Are any T2Jers going to the San Diego or Los Angeles gigs next week? I'm meeting up with a ton of people at the Reno and SF shows, but it looks like I'll be alone at these two...
Let me know...even if you're a lurker. ;-)
roo - I agree...Tears In Heaven has to be one of the saddest songs there is.
Listening to: Michael Hedges - Watching My Life Go By (current song: Watching My Life Go By)

maritime, nice list there.
on the sour note, it has been my sad experence that on forums and the internet in general that people will say the harshest of things because of the anonymity. we have all read about the cyber bullying stuff for kids. well adults do it too and you just saw it. let it go it was just cyber stupidity. on the political thing, sour grapes. approx. 3/4 of voting america voted for CHANGE. this was not for the far left or far right. this was not republican or demorcrat. it was moderate thinking americans and WE made a choice not to continue with policies and thinking process' that are obviously not working. none of us on here i suspect are making 250k a year, none of us here want to see any more american jobs go overseas while a huge company makes a tax break on it. none of us here are for a huge welfare state. being a vet doesn't make 1 person more capable than another. it does make him a person who has honorably served his country. what i just saw was the summer of love idea from 1967 just come to some fruition. FINALLY. the people have spoke and so let their will be done.
and for all the noobs that come on here and don't like the T2J forum..you have the freedom to leave so...please do with out being divisive.
BACK TO MUSIC. listening to zappa live in new york. and drinking some very good cafe con leche.

Supper Dave - Sad to see you having to sell your gear but we do what we have to do to provide for the family. Good luck.
Seeing where you're from reminded me of some years ago when I was on hols in St Martin. My boy had been chatting to some Americans who were also on holiday, I ended up chatting with them myself and after a while was asked where I was from. I duly obliged and asked the same question back, whereupon my son piped up and said 'he's from Minute Soda'. Ah well, it was funny at the time!

Maritime,
Get your hands on the latest Dave Martone CD "Clean". Guests include Joe Satriani, Greg Howe, Billy Sheehan, Jennifer Batten and of course Danial Adair on pummeling dums as always.
In addition to Dave's usually quirky stuff, there is a cool slow tune kind of in an Eric Johnson/SRV East Wes Riviera Paradise style and a killer electric flamenco piece too. I will be posting a review of this baby when I get back from Mexico.....But in general, great album lots of different styles dynamics and sounds and great playing from Dave and all of the above.

Joe The Plumber....you can laugh, I think it's funny too. And actually, I grew up in Massachusetts. I've been up here in the north woods for 16 years. They can have that rat race on the east coast.

tikimon, very nicely said!
roo, Tears in Heaven is very sad.
Then again, this is one of the saddest songs I know.
I have to hear that song every feckin day at work over the satilite radio they pipe in. lmao!!
Speaking of work, I'm reminded of this song. It was on rotation at work when my pop was diagnosed with colon/rectal cancer. Tears would just roll down my face when I'd hear it. That sucked.
And now back to happy music!

Hi Joe just saw your show In Houston....My daughter and I were on the left side of the stage right up front... but not in front of you... I just wanted to let you know that "Always With me Always with you" is OUR song I used to dance her around the livingroom when she was little to it...( she's 27 now...) and we were in tears when you played it... THANKYOU!! Also it's our ringtone..so whenever I hear it I know it's my baby girl calling me ...you see we live in Different towns...so that's the real significance of the song to us... ALSO thank you for all the wonderful rock & roll too.... My daughter was blown away...I knew she would be...can't wait to see you again.

Roo--I like "Tears in Heaven" too! An Eric Clapton classic.
Maritime, Michelle, Mikesb, Slanshroom, Tikimon, JS_JS, JS1200JS1000, and other kind people....
Thank you for your caring and encouragement. Thanks for teaching me what this forum is all about. The disciples of Joe Satriani embody the grace and love he generously provides to his following.
Some of Joe's heavenly songs are as follows:
LIGHTS OF HEAVEN
SECRET PRAYER
A TRAIN OF ANGELS
LOVE THING
ALWAYS WITH ME, ALWAYS WITH YOU (I perceive as a song of unity)
REVELATION
They are also my favorite Satch songs...I still have much to learn about the great man.
Have a great day :)

Cappy Joe the Plumber Steve, I was in St. Martin this past summer.
Did you stay on the Dutch (Maarten) side or the French side? These days things are complicated there with guilders, euros and the almighty American dollar and strange but true, prices were anywhere from 10 to 15% cheaper for almost everything on the Dutch side but the French, with their characteristic attitude, payed more to stay and shop on their own side LMAO.....

Super Dave: I'm not old enough to work, but that must really suck as you said to have to sell your gear. Best of luck...
It's know properly dark when I get off the bus at the end of the day, just what you need when you're tired, sleepy, drowsy etc. after a long day learning about...erm...stuff. I think we should go back to hibernating in winter....

Hey Scoobs, we stayed on the Dutch side. Had a great time, didn't bother with changing any money, just used some USD from my working stash and the majic plastic card.
Drank lots of beer (no surprise there!) but one thing me and the Mrs particularly enjoyed was a morgans spiced rum and coke at the end of the afternoon as we cooled down in the apartment before washing and changing for the night.
