I'm home.......... flamin 4 degrees! That's just stupid (it was 18 - 20 in San Fran), as was my car deciding it really didn't want to start due to being left out in the cold.

Cheese - reporting in as requested : ) I would text but if yer phones on I think that might be a little too early. Brilliantly I finally managed to switch to CA time, albeit a couple hours into the flight home LOL So this'll be a fun week. Thanks again for everything

Having heard the police story in the lobby Saturday night... no comment, other than from the sound of it Al got himself in trouble all on his own... again ; )

Do The Stu/Blue Moon - guys, really wish I had more time to hang out on Saturday, glad I got to spend a bit of time Friday, and thanks for the tour or Reno. I'll stay longer next time... hell, what am I saying next time!?

So, do I need to book up now for a chickenfoot gig ; )

DCK - too funny! There seemed to be plenty of strange people in San Fran... (opens door for Al related comment....)

Michelle - aw crap, I didn't get to add chatting to you onto my list of "cool things to do during 3 days in CA"... maybe next time

Just Joan / Mahavishnu - likewise, sorry I didn't get to hang out so much, but it was cool meeting you, and all part of a great Joe experience.

Maybe it's the spaced out on a plane thing but does anyone else see Galen in THIS video? I thought I did on the way home, and maybe pre'96 Joe too? Try at 3 mins 40 : )

Right, knackered... floaty head

Later Phil

Hello Everyone,

I have had a eventful, but busy week!!! We had our huge Grand Opening to the public of the Holiday Inn back last Thursday, on the 13th. After the Grand Opening, we had to reset our ballroom for a VIP Dinner. The owners of Focus, who owns the Holiday Inn were there. As well as the Vice President, the Presidents of Operations, Marketing, etc.

Last night, we had our party for 350 people. It was VIP party for the Chancellor of IPFW University and the IPFW Teachers and Staff. It went really well and they even ate "all" the food that we prepared for them.

SuperDaveMcCarthy: How are you and the family doing man? Thank you again for the CD and autographed sleeve. My best friend is a little jealous of me about getting it, but he's cool with it. What he doesn't know is that he is getting a copy of Additional Creations, which will surprise him big time. The weather here is getting cold and it is even starting to snow (awesome)! Hope your job(s) are going well too. My job is going well at the Holiday Inn (being this so-called "Jack of all Trades" by almost the entire staff. Keep in touch or send me an e-mail.

Do the Stu: Hope you had fun seeing Joe in concert. What were some of the highlights? Hope you had a safe trip man. Stay in touch man.

js1200js1000: How are you doing up there in Canada? How is your Mom doing? I hope you two had fun together. Did you say that you are getting of copy of Additional Creations? If so, that is awesome!!! Keep in touch man.

cheese 101: I am happy for you for seeing Joe. What did you like best? Hope you had a safe trip to see Joe and on the way back home in Oregon. By the way, where is Klamath Falls? I was just curious. Keep in touch.

GoldenGirl2 and Castle 49: I hope those fires are not causing too much damage out there in California. It will be terrible if those fires were to happen again during this upcoming Holiday Season. Keep in touch, both of you!

GoldenGirl2: Hey there again, I am glad they caught that person. It was just wrong for him to go out and kill those people. Stay in touch girl!!!

Blue_Moon: Hope you got back to Ireland safely. How is it over there? I like to visit Ireland sometime. Anyway, hope you enjoyed seeing Joe. What did you like best when seeing Joe? Keep in touch man!

michelle: How are you doing? I was surprised to hear what that woman did. Why would she go out there and have that truck hit her? I heard some info that every 18 minutes, a person will commit suicide. I am not sure if that is true or not. I saw a music video by Good Charlotte called "Hold On" and in the beginning, they showed that quote. Going back to Joe, what was the best part when seeing Joe in concert? Keep in touch girl!!!

death cube k: Hey man, how are things going with you up in Canada? It has been busy for me with non-stop work. Hope things are going well with you.

skippygirl: Good Day to you down under in Australia? How are you doing? Thank you for the praise on my running. I am planning on doing a 5K Run this upcoming Saturday. Wish me luck on that (AND WISH ME LUCK EVERYBODY ON SATURDAY)!!! It does feel good to get some exercise in you. Take care of yourself and stay in touch!

Joe Satrini: Good day to you. Hope you got back to the United Kingdom safely. What was your favorite part(s) when seeing Joe in concert? Did you get your car fixed, or started up to be specific?

little j: Hi, how are you? Welcome to the site. Are you related to Joe? If so, cool!!! How is the weather down in Florida? It is cold and snowing on and off here in Indiana.

PeterG: I didn't know that Joe was a vegetarian. I am kind of thinking about going vegetarian, but I haven't made a final decison yet.

5150rando: Welcome to the site!!! When did you start becoming a fan of Joe Satriani? What songs do you like from him?

Well, I better stop for now. Got some things to get done. Bye Satch fans!!!

I never thought of Joe as a vegetarian. I figured he was a meat 'n potatoes kind of guy like I am.

As a matter of fact, we had venison tenderloins for dinner last night. And these tenderloins were frolicking through the forest not three days ago. You can't get more carnivorous than that. It is firearms deer season in Minnesota, and my wife's dad is a hunter so we've been eating good ;)

GlitzMan....it's going. We still can't afford to pay attention, but we're hanging on..thanks.

Joe Satriani ROCKS...What is your purpose? I just want to ROCK!

I had front row seats at the Joe Satriani concert with Mountain at the Dodge Theater in Phoenix, Sunday night 11/9/08….totally awesome! I've seen Satch now about 6 times in Phoenix and the Detroit area (where I use to live).

The concert was the best yet, I’d say, probably because of where I sat. I bought front row seats. So I had my own guitar lesson from the master. I mean I could have helped Satch do some finger taping; that’s how close – smack right in front of him. I’m sure he preferred a cute chick, but hey, I was playing air-guitar right along with him. His guitar playing is so intense; my ears welcomed some of his slow songs (I think he played 2). He had a good backup rhythm guitarist playing along this time, which made the sound very full and complete.

Mountain was pretty cool too. The only song I remember from them was Mississippi Queen. I caught a Corky Laing drum stick, and one of Stu Hamm’s base guitar picks (he actually hit me in the chest with it – good aim). That dude can play base; he did an awesome base solo, playing familiar songs – he almost makes me feel like taking up base guitar.

Leslie West played some pretty cool blues guitar in his band, and then later at the end with Satch (dueling guitars on the Dean Leslie West Signature guitar). My ears are still ringing with Satriani tunes...

I do have to go out and buy some of Satriani’s newer stuff - for sure. A lot of the songs he played Sunday night were very intense and from his newer recordings. Did I tell you my ears are still ringing with his tunes….

One other thing I forgot to tell you about the show. Almost half way into Mountain performance, Leslie West just fell over – dropped to the floor and didn’t move. I know he's getting up there in age theses days, but... Of course I thought….shoot, I got front row tickets to see Leslie West’s last performance and die of a heart-attack….live in my face. Everybody just stopped playing and all the house lights went on. I guess he must of tripped over a chord or peddle or something. A couple of guitar techs came running out and helped him back up. All Leslie said was: damn that hurt, and then continued with the show. What a rush!

Good Afternoon Satchland...... I'm sick and it sux......

Joe Satrini......I use the stock tubes in my JSX. There are Four EL34 power amp tubes driven by a 12AX7 but can be switched to 6L6's. The switch is on the chassie behind the panel near send levels. You can see it with a flashlight. Hope this helps. Take Care.

Reno Peeps...... Well it sounds like everyone had a great time. What a place to see Joe. That had to of been great. Glad all is back safe.....

Wolf's coffee - Tim Hortons, no cream or sugar, light on the shrooms.

Phil, glad you made it home safely. Next time - LOL! Yer hooked!!

Glitz man, I'm doing good, thanks. Mental illness makes people do all sorts of crazy things. It's really a shame she had to invole other people. I hate when that happens. Here's the video HOLD ON. Hold on is the perfect mantra.

Geez, the best part of seeing Joe...is seeing Joe! LOL! It's seeing my "Joe show" friends I see on every tour, it's seeing Mike Manning look at me like he knows me and making him smile, it's hearing my favorite songs and watching the band make them even better with every tour, it's making my way to the stage at some point during the show, it's watching Jeff play (nuff said - lol), and it's getting a hug or two from Joe after the show. ha! Now ya got me smiling from ear to ear. lol! Good times man, good times!

Chee, I still don't understand why Stu chose a soccer game with his youngin' over hanging out with hookers and junkies and the T2J peeps. Makes no sense t meh! lmao! The stories from this trip are hilarious! I can't wait to hear how Alcatraz was and see pictures. I'm prolly gonna pop an aneurysm from laughing so hard! I need more phone pics! Tell the massive one to send more!!! ;-)

Ken, feel better soon. Some of the T2J peeps are STILL GOING! They're in SF having a freakin' party 24/7...well...that is, if Mc is awake yet. lol! I expect to see pics of McKenna with his pants dropped at some point lol! He loves his arse. lol!

This site kicks ass.... and back in the UK, jet lag is kicking mine!

As bits and bobs pop back into my head Joe said that he's still toying with an acoustic record, but he doesn't think he'll be up to scratch for around another 4 years as he needs to dedicate himself to it. Just when he thinks he's ready he listens to Tommy Emmanuelle and then realises how far he has to go... ?

Glitz Man - hi, thanks for posting. All back safe and sound, hard to think only a few hours ago and I was over there having such a cool time. Favourite parts - meeting the T2J posse, seeing such an awesome band lineup (there's extra magic right now and I can't get enough), and hanging with Joe. The SF evening had to be the best, parked in front of Joe "all night long (all night....)... all night long...."

Cheese - lots of street people huh! You're spot on on the surreal front. Does not compute! I've done plenty of long distance before and never struggled like that. But it was a pretty intense week before I headed stateside so wondering if that's part of it. It won't stop me doing it again though, just too cool. Good luck for tomorrow!! Has Al been let out of his special island accomodation yet??

IbanezJoan - crazy? We're not crazy, we just have satchafunkamonkeywotsit-alitus.... or something like that. It's an experience that has to be done. There'll be more peeps next time ha ha

Keniko - sorry to hear that, get better soon. Thanks for answering my post. We all had a great time, had to, it's Satch : )

Michelle - definitely a next time, and I'll make it a longer visit. You gonna join in? Go on, you know you want to

Right, time for some (possibly boring) pics of the trip

Night all
Phil

P.S Please can someone email me the group shot as soon as they have it, and also the shot of me/chris/tracey - not sure if it was all on the same camera... thanks

I know half of our T2J party people are still in San Francisco, but...which of our cameras was used to take the group photo after the show? I wanna see it! ;-)

I see more things I want to reply to scattered over the past few days of posts, but I gotta get going now. I'll be back here later tonight, I guess...

But first...Tracie, I'll call you in a bit if I don't hear from you, but have you looked at your directions to see if/where we can, ummm, transfer custody of Al from you to me? I just looked at Google Maps and it looks like your directions might not take you all the way to Sacramento on your way home (but that'd only be 30 minutes more to your trip...maybe we could meet somewhere for breakfast?). Or we could meet in Davis, which kinda splits the difference (only 10 minutes more for you).

BTW the Guest guitar metal solo on BlueBossaPheonix is by another friend you have yet t meet here the excellent Paul Clark. My style is more about full on clean attack t strings without the use of Overdrive or Distortion so i asked the man t do a lil solo number, i love the contrast personally, i wish i could settle on a Dist/Ov tone i like i,m REALLY fussy that way, so for now i,m stickin t what comes natural, anyhoos back t rec work a good day t y bud
