I'm not crying now, but still sad and wondering about the next 4 years. What sacrifices are we going to be asked or told to make?
What will Obama's policy toward Canada be like? Will he embrace the rest of the world in dialog and negotiation or will he turn his back on them?

GoldenGirl2 - No one really knows what Obama is going to do with regards to foreign policy. The man only has 4 years experience...and has no foriegn experience. This is going to be a very interesting 4 years in our country. We are taking a huge gamble voting for Obama becuase he's quite simply not qualified enough to run this country. But he's a great public speaker, has a lot of charisma and raised the most money in the history of politics. So like it or not, he's our man. Regan got voted to the White House in similar fashion. He had a lot of charisma and was a great public speaker and the previous administration was not liked at all. Regan turned out to be one of the best President's we've had....so hopefully in 4 years we will be saying the same about Obama. But the whole world is going to have to wait and see what his policies really are, because there's just nothing to base an answer on. Interesting times ahead. I am personally not worried at all about our economy. American economics works on an 8 year cycle. We are in the downside of that cycle. The housing problem actually started during the Clinton Administration. This isn't something that just sprang to life this summer. The problem, is that it finally fell apart this summer. Our economy will bounce back. All the world markets are too closely connected to let a country like the United States completely collapse economically. It may take a couple more years for the housing market to adjust itself. Overinflated home values killed the market. Now almost 50 percent of the homes in America have a larger outstanding balance on them than their worth. The banks are going to eat many more mortgages before this is finally finished. But it will get itself worked out. I'm personally worried about how he's going to get our kids out of Iraq. The overwhelming majority of American's polled said they voted for Obama because of their concerns about the economy. It's probably not going to take very long before they turn their focus back to what's happening in the middle east, and hope that Obama gets us out of that situation.
I did like McCain's concession speach last night. And I agree completely. Obama is the man with the keys. It's time to get behind him and hope in 4 years we're in a much better place, both home and abroad.
Now, back to music!! Satch in Dallas tomorrow night!!

You are sooo rude man. That was despicable what you said about me "getting my(?) welfare check"!!!
My husband and I both work hard to earn a living and have a very modest income together!! We make much less than $50K a year!! We bought a MODEST townhome with an inheritance from my husband's grandmother many years ago!! And are hoping to save up enough to take a vacation at some point in the future. AND it may never happen.
My husband, Steve, was layed off from an employer he faithfully worked for for over 21 years and since then has taken a sales associate job at home depot where he is on his feet at least 8 hours a day!! We both have disabilities, however, we don't want hand outs from anyone!! My husband could be facing surgery or a Cyberknife to remove a lesion in his brain that causes his epileptic seizures!!
I have major depression and we both take expensive prescription medications!!!
What a despicable way to talk to someone who knows all too well what suffering is and has paid an extremely high price in this life!!
DON'T YOU EVER WRITE OR TALK TO ME THAT WAY AGAIN!!
:((((

Thank you for sharing "Crooked Rot".
Michelle,
Why am I living on this desolate, cold planet? I feel like I'm on trial, the jury is out, and the vultures are waiting for me to die so they can pick my bones clean!!!

Hey Joe...Excited to see you in Austin tonight. Are you doing any autographing before/after the show? Thought I would get you to sign our CPHS yearbook...since I missed getting it in '74! Taking my 24 year old son to see you as a Birthday gift. He didn't believe me when I told him we graduated together...had to show him the yearbook...thought it would be a kick to get you to sign it for me. See ya tonight!

beatles_freak34 - Congrats...that song is a good early step for a guitarist. ;-)
slanshroom - Yeah, John Williams is great. Every year around Labor Day (the first Monday in September in the US, which is traditionally considered the end of summer) he does two shows at the Hollywood Bowl where he conducts the LA Philharmonic. I've seen that twice in recent years...very cool.
CP Fan - Awesome...is there any way you can take a picture of Joe's high school photo, or scan it so we can see?
Enjoy the show tonight...if you hang out by his bus at the end of the night you'll probably be able to get an autograph.
...Austin...
