Happy Birthday Mark London.
js1200js1000: I'm doing good myself. I'm still working & running. I'll be doing my first marathon on November 14th. I am excited, but also nervous. My work is going well, I'm still working in the hotel chain, and I also picked up a second job at a guitar store at our local mall. I've been there for more than two months and I enjoy it. We are planning on getting another store out at another mall around Fort Wayne. How are you and the family doing? Maybe I should come up there and do a marathon in Canada. Vancouver hosts the 2010 Winter Olympics soon. Woo-Hoo!!! CANADA EH!
Gotta have Joe: Hope you get better Kayla.
Skippygirl: That's excellent news on Chickenfoot. Now we need them nominated for the Grammys and all the other music awards. Besides, Joe is due for one, don't you agree? AYE! AYE! AYE!
Blue_Moon: Sounds like your getting into the Holiday Spirit.
Michelle: Good for you on getting that Chickenfoot Deluxe CD/DVD. Mine has been shipped out yesterday so I'll be looking forward to receiving it. How's your Mom doing?
Speaking of family, (Cheese101) Tracie's Dad is coming home today. HOORAY!

I'll echo what michelle said...the DVD is well worth buying. A lot of cool live footage was used as well. In addition to the Soap On A Rope music video, I also found me (and my brother, and Brian/Mahavishnu) a few times during My Kinda Girl and during another song too.
And michelle, the credits tell me that the live audio from Future In The Past was taken from the Atlantic City HOB gig. So that's cool for you... :-)
The one thing that bugs me is that the majority of the live footage is from the Montreux gig, and Sammy's voice isn't as strong as it was on the rest of the tour. However, I am glad that it was left as-is and wasn't overdubbed.
Go buy it!

I am so proud of my son! I just found out he was nominated and selected for The Oregon Music Educator's Association District 6 Honor Band!
The top 15% of the area's band and choir students are selected to rehearse with a guest conductor and perform together.
He is really excited as it is quite an honor..
I just wish my husband was more supportive of our son's love for music, but momma's so proud she could " pop"!

Christmas cake is a type of fruitcake served at Christmas time in the UK, Ireland, Japan, Philippines and many Commonwealth countries.
A Christmas cake may be light or dark, crumbly-moist to sticky-wet, spongy to heavy, leavened or unleavened, shaped round, square or oblong as whole cakes, fairy cakes, or petit fours, with marzipan, icing, glazing, dusting with icing sugar, or plain, etc.
A particular favourite of many is the traditional Scottish Christmas cake, the Whisky Dundee. As the name implies, the cake originated in Dundee and is made with Scotch whisky. It is a light and crumbly cake, and light on fruit and candied peel—only currants, raisins, sultanas and cherries. This Christmas cake is particularly good for people who don't like very rich and moist cakes. As with all fruitcakes, the almonds (or other nuts) can be omitted by people who don't like them or those with severe nut allergies.
Theres your Christmas cake Ms. Lily

Blue Moon - Thank you for your appetizing description of Christmas cake. It appears there may be a Christmas cake for most any taste, and it certainly is a lovely tradition.
My Auntie Ester's fruit cake was a dark moist creation, heavy on the cherry's and pecans and hard alcohol . I don't believe it was aged properly...........hence the buzzz..........

Did you hear the amount of money the Yankees pay for their team? It's in the billions ffs! BILLIONS!! 5.6 billion BASE salary! There's no job on this effin planet worth that amount of money. I feckin HATE sports salaries! We have people out there saving lives, fighting fires, risking their lives every day to make this world a better place, and we pay them shit compared to people who play with a ball for a living. We glamorize them and make them out to be "Gods", when in reality the real "Gods" are the people who get out and risk their asses every day to save somebody elses. It's a crazy world we live in.
Austin, 3-7 in the 6th. There's still hope, but...

michelle - I replied to something you said on Twitter about salaries the other day...not sure if you saw it or not. I think all sports salaries are insanely high.
I've been a Yankees fan my whole life, but I don't like the way the Yankees have managed their roster over the past few years (letting their pitching staff leave so they had the cash to sign Alex Rodriguez, for example). I'm more a fan of their 90s teams...those teams were more homegrown, and they actually won the World Series more then than they have this decade.
The Yankees do have some of the highest paid players in sports, but I really don't think that has anything to do with World Series wins. They haven't been to the series since 2003...Boston, St. Louis, and even Philadelphia have had better postseasons in recent years. So I don't see any truth in the argument that the Yankees buy World Series wins. I'm not saying you're making that argument, but it's one I hear a lot.
Anyway...
...Austin...
