Igneousiceman--That Cowbell vid was funny! lol!

Michelle--I pronounce you "Godess of the Message Board" you really make my day! Wankin' vs. wailin'! You make me lmao!! I hope you take your vid camera with you and catch some of these precious moments when you attend a Satch concert!! Isn't the English language diverse and a crack up at times?! So many different meanings to words.

AND Michelle--I agree about the suicide you mentioned, the woman wasn't thinking, she was obviously on "autopilot mode" when she ran in front of the rig. What a despicable act! You have further encouraged me to seek help and I have. Years ago when I was diagnosed with depression, I committed myself to a psych ward at a nearby hospital and my husband accompanied me. I was given treatment, follow-up support and after 3 days I was released. It wasn't easy, but it was necessary for my own and others safety. I am responsible for not only my own actions, but other people's safety as well.

As I said before, we are all in this world together! I need to do right by everyone. It is my moral, God-given duty! I am an heiress of the same God that gave Joe Satriani his infinite gifts and capacity to express them.

Happy Sunday everyone!

;D GoldenGirl2--Milli

Good news everyone--They caught the guy that murdered the 3 execs at the Scott Blvd., Santa Clara firm. The Santa Clara City police caught him at a major intersection in the city of Mountain View. I hope justice will be swift!

Meanwhile, news of southern california--There are 4 fires--one in Santa Barbara County that is nearly contained (Castle49--I think you have more info on this than I), one near Sylmar in L.A. county, one at the border of Orange and Riverside counties and one started by an arsonist in Malibu. Fortunately, the cops caught the arsonist not long after the fire was set!

Hello, Joe!

I'm looking to make the transition from a carnivorous diet to one more herbaceous. I know you are a vegetarian. Do you make actual meals or do you just pick at things during the day? Also, how do you keep from losing your mind over being hungry? Are there satisfying recipes out there? What are some recipes that you like?

Regards,

Peter Grasso Derry, NH

OK...now that I've had a chance to get some sleep, I'll elaborate on my "Satch rocks" comment.

The songs I mentioned in Reno are still the highlight of the four shows I just saw, but the performance/energy of the San Francisco show as a whole is the best of the four.

Both bands played their full set again...I heard Mountain do Crossroads for the first time this tour. The rest of their set was pretty similar to the other shows. And Joe had Overdriver, Super Colossal, and Cool #9 back in.

There were a few end-of-tour jokes spread throughout the night. Corky Lang had the regular bit at each show where he'd purposefully knock a cymbal stand over, and the drum tech would run out to fix it. In SF, the stand was attached to fishing line that was strung over the top of the stage...and whenever he knocked it over, someone would pull the string and it'd come back up on its own...really funny.

Joe's whole set was solid...I think the highlight for me this time around would be Flying In A Blue Dream, actually. That might be the best version of that song I've ever heard.

Leslie broke a string during Stormy Monday, and his tech brought out Joe's white JS series guitar for him to play. The strap on that guitar was set up perfectly and everything, so I think Leslie "broke" the string on purpose...just to play it. ;-) But it was really cool to see Satch playing a Leslie West guitar and Leslie playing a JS guitar. And it was fun to watch Leslie try to use the whammy bar.

I met Joe after the show (Al gave me the second aftershow pass...more on that later) and he said it was Leslie's guitar for good now. Joe had used that for a few album/tour cycles and seemed a bit sad to let it go...but it's Leslie West. ;-)

Corky and Rev from Mountain came out for Going Down, so that ended up being a huge jam. And a ton of red and white balloons fell from the ceiling so that song was one huge party...

I met all of Mountain after their show and got autographs...Leslie was pretty busy talking to other people, but I talked to Corky and Rev quite a bit.

I also met all of Joe's band, including Stu (finally!). I got a picture with most of 'em and got autographs. Very cool...

I have some news to share, but I'll put that in a new post so things aren't cluttered.

...Austin...

Galen said he will likely be the road manager for next year's Chickenfoot tour. He says there are nine Chickenfoot songs so far. Joe said they still need to finish recording, as we all know...that'll happen in December (Sammy still has some shows this week in New Orleans and St. Louis). Galen said they're looking for a March release date, but they don't yet know (or maybe Galen just wouldn't tell me...hehe) what record label it'll come out on. Galen also said it might end up being an arena tour, which would be awesome...I'd love to see Satch in a 20,000-seat venue, even if it means I'll be much further back from the stage than I usually am.

Both Galen and Jeff joked about being more or less out of work for the next year. I bugged Jeff about doing some kind of solo album or side project in the meantime, and he said he had some session work lined up. Also, he said he hoped to get his own website up and running in the next few months.

Jon Luini was also there...I was able to get some info out of him for the YouTube live thing on 11/22. It sounds like plans for that event are changing all the time, but people seem to think it'll be a huge variety show / festival setting and Satch will only do a song or two. I won two free tickets to that, so I might go, but I also have Buckethead tickets for the same night so I'll probably do that instead (Al has a ticket to that and I'm his ride, so...).

I'm sure I've forgotten a thing or two, so I'll probably make another post in a bit.

Actually, I do have one last piece of news: Tracie and Al had a run-in with a police officer at Joe's show...I'll just be vague and say that they'll be spending some time in a police car soon.

Did they get into a fight? Did Al make a bomb threat? Will they be arrested? Is Al going to be deported? Or is it something else entirely? I'll let them share... ;-)

...Austin...

Austin, the 2 things that stand out in yer posts - Jeff's own website (HELL YEAH!), and A & T's run in with the law. LMMFAO!! Now that's a party!! I'da put my monies on J & A!! lmao!

Skippy, I talked to Al on the phone the other night. He loves San Fransisco, and he's having a great time. He went to a pub (or poob as he says) crawl Thursday night with peeps from the hostel, he took a tram and got lost - then found his way back, but he still hadn't seen Alacatraz. I'm thinking he prolly wouldn't like the east coast USA as much as he likes the west. lol! He'd be freezing his junk off if he was here. lol!

Cappy I know how you like to spice it up. LOL!

HOLEE GUACAMOLE!!!!!

What a trip this has been so far OMHFG!!! Joanie, Phil, Austin, his dad and brother, Brian and his wife Debbie, and of course the Mckenna all made it in safe and sound and away we all went for the two shows..... I hafta say the Reno venue absolutely did suck huge lemons, I hope Joe never plays there again...maybe back to the Grand Sierra, eh? But the show was good because hell, it was JOE!!!

Plus we had aftershow passes for that show and Joe was so gracious and fun as usual....

Joe...did ya share the boozy chocolates with everyone last night? LOL...orrrrr, did Lindsey end up with them :) She's a very sweet person, it was nice to meet her and she took good care of Al and Phil in all the confusion of me being the one to buy the Club Joe tickets, but for the guys, not me. It all worked out in the end :)

As has already been said, the San Fran show was totally off the hook from beginning to end...it was the last night of the tour and they all just poured everything they had into every single song. I highly recommend always attending the final show of a tour if you can because it's always the best time!!

We were almost center stage for the SF show and I got some great photos of all the guys...we ended up with two drumsticks from Corky Lainge, two Stu picks and a Joe pick, THE FIRST EVER WE CAUGHT AT A SHOW, lol....yes, it's a lil thing but was a goal of Chris's for every show, lol. He gave away one Stu pick and one drum stick. It was the best night, totally :) And Mckenna and Austin really enjoyed their aftershows, so that was like icing on the cake.

Chelly, I need to catch up wiff u, will call soon omg....

As fer the police officer...well...yes....there's a story there...we may or may not be able to share what happened but suffice it to say....it ain't over yet ;) LMAO!!!

I don't know WHY Mc would complain that I'm always getting him into trouble, really.....

Chris is talking Mc's ear off which is a nice break for me...and is getting more and more excited about his upcoming lesson with Joe on Tuesday. Nothing will ever top that.

Hope our whole crew made the podcast, if there is one of the SF show especially....we made Joe smile :)

Alcatraz tomorrow with Joanie and the Mc...more later, if we can have internet access from jail that is.....

:D

Hey Joe, I caught your show at the Chicago Theater on 10/08/08 and was at the meet and greet. The show was great and you gave a stellar performance - the band was really tight. Everything from the start of" I Just Wanna Rock" on was great and you were flying! Stu's solo was also very cool. It was also fun to hear Leslie West playing his hits, nice choice. I was the guy who gave you the large heavy metal pick from ToneTek. Just wondering if you had a chance to check it out and what you thought. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thanks a lot Joe,

roffler--Thanks for the vids! Doyle Dykes on acoustic is amazing!

GManCometh--Nebraska is right in the middle of the country and I see no reason why Joe can't do a gig in Omaha or in your area of NE. It might even light a fire under me to visit your area!

Ibanezplr--Thanks for the reference to Flickr.com for pic of Andy Timmons! Also great to see vid of Jackson Browne, "Lives in the Balance" with Crosby, Stills & Nash.

Tracie & Al--I love getting your posts about San Francisco. Sometimes SF scares the hell out of me because I can't find a place to park and the traffic can be absolutely crazy! It's a place I need my hubby, Steve and my sister, Deb with me to help keep me from climbing trees or lamp posts! And you thought you peeps were wild and crazy!!

Had to work yesterday until 6 p.m.--I have to work every Saturday dedicated as I am to the library and my youth services team. Steve was on his feet all day yesterday unpacking freight and helping customers at the Depot. It's a living!! We were knackered when we got home......

Hell, even Austin got rave reviews! lol! (side note to Austin - sounds like yer a star - kudos to you). I can't wait to see pics and vids of all the monkey bidness. I was so happy talking to all my peeps on the phone that I had a glass of wine. That glass of wine made me so happy that I had another glass of wine! Now even my happy is happy :-)
