well as Don1963 for whatever is happening with your family, and burly with his daughter...and Kayla with her in-laws. K, does that mean you have other news to share as well, such as you got married? That would be a spot of good news amongst all this hard stuff going on.
It's just life, I know....and we are trying hard to live in the moment rather than worry about what's to come. My dad is still here, still alive and we need to grab ahold of that and be joyful for every moment we have together, and not think ahead too much. My brother says human beings spend too much time living in the past or thinking about what might happen in the future, so much so that we miss the actual moment that's happening. And it's something we can never get back, so to try not to miss it.
Good advice I think.
Joe, thank YOU for making the decision to do Chickenfoot and sharing that experience with all of us. You are a blessing in so many ways, to so many people. I betcha if you wanted to, you could decide to get off this "merry-go-round" and sit back and take it easy the rest of your life. If you did do that I'd be very happy for you...but for as long as you want this ride to continue, we're soooo glad to go on it with you :)
Hope today is a good day for everyone....

This part of Tracie's post deserves its own post (albeit slightly edited), and not just now when things are tough for a lot of friends here, but everyday:
Be joyful for every moment we have together, and not think ahead too much. Human beings spend too much time living in the past or thinking about what might happen in the future, so much so that we miss the actual moment that's happening. And it's something we can never get back, so try not to miss it.
For me personally, I find it unfortunate that it took some major events in my life to realize that this is true, but better now than never.
Best wishes and hugs to all the T2J's who are going thru rough times. And hugs as well to the ones who are doing good, Joe included.

Hi Everyone,
I did that Fort-4-Fitness Run last weekend and it was tough. There were more runners and the course was all brand new. There was 2,280 participants in the half-marathon and I came in 45th. I was 13th out of 85 in my Age Division. My time was 1 hour, 29 minutes, and 19 seconds. I wasn't happy with the time because last year's time was about six minutes faster. But, oh well, there is always next year. I should be glad that I actually finished it.
I actually did another race afterwards, which was a three mile run. After the half-marathon, I came home and had about 30-45 minutes to get ready to go do that other run, so I didn't have a whole lot in me. There was about 20-25 in that run and I finished 2nd overall, so that was good. Two races in one morning is a lot.
Joe: Great to hear from you
Cheese101: Prayers to your family. My heart goes out to you, your folks, Chris, and everyone.
Gotta Have Joe: Prayers to you and your family as well.
Skippygirl, Do The Stu, Distorted Soul, Michelle, Guitarvibes, GoldenGirl2, Don1963, fatape, slashroom, cappy steve, and everyone:
How are you all doing? I might be going back to my former employer (Hilton). To make it short, management at my current hotel job isn't the best. One of my good friends left there and started having some problems (depression). He checked himself in at a rehab center, which was good and is doing way better. He gets to come home today, which is awesome.
Now I'm waiting for a phone call from the Hilton. I know a lot of them there want me back. The guitar store is doing well.
Well, I better stop now. Talk with you all later. See ya!
