HELLO EVERYBODY!
What a week for me. I'm glad that's out of the way. Earlier this evening, I had my Track Club banquet and it went well. Bill Rodgers was our guest speaker and I got a picture with him, plus I bought a poster with him autographing it. Totally cool! I also got a plaque for 1st place in my age division. My first race for 2010 is on Valentine's Day (the 14th), and I have another race (my first points race) is on the 20th (a 5K).
My CD (Playlist) of The Very Best of Joe Satriani (that I ordered from Amazon) came. Now I'm waiting for the Live In Paris CD & DVD.
I also saw the Grammys. Big congrats to Jeff Beck. I also figured that it was going to be Beyonce's & Taylor Swift's night to rack up most of the awards. Congrats to all of the winners. One of the band members from the group, the Zac Brown Band (Best New Artist), was really ripping that guitar up.
Peace Lily: I have a lot of Joe's songs in my head when I'm working or running. Can't choose one; love them all.
Bluebuffalo: What a dream. BTW, how is your family (wife) doing?
Roo: I took a look at your collection again; pretty neat. BTW, I'm also looking for Joe's first album (vinyl or CD): The Joe Satriani EP. I've looked all over and came up empty-handed. Do you know where I can find a copy? Also, I saw the items on your wanted list. I'll take a look around here and see if I can find any of them for you, if you like.
GoldenGirl2: Hope you and Steve had fun at the concert/benefit.
McDave: Thanks for the input on the Aerosmith ordeal.
As for my two cents on Aerosmith, I liked some of their earlier hits. The ones I prefer are, "Dream On," "Walk This Way," & "Dude Looks Like a Lady", which reminds me from the movie, "Mrs. Doubtfire" when Robin Williams was dancing with a vacuum & playing electric guitar with a broom. Great and funny movie, in my opinion. I hope Steven Tyler gets better soon.

I didn't watch the Grammys live, but I just saw DMB's performance...very cool. Here it is on YouTube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZdW8_o7npE
I love the song's music video, too... Go here for that.
I think I posted about this last year, but at the 2009 Grammys they left DMB sax player LeRoi Moore out of their list of musicians who died the previous year. So it was nice to see Adam Sandler mention it tonight (even though it was scripted). I guess a lot of music fans didn't know he died, due in part to the snub last year...CNN's story on his death --written in 2008-- is currently the most popular story on CNN.com. Interesting.
McDave - Thanks for the link to the latest Aerosmith developments. Deep down I really think Joe is talking to the press so much to light a fire under Steven, to get him clean and back into the game. But for Steven to respond with lawyers instead? Argh...
Glitz Man - Joe's self-titled EP is a rarity (I think only 500 exist), but the music on it is not...if that's all you're after. Four of the five songs were included on Time Machine. I have an MP3 of the missing song (Talk To Me)...I can post a link if you'd like.

Do The Stu: Yes, if you could, please post that. I do have an MP3, but I've never bought or download anything to put on it; just CDs. I've actually never done anything like that. I guess I need to learn how. If you need my e-mail, let me know. Thanks again, Austin.
You're right, DMB was awesome at the Grammys. They've had one hell-of-a roller coaster in 2009. Of all the performances, I think they were one of the two best performances on the show. The other performance was the Tribute to Michael Jackson; though I didn't see it in 3-D (don't have the glasses for it).
Time for rest. Chat with you and everyone soon.

Jeff Beck dug out his Les Paul Guitar for his performance... Nice job!!! He is cool....oh btw if you are interested he has a new album coming out soon (April 13) and some new tour dates with the new line up, Narada Michael Walden ( awesome) on drums and a new bassist, Rhonda Smith. I don't know her and Jason Rebello on keyboards again , he is very good.

Pip55 - I keep my fingers crossed for a new Satch solo album asap. Hoped for end this year after summer recording, but it's true Joe releases mostly in Q1 of year before tour.
Alan - why don't you have latest Vai DVD yet? Buy 15 beers less and you have it.... Exellent playing and superior quality of sound and vision. Did you go to see him on that tour?
Jeff Beck - may he show how it's done for many more years!
For guitar geegs like us I recommend It might get loud with Jimmy Page, The Edge and Jack White. Just got it last week. The way the Edge and JW look at Jimmy when he plays it's clear who is guitar royalty, really funny to see. A warning though: it will make you want to buy more gear, specially stompboxes!
On the (rather old) subject of fav Satch tunes: -Up in flames- and -Overdriver- always get me moving. Hard driven stuff. Rattles my balls, so now.... I will play -Overdriver- from Live in Paris for the rest of the day! (Stu's bass sounds deeper than ever) Bye.

Glitzy - well done buddy!!!!! Nice work to be 1st in your age division and good luck for the 14th.
Peace - great link thanks for the vid, some interesting kaleidoscopes (Joe is that you editing?) and I just love Andalusia I can play it all day long. I dream that one day my brother in law will play the intro part on acoustic and then I'll rip in with the electric, starting with that "wounded animal" sound Joe starts it off with HAHA I'm an idiot really.
Do The Stu - thanks too for the link to the lovely DMB song that was fantastic. I just read an article by DM about partial chords that helped me play "My Sweet Lord" would you believe.
Guitarvibes - you lucky bugger you must be the only person with the DVD right now :0) we Aussies will no doubt be the last on the planet to receive ours - enjoy!

GlitzMan: Thanks Mate. But sorry, have no idea where to get another EP....
Actually, come to think of it, I do think I know of one being sold. I might find out if he's still selling it, but it'll be very expensive. How badly do you want it?
It's funny Joe couldn't give them away, and now they are so much in demand. Funny how that happens hey?
Oh, Joe, I stumbled on a cool historic collectors shop here (oddly called "time machine") they had an original LP of Electric Ladyland with the cover Hendrix apparently hated (heaps of topless babes) for about $125... If you want I'll grab it for you. Or anyone else here who collects Hendrix rarities... They have other stuff too...

I was having trouble with my computer. So I called Eric, the 11 year old next door, whose bedroom looks like Mission Control and asked him to come over. Eric clicked a couple of buttons and solved the problem.
>As he was walking away, I called after him, 'So, what was wrong?
He replied, 'It was an ID ten T error.'
I didn't want to appear stupid, but nonetheless inquired, 'An, ID ten T error? What's that? In case I need to fix it again.'
Eric grinned.... 'Haven't you ever heard of an ID ten T error before?
'No,' I replied. 'Write it down,' he said, 'and I think you'll figure
it out.'
So I wrote down:
ID10T
I used to like Eric, the little *******

Grant...Mrs. Doubtfire is a classic. Uncle Frank & Aunt Jack? Hilarious...

Roo: Andrew, I am interested. The question is: How much? I check how much any item costs whenever I go shopping (stores/online), to the grocery/farmer's market, etc. About 90% of the time, I maintain/stay within my budget(s).
McDave: Dave, never seen that Uncle Jack movie. However, I am looking forward for the next Survivor and The Amazing Race.
Skippygirl: Thanks and I'll let you know how my runs go. Sorry, no runs outside the U.S. yet. Someday, I'll be traveling to do marathon runs or some sort. I know your anxious on my running. Speaking of running, I have to look for some new knee braces soon; I've had my old ones sewn up a number of times. Guess it's time for new ones.
GG2: How was the concert/benefit?
Joe: Hope everything went well at the benefit/concert. Looking forward for the Live In Paris and any upcoming music you're putting together.
