Hi Joe
I've been playing with your Signature model (JS1000) for a couple of years now. Nice piece of gear!
The only thing that bothers me a little, is that the whammy bar does not stay in place. How do you manage to keep yours in place?
Thanks!

From FT 10-11 April 2010, Page 7 "The kids are not alright"....A sad story of Phoebe Prince who left Ireland with her family to move to the US. They settled in South Hadley, Massachusetts a few months ago and now she is dead at age 14. Suicide, fecking, suicide! What happened in those short months was just as horrible....Adolescence can be frightening.....unwritten social contracts and all that. When a group of teenagers treat another teenager (and newcomer) like shit, they had better think real well about turning that around and/or getting help....That is so sad and so uncalled for...not everyone is so resilient without adult/peer help.....FGS....someone had to know what was going on!!
JOE--It scares me so much to hear these things.....I want to reach out and help teenagers if they'll let me. :-( I need a strong shoulder!

Hey Joe, I've been playing 6 years now and am self taught, I'm contemplating getting a guitar teacher, just so I can start writing music myself, because it takes me forever to write a song right now, would it help me much to get a teacher at this stage ( I am a pretty good guitarist, I can play crushing day, along with some other difficult songs) or should I just stay flying solo and just memorize all the scales and chords? Hope I'm not being too vague, thanks in advance.

Don't think anyone's mentioned it yet. What a nasty tragedy for the Polish. Bloody hell, why would you put them all on the same plane! To have it go down seems pretty shifty. Their gov't is pretty much screwed. 97 killed. That's a damn shame.
Haven't heard this one for a while. Time to dig out the cd and give it a good listen. Dave Weiner's cd too. It's been a while and they're both killer cd's.
Austin, soooooo, how was Slash? Hope you had an amazing time! I saw some tweets on my phone but haven't checked twitter yet. Lost my phone last night. Heard a message beep in the middle of the night and thought wtf is my phone? Came down this morning and it was nowhere. I called my cell to hear it ring and find it that way. It started playing House Full Of Bullets, but it was muffled and in the kitchen somewhere. I found it in the bottom of the laundry basket I brought downstairs with me when I woke up. LOL! There's a first time for everything. lol! DOH!!
edit - Killer pic Austin!! Niiiiice!

Good morning, everyone.
Michelle--My Steve showed me some pictures and articles on his computer of the Polish tragedy.....What a loss for Poland! That is crazy that so many in their government were on the same plane. Maybe there's a lesson in that.
Alan--Congratulations on your team's football victories. All yer girlfriends should be bringing you and your team mates bunches of colorful flowers (maybe to adorn a few pianos?) I'm glad you play the original football from way back when before someone in the US invented an eliptical shaped ball with pointy ends.....Even as a young girl, I couldn't understand what the big deal was.....until I developed a crush on one of the guys on my high school football team. One of the cheerleaders and I planned a way to slip into the guys locker room while they were showering to take a sneak a look and slip out without being noticed.....We never followed up on it......I think she and and another girl did. Anyway, crazy stuff from high school--Awww, adolescence! It should be a fun time. My Aunt self wants to protect all the young-ins......if it were only possible. One great reason to let go and pray....so I don't go mad!
GG2 :-)

I saw Slash at the Roxy last night, as michelle kinda hinted at a few posts ago. It was a "secret" midnight show only announced through email and Twitter...I saw a heads-up on the gig from her before I heard about it elsewhere, so I was able to score a ticket early. Woohoo!
I got there at 10:30 p.m. and there were a few dozen people in line in front of me. Doors opened at 12:15 a.m., the band started at about 12:45 and they played until 2:10. I found the setlist online, to save me some thinking (haha)...here it is:
Dirty Little Thing (VR)
Mean Bone (SS)
Nightrain (GNR)
Back from Cali (Solo)
Beggars and Hangers On (SS)
Civil War (GNR)
Sucker Train Blues (VR)
Nothing To Say (Solo)
Starlight (Solo)
Solo (with Godfather theme)
Sweet Child O' Mine (GNR)
By The Sword (with Andrew Stockdale) (Solo)
Woman (with Andrew Stockdale) (Wolfmother cover)
Rise Again (Alter Bridge cover)
Slither (VR)
-----
Paradise City (GNR)
It was GREAT to hear some of those classic Guns N Roses songs. The band was so casual about them too (Slash, before Nightrain, was something like: "Hi...I haven't played this one in several years. It's an old Guns N Roses song."). Civil War was a nice surprise...Myles Kennedy let the crowd sing a lot of that one, which was cool.
I liked the Solo -> Godfather Theme -> Sweet Child O' Mine run, just like the classic GNR days. Slash's mind was kind of blown after that one, when he said he hadn't played that song at the Roxy since about 1986.
Anyway, onto other parts of the show... I really liked hearing the Slash's Snakepit songs; I like that older project quite a bit. And it was neat to see a few Velvet Revolver songs still...it's good of Slash to keep playing that stuff. The songs from the new solo album were great as well; again, everyone needs to go buy it if you haven't already.
That's all for now. I took a few dozen pictures on my cell phone, which I'll share later. Here's one to start:
