jsTony: Tony, I'm sorry to hear the loss of your mother. My prayers & condolences go out to you and the family.
Don1963: Oh my gosh, I am so sorry to hear what is happening in Rhode Island. I did see a picture in our newspaper of a man & woman canoeing, trying to get somewhere. The background was all water with a vehicle submerged by the flooding. I praise you and your wife going out to help the residents. That should bring some hope to them. I do hope that the water level will drop and the insurance companies will at least give the residents a break and help them out. I hope things will get better.

@Peace Lily-I completely forgot, I could've posted that. Thanks for doing it for me. One of his best ballads. :)
Thank you for the comments on my new video. The solos I chose are the ones that just seem to pop out at you the first time you hear them and then get stuck in your head all of the days after. They just seem to stick with me. And it's not expected like other videos. I go on other "My Favorite Satriani Solos" Videos and I see the basics. My favorite is Surfing With The Alien or The Extremist or Flying in A Blue Dream. Mine has a little variety. It took A LOT of judgement to layout my favorites. They're an elite corps of music. lol
I'll post Part 2 when I get more views, so send it to all your Satch fan friends or just friends who are lovers of music. Thanks!

My condolences, too, Tony. Wow, death is always a tough thing to talk about. Yet, nothing soothes our uneasiness like good friends to share in our grief..'cause we all get there at different times of life.
I spent 30 years of my life raised heathen. :-) No spiritual belief except this very subtle nagging on the inside that there must be something more out there. Until I met Melissa. Now, I've been a believer of Jesus for the last 20 years and have seen two totally different impacts on my life & vast differences of perspectives.
I once had a curiosity with death...where will I go? If anywhere? Typically a fear because of the unknown. And , now I have a confidence in a new & perfect beginning. Total peace about this next eternal life, and a new outlook that stays fresh every year regarding a need to live each day to it's fullest.
It's carried over into my music, too. Where I once was a learning guitarist in a late 70's rock band...playing Zepp, Blue Oyster Cult, Skynyrd, Stones, Yes, etc....now I spend it playing in our local church and...where songwriting was once elusive and quite a struggle...now the lyrics come with a renewed focus...and the music is much easier to develop now that I can let go and let the Holy Spirit take control and drive my inspiration to a work that honors Christ & not myself.
Agape love is certainly where it's at. That self-sacrificing love that holds a higher regard for the person beheld...than for your own needs and perspectives. Well...that's my story. It got me through the times of watching a father-in-law pass from colon cancer...or seeing my grandmother pass from it just being her time with age (and I lived with her in those days).
But, what a drive in music, too, eh? Look at the works out there and look at what is truly spiritually driven...there's a marked difference if done in the proper perspective. So, death for me is the ultimate new beginning...the mark of being set free from the decay of this world that saddens us all...and of a new hope of a life that's forever unchanging. :-)
Peace everyone! Sorry to digress so much from a board that honors Joe's music. But, I've seen enough posts here to see what a band of family you've all become...especially you 'old timers' in here! :-)
Cheers and may God Bless!
~Brad

Let's all sing along!
And you ask me what I want this year-
And I try to make this kind and clear-
Just a chance that maybe we'll find better days-
Cuz I don't need boxes wrapped in string-s
And desire and love and empty things-
Just a chance that maybe we'll find better days-
So take these words-
And sing out loud-
Cuz everyone is forgiven now-
Cuz tonight's the night the world begins again-
And it's someplace simple where we could live
And something only you can give-
And thats faith and trust and peace while we're alive-
And the one poor child that saved this world-
And there's 10 million more who probably could-
If we all just stopped and said a prayer for them-
So take these words-
And sing out loud-
Cuz everyone is forgiven now-
Cuz tonight's the night the world begins again-
I wish everyone was loved tonight-
And somehow stop this endless fight-
Just a chance that maybe we'll find better days-
So take these words-
And sing out loud-
Cuz everyone is forgiven now-
Cuz tonight's the night the world begins again-
Cuz tonight's the night the world begins again-

From Joe's blog -
"Afterward, I hung out with Hubert Sumlin for a while. He told some beautiful stories about his very talented older brother. Hubert has such a way about him, almost an angelic aura. When I looked at him, he seemed to have bright light all about him - no joke. More importantly, you just feel good being around him. A most special person."
JOE, that's the same way I feel when I'm around you. I know you have the same effect on a lot of your fans. I'm so grateful that Hubert did for you what you do for us. The vibe and energy and aura you exude is a rare thing. So, as grateful as you are to have your time with Hubert is as grateful as I am to have my time with you. It's an amazing feeling, isn't it :-)
Love ya Joe!
