Hi Joe!
This is my first time posting on your fan site, so I just want to let everyone that visits here know that after my brother introduced your album "Is There Love in Space" to me, I instantly became a fan because I liked ALL the songs.
I do have a request I would like to make:
I am currently a digital arts student at Pratt Institute of Brooklyn, NY and I am working on a 3D animation about a boy astronaut who goes on a mysterious mission to save a self-destructing planet. I do need music for my animated short film and bam, it hit me, your songs would be awesome for this!
Because this is a senior project and might be released in several animation festivals after April 2010, I would like to officially ask you for permission to use some of your songs. So far I'm thinking "I Like Rain" (for action adrenaline) and "If I Could Fly" for the credits.
You can email me at khwang2@pratt.edu to let me know your thoughts on my request or a simple no. Either way, your music is awesome and keep it up man!

From past years in the chat, if ya hang out in there long enough, ya get a visit from Joe. That's a fact. Luini too. Another of the many reasons I loved working evenings. I was up late enough that my east coast time would match with Joe's west coast time and when all the planets aligned - WOOO! We had some seriously fun times! Hilarious conversations with Joe and Jon (at separate times). Made some great friends too....as well as a few enemies ;-)
Chee, what was the highest count we had in there? 12 or 13?

Heya JR, been a long time...
Roo, .. Hope all is well with you. Still the best collection of Satch I've ever heard of :-) .. And it grows, I'm sure. Yes, you have that white LP, .. it's a rare one . Really pleased Joe will come out for this Hendrix tribute,.. I remember a beat up LP 'Axis Bold as Love' that was beat to death, a long time ago.
Many inspired by Jimi of course but, I know of one guy that breathed it 24x7, ..glad he's going to be doing this.

JR, it's the visual Lady Gaga that equals Joe's Live in Paris DVD. LOL! Sometimes you just don't know where to put yer eyes. lol! You have a neighbor from PA. Cool!!! If I had neighbors from AZ I wouldn't even know it because they'd be in their house under layers of clothing and blankets right now. lol! I stood outside talking to a friend this evening and my jaw was clattering so hard I had to cut the convo short and get in my car. lol! You miss that, don't you ;-) BRRR!
Enjoy the sunshine!

Hmmm...what was I up to tonight?
michelle, I know you like reading music biographies. Do you have this one yet? I do.
I spent two hours in line this morning to buy the book and get a wristband, and another two hours tonight waiting in line to get that autograph.
Maybe this isn't worth the bit of hype I gave it earlier, but I'm really excited. It was great to get Joe Perry's autograph a few months ago, but I think this tops it. :-)
And a fun side note, Ozzy took a bathroom break right after he signed my book (I'm sure there's a joke in there somewhere, haha). Anyway, he left his Sharpie with my book, so I got a bonus souvenir...woohoo!
...Austin...

Here is the final straw why i am pissed off and incase your all thinking ah the pre ordered 200 would have been gone well i tried to order as soon as was posted problem is when ya go to fill out ya order only accepts US states after filling in my order which wasn't far got to address and was pissed closed browser and e-mailed Sony no response which was awesome customer service e-mailed twice more in regards to international orders as i was getting angry knowing 200 dvd/cd's dont hang around to long still no response gotta give em 10/10 now cause 3 e-mails no response gotta be feeling the love by now hey yer right :(
This is whats written on the pre order site in the Help section. Posted here at Satriani.com.
International Shipping
We gladly accept orders from all around the globe. Please note that orders that are shipped to countries outside of the U.S. may be subject to import and other taxes, customs duties and fees levied by the destination country. The recipient of an international shipment may be required to pay such amounts, which are generally levied once a shipment reaches the destination country. The purchaser or the recipient will be the importer of record and must comply with all laws and regulations of the destination country. Additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by the recipient; we have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country; you should contact your local customs office for further information. When customs clearance procedures are required, it may cause delays beyond our original delivery estimates.

dream3 - hi mate, I know what you're talking about. Hey what was the Channel 7 piece on Joe?? Dang, I missed it.
Well, you know, he IS an American artist and we live 22000 km away so yeah, we miss out on things that the locals can walk down the street and buy (or like Hybes they drive for hours for), and it is annoying that some things can't be ordered from Aust etc. and of course they get to see him 10 times a year and we have to wait for tours to be arranged.
Having said that, can I just tell you, tonight when I came home and you know how hot it was here, but the rain was coming? The joeys were doing their homework and I opened up our big glass doors, started cooking dinner and put Live in Paris on the ipod deck LOUD, and was just taken away to Paris, I was one of the crowd, rocking along whilst Joe ripped it up from IJWR through to Summer Song, - it was pretty fantastic.
NOW, back to your point, I have a question for Joe, so Joe, if you have a spare moment can I have some blue here please?
Q: When you say you need to be "invited" to tour or play somewhere, exactly WHO has to invite you?
Sony?
The venue/s?
A promoter?
Who?
I need to know who to approach.....if you have to be invited I will make it a mission that the right mob in Australia invites you, thanks in advance, we'd really like a tour.
So dream3, you and I can get us some Joe in person.
Austin - nice pickup buddy, congrats.

I went to the local music store on Tues 2nd Feb and they had no idea of the sort when it was gonna be readily available to purchase. Unfortunately on the your site it only said the before mentioned date (no other dates for R.O.W). PLease help. I need my fix!!
Regards. Keep on Rockin'

Skip it is usually a promotor contacting an artist's management. The promotor judges if he can sell enough tickets to cover the cost of bringing a band over and make a profit. How big is the potential audience, what is the artists' fee, what do plane tickets and hotels cost, etc. The other way around: sometimes a record company wants to have a band tour a certain area / country / part of the world and contacts and offers the band to local promotors to set it up. But being in demand comes first most of the time. Often just before or after release of something to sell. It's music industry.
If you google on What does a promotor do? you can find more. So if a band comes down under is determined by costs and size of potential audience. Profit. Business.

Skippy -Wasn't a piece on Joe was just about some band being sued again for stealing some bands music and then they flashed thru past cases and up popped Joe ripping it.
And before the point of this gets lost it aint just about the tours as i have also said past posts Joe has been great doing 2 shows in 05 bringing 2 shows with g3 in 06 and then 2 shows again in 08.
POINT IS
The pre order site clearly says we accept international shipping and they DON'T simple as that which like i said is the last straw for me life's shit and this is my excuse to blow my top Sony ignored me so I am asking Joe what the deal is.
