if the DVD has those sketchy thingys all over at all times, it will be having a soloist playing over a tune non stop, disregarding melody and what the singer and other band members are doing...
I don't know much about music, but I've been a visual artist for a while and some of those effects are the equivalent of a three year old in your face asking "Why?" 375,000 times...
Those things need to be treated like guitar fills in a vocal tune. My unsolicited two cents...

Hi Joe-
If you have a moment to read this, and join us ( The Bay Area Music Community) at SF City Hall Monday morning, I'm sure your support would be well noted by the nut-jobs who are trying to close the clubs.

BTW- Haven't spent much time in your forums, but I've seen you tons of times all the way back to Cotati Cabaret days. Always amazing and enjoyable! Thanks, E

My son and his friend are in the basement practicing their acoustic set for an upcoming show at school. I went out to make a cup of tea, and I stopped dead in my tracks. I heard a familiar song...one I had no idea the kids even knew. I know my daughter likes Damien Rice, but I didn't know the boys did. I quietly opened the basement door and I heard "I can't take my eyes off of you..." I waited for them to stop, and I went down to ask if it was Damien Rice. Kieran was blown away that I knew the song, and even more blown away when I told him Damien is my friends cousin. lol! He was singing and playing guitar, and my son was playing the violin & bass parts on the keys.

well the reactions on the DVD r not ssurprising at all from this place..lol...though i must state that grading this DVD by one clip is exactly like those who rated Chickenfoot low after hearing Oh Yeah!
I do agree with many comments about the kinda Cheap drawing clips added...though if the dvd offers the option of not having that, it would be great....the camera work is awesome...i cant imagine them doing stuff like that the whole video.. I also agree the repeated playability of a clip like that is maybe 2 or 3...and without it...forever........there were some really awesome fx in there and if used sparingly really would make it a cool live video......but finally ...a live dvd should mimic a live performance...and leave the big fx for youtube to introduce Joe to New People..theyll only watch once...=)

Disc 2 of Where The Wild Things Are is really good. Maybe the cranberry juice in my vodka is upping the ace factor, but either way - go buy it! The dvd I mean...or the vodka...make it a 2fer and we'll all be happy!
Cheers!
watched disc 1 last week. finally getting to disc 2. I really love it, and I'm not usually a huge Steve fan, but add a little Weiner and it's all good. lmao!!
happy feckin' friday peeps!

Like I said before: Steve Vai has set a new standard for concert DVD's!
A DVD where the special fx do work in a natural way is Alanis Morissette: Jagged Little Pill - Live. It's made in a kind of tour diary format with the home vid parts don't mess with the concert footage too much. Check out if you feel like it.
McKenna brush your teeth before you kiss the new girlfriend in the morning (noodles and popcorn)
Have a good weekend all.

Looks like Sammy is finally opening up a Cabo Wabo on the strip in Vegas; the Waboritas will be there on opening night, Friday, December 4th, and Chickenfoot will be there on the 5th!!
Vegas is like a 16 hour drive from here, but I'll have to consider it.....

Yes Marky, the Weiner they call Dave. As for Steve's little weiner, well, that's Pia's bidness. lol!
Fatape, So we share the name Viv with our mum's, and Slan & I share the name John Lee with my pop & his son :-) Your mum must be a peach. She raised a son with a good heart. My best to you and yours.
My poor mum's got a lot going on. She has congestive heart failure, and her heart is enlarged & weak. That is making it hard for her to breathe. On top of that, she has bronchitis. She's gotta go for all sorts of testing next week. Hopefully her meds will kick in by then and she'll be feeling some relief.
I'd like to thank everyone for their kind words, prayers, and good vibes. It means so much to us. I don't know what the future is going to bring, but I do know that I can always count on my friends here on t2j. Bless you all.
Here's a little Weiner for ya London.
