marksaurs, john5 is a person not a group. he has been in marilyn manson's band and is currently in rob zombie's band. he has 4 solo cd's out. he is also a highly sought after session guy. he plays telecaster and can pretty much play any style of guitar.

Joe - we cant wait to see you and the other musterions. Rock on!

Tikimon! thanks so much for the education. Will definately have to check him out. I marvel at guys that can wrangle such exotic sounds out of Tele's. I tried. Lord knows, I tried hard. Just couldn't make that ax work for me.

I love Telecasters. I have an early 90's Foto Flame Tele. It has a neck like a baseball bat and I replaced the stock pick-ups with Texas Special Tele's. Great sound...she's my only mistress..lol.

In the very near future I will also be selling off some of my effect pedals which I no longer use. A Morley Wah / Volume pedal...A Fulltone Ultimate Octave...and my Digitech Whammy. I'll post a link when they are up for sale.

tikimon...congrats on being the 176,000th post..

Hey Joe, Just wanted to thank you for the amazing Montreal show last Friday Oct 17. I was spoiled & enjoyed the show from one of the VIP lounges with 2 dear friends. The show was incredible...I left feeling more awake & alive than I have in ages. Your music absolutely fed & filled my soul...it was like going to a soul-spa !!! I'm so grateful that you chose to share your music with us. Touring is not easy - there are so many sacrifices that you all make to bring us your music live and in person, but when you create that magical energy and share it with a room full of people, you make the world a better place. So I felt compelled to thank you and to remind you that the personal sacrifices that you all make every day makes a huge difference in our lives. Stu - thanks a bundle for tossing your pick my way! Every time I look at it - it makes me smile remembering an amazing night. Thank you all! Pamela

Good Morning Satchland...... How is everyone?

Zen.......Nice vid on Roy. Man, I loved that man. His tone on that vid was stabbing me in the heart. I'm on my way to the hospital....lol......

Austin......Laurel Canyon is a great movie. We were in LA a few years a ago checkin' out a school for our son Sean. Anyway when we got back we rented the DVD and it brought back a lot of memories of the trip. Great cult music flick.

Guitarman77897...... How are you? The Chicago show rocked like always. It's never a dull moment at a Satriani show. You never know what you're gonna get .....but you know it's gonna Rock. Anyway, The guitar Joe played during the jam with Leslie I believe was Leslie's signature PRS. I think it was released early this year. I haven't checked it but you heard Joe say he wants to get one so........

Band update...... Should be finishing up the demo cd this week end. I'll let you know when the songs are posted. Your opinions always mean a lot to me so give it to me with both barrels. Cappy.... Don't get any ideas...lol....

Go Bears !!!!!

Kyle Orton is surprising the shit out of me. But then again he isn't. I actually think the Bears might have a quarterback. We've only ben' waiting since McMahon from "85". I think Chicago is due.....

Have A Great Day Everyone !!!!!!!

Keniko....At the Minneapolis show Joe said he got his PRS (#49 ) from Leslie... He still sounded like himself even on a different guitar. Just goes to show how much of a guitarist's sound comes from their amp too.

Yo everyone,

This week has been busy for me:

Tuesday, I jogged a 10K to get ready for Sunday's race. Wish me luck Sunday guys. I'll let you know how I do Sunday.

Wednesday, I had work at the Holiday Inn and after that I headed straight over to the library for a book signing. The author was Richard Paul Evans, really great author. He was promoting his new book called Grace and he was doing a book signing as well. I managed to get the book signed and I will use it for a Christmas gift for my Mom. I read all of his books and they are all excellent. Anybody that wants to read a great book, I would recommend any book from Richard Paul Evans (famous for his books such as the Christmas Box, The Looking Glass, and The Gift). Check all of his books out guys (I already read all of them).

Thursday I had to train a server in our Hilton restaurant (Cut'z). I taught her well. I even got caught up on some other things such as my laundry and paying my rent for November.

ZuperDave: Wow!!! You would do actually do that? I should at least pay for that as well. Prayers to you and the family.

Out of the Setlist & js1200js1000: What's up guys!? Thought I give a holla to you before I head on it to work.

Well, I gotta run, I got to head over to work at the Holiday Inn.

See ya!!! Glitz Man

Out of the setlist- My favorite SW project is of course Porcupine tree, my favorite album is death wing, I went to his concert here in Mexico, Iand I´m also excited with his new solo album called Isurgentes, because he made a video in which you can see some parts of Xochimilco, CU, and more others from Mexico. I recomend you to watch some videos about that on Youtube.

Muriel Anderson performing live in Germany

John Phillip Sousa's "Monty Pythons Flying Circus now THAT is a class cover tune!

It also reminds me what is missing so much in guitar music..passion nope...feel no...technique defo no...DYNAMICS ffs why do all guitarists these days have a solo that plays at 10 begin t end, why not drop the attack every now n again sheesh...thats why i dig ya Joe, y nailed that

For anyone that doesnt understand that, basically its playing with less volume & gradually building it up to something hopefully amazing or it could be using that concept in a snapshot

ZuperDave...... I think it comes from the hands....touch,feel,approach of how you phrase the notes. Joe has such a soft touch....it's all over his soloing. I was reading an article on Steve Lukather. He was hanging with EVH. Eddie started playing Steve's "Luke" model through Steve's amp and he sounded just like.....Eddie.

Edit..... Glitz Man..... Good Luck to ya.......

Kenico:Totally agree...pass a guitar t any of those cats its going t sound like them...a loveable TONE is another issue, it can make or break many a musician & that DOESNT come JUST from the hands

eg Gary Moore with strat

Gary Moore with Les paul

Same man different TONE

This idea TONE is all in the fingers is bull t me, the FEEL of SOUL HEART is in the fingers end of story!!!! TONE is for amps & guitars...how we pick our poison depends..there is no end t the tone search for anyone, its a black hole, the way out for me is taking an acoustic guitar open tuned t a tuning i dont know which bypass thought n all i,ve learnt bar technique, sit next t the sea mountain n noodle, works a peach every time, its my way, not THE way but i find me in the mad chaos of it all

Thanks for making the music you make! You are an incredible musician that makes music with tremendous feeling! I've been a fan since day one. Everytime your tour comes anywhere near Colorado, I do my best to get tickets. Missed one show but still have the ticket! I like to mash my pedals while listening to you. I eagerly anticipate any upcoming album. This will be the first show that I've been this close to the stage. Hope to meet & greet! See Ya in Albq!

t-ho, ty, I'm so honored, really.

And ermmmm...they do make a cream fer that itch, right? =| I'm glad yer all the way across the states from me......btw, I prolly missed it but what do you do in your job? And spending time with Joe is the BEST way to relax imo. As I told Joe once before, he's our VACATION!

Slan, I can't check your 911 link out till I get home tonight, but I will. My brother has been saying for quite some time now that we perpetrated that act on ourselves in order to have a "valid" justification to be in the war. He says some day the truth will come out.....it's so sad to think that this could be. Hopefully better times are coming.

Mckenna, nice job, as i already tole u....bends are the way to go, eh?

JSPhil: As ever, good vids. That's my idea of a great few days, GP and then Joe gig! =D
marksaurs: Nice to see you mention Rory G, very underated player. Worthy of much more praise than he gets.
