Hey Satch land!

Is it possible to get a Chrome boy in Denmark without going to USA? And how much is it worth?

Has there ever been made a "Ibanez RG (One type of guitar)" to "Fender Stratocaster (A other type of guitar)" sound pedal?

If you dont understand my question please ask

GlitzMan--California is slowly cooling off from the 80s in the SF South Bay area and L.A. area 90s--hot as summer, but it cools off at night. Today's weather predicted to be in the moderate 70s in SF bay area. SF itself tends to be cooler by about 10 degrees or so. The 3 fires in southern Cal are either completely contained or close to it last I checked. Castle49--- can you confirm, please. Will get back to you later.

SkippyGirl--I have asked my relatives for an acoustic guitar for Christmas. I would like the package that includes an instruction book, pics, extra strings, etc. I have fallen in love with a Fender. I hope your guitar dreams come true! ;)

Campbell--"You Shook Me All Night Long" is my favorite AC/DC song! Keep on rockin' that great stuff!

Ibanezplyr--Thanks for your look-up link suggestions--I can use all the info I can get. It just takes some time to read and digest all of them.

This site is a lifesaver for me!

Michelle--Thank you for the needed info on life/death issues especially suicide--a despicable symptom of an insidious disease--depression. I'm still reading what you sent. The thoughts that come to me about taking my own life will not prevail!!! I WILL FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT THESE DEMONS AND WITH GOD, LIFE, TRUTH AND LOVE ON MY SIDE, I WILL WIN!!!

roffler--Your instruction on Doyle Dykes is much appreciated!

maritime...No kidding about the non-stop playing. I had to make myself put the guitar down for a bit. The pedal compliments my Telecaster so nicely. Beefy and in your face sound without the harshness. I can't wait to use it in a live situation, which is about two weeks away. That'll give me plenty of time to dial in a nice setting. After tweaking it for the last half-hour or so, I found a good one for me.

Gain: 2 O'clock Tone: 11 Volume: 3

I have'nt messed with the Pad Switch yet. The only other pedal I might put in front of it is an Ibanez Turbo Tube Screamer that I use to boost my clean sound. And I don't even know if thats the right place for it yet. Before ? After? Between the Satchurator and my delay pedal? Lots of experimenting to be done.....I hate that...lol.

GoldenGirl2 - are you learning guitar?????? I would be very keen to follow how you go.

I am the sort of person who has to understand how the guitar works first, and in total, and then begin to break it down bit by bit and build up - my other disadvantage is never having learnt music generally.

I have just used a website (I'll find it again) which explains the scale of C and how each subsequent note in the do-re-me thingy is a certain mathematical increment to the one before it and then explains how the guitar works - just learnt what pickups, coils, bouts, bridges, necks, nuts, fingerboard and frets etc are and what they do!

I am thinking there might be an analogy to the computer keyboard - I can type with all fingers very quickly and I know where all the keys are and perhaps it is something like that with the fingerboard - in the end you just know where every note is and you build up speed (and only use the left hand)? What do you think?

I was practising typing "Joe Satriani" the other day to see how fast I can type it and it is about 1 second, maybe if I memorise the whole set of strings and frets that will be a start.

Interested in your take on learning.

Anibur, Almost 5,000 posts - bloody hell! Looks like I've been here a while. lol!

Phil Pip, ;-) Nice pics! I can't wait to see the rest from the gang. I'm soooo impatient. lol! Reno looks...flat. lol! Guess I'm used to having hills and mountains that when I see a place so flat it seems kind of dull (Like Florida). lol! Still beautiful, but just... flat. lol! How was the US scenery different from yer home town? I'm sure there were more loons here. The US is full of them. Canada too. lol!

Austin, hopefully you talked to Tracie by now. I sent her a text message telling her you had questions and she should read t2j yesterday. She sent me a text today saying they were waiting for Joe to start Chris's lesson, and Al & JJ were with them. They're having entirely to much fun for one tour! lol!

Cappy, I kinda dig that version, but I'd like it better with a ballsy voice like Lemmy singing it. lol! Here's heavier music wise, but still a fairy for a singer. lol! Jayzus! Now I gotta uncreep myself with some good stuff from back in the day when Het still had some balls to his voice.

GGirl, have you ever read Talking To Heaven by James Van Praagh? Check it out if you haven't.

CrystalPlanet4: Do you have a memory problem? You keep posting the same thing..

SkippyGirl: YES! Music is like typing or language. When you speak you don't need to think about how to say what you want to say, and when you type, you don't need to think about how to type what you want to type. The problem is, figuring out what you WANT to say!

You can think you know a lot about it and how to make the sounds you need, but you might want a certain "feeling" at a point in you song, and you need to experiment to work out how to do it.

Sort of like GNAAHHHHHH!! or made up words. You know how it feels, but you have to try typing it different ways to work out how to convey that idea to someone else.

I guess singers do the same thing, they end up screaming something weird and it becomes a karaoke classic.

But as someone else pointed out when they were talking about a lesson they had with Joe, a memory of every position for F (including all harmonics, natural AND artificial) AND bends, AND whammy dives, and whammy dives with artificial harmonics, and then memorizing all other notes in the same way. AND.... and then if you get bored, you could always memorizing all that in alternate tunings. :)

But then you know how to replicate sounds and phrases. I feel that this is a key to coming up with your own stuff. By being able to instantly (just about) replicate the sounds as they appear in your mind or as they appear in your heart, you can express yourself directly and get out what you are trying to say without being frustrated with translation from your mind to the instrument.

Rant rant rave rave.

So Joe, have you had some time to unwind yet, see the family, relax, chill and re-energize? We'd love a little blue on the T2J to let us know how you feel about the tour and how you are enjoying Chickenfoot.

Thanks again for the Tour, you made many many people around the world VERY happy.

Thanks Roo - that was probably the most meaningful way of putting it that I have heard. I suspected the permutations and combinations of notes and sounds and effect must be enormous, but still able to be committed to memory.

js1200canadian guy dude- It's in Madison Wisconsin, but I found out that they screwed up the order somehow. My dad called and they said they delivered it but no one was home (at 1:00 in the afternoon! NO WAY!!!!) and they didn't want to leave it there and took it back! then they called someone who told them it never shipped. so we went in today and re ordered it. now it's 5 days (before it was 1-2 weeks, what up with that?)

ALSO...while I was chatting with the person behind the desk, they have all the $1000+ guitars hanging on a wall behind the desk. I FINALLY SAW A JS1000BP THERE!!!!! every time I went there, there was always a JSX amp but never a JSguitar so I got to play it! My first time playing a JS guitar, Nov 18 2008 BIGGEST DAY OF MY LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the first time I ever played a Joe Satriani signature guitar! but the price was $1495(or around that, but I thought that the model was the cost, like the JS1000 was $1000 and the JS1200 was $1200 but guess not) so i had to leave it there :(((((( but I couldn't find the JSX this time so I had to play it on a line 6 amp. It would have been soo awesome to play a JS guitar on a JSX but oh well. THE JS1000 IS SO FREAKING LIGHT!!!! IT'S AMAZING!!! and I guess the reason I can't play SATCH SCREAMS is my guitar, For some reason I can't do it on my guitar but on the JS1000 I WAS SATCH SCREAMING FOR AN HOUR!!!!! ^_^ I want a JS guitar now more than ever!

my jaw still hurts like hell, my mom said I can;t be on the narcotics pain killers during school and so I was in pain all day and got yelled at in every class for putting my head down. I even got yelled at in STUDY HALL!!! WHO GET'S YELLED AT IN STUDY HALL??? so tomorrow I don't care what my mom says i am using the oxycodone

I am going to play guitar now, and my guitar will feel inferior after playing the JS. L8R >.<

michelle - Thanks for the note. I ended up calling Tracie last night and we got everything straightened out. Tracie will leave San Francisco with Al and meet me near Sacramento tomorrow morning. I'll pick him up there and drive him to Southern California...

The only question is...how far along on the drive down should I kick him out of my car and tell him he's on his own? ;-)

The Music collection is still collecting! It's amazing that I am almost buying something new every couple of days. I just dropped $170 or so on a box of singles and other bits the other week and got a box in the post 2 days ago. I check my post box every day (just about) and twice last week I had at least 3 package slips in there.

I actually don't even have many duplicate items.

I thought collecting for just one artist wouldn't be too hard.

I made a decision not to collect audio tapes and not to collect posters/etc (for now). And I'm still finding things.

Needless to say, it takes a while to find time to update the site. I'm taking a slow and steady approach, every few days I try to put aside time to enter a new item on the site. There's still a big backlog of items.

Got any cool items I don't have? Let me know, I'll probably be interested in buying them.

I figure that all these people who were lucky enough to collect or stumble upon rare items for Hendrix, and other artists, just did so because they had the chance at the time, I guess I've got chances to collect cool stuff so I make the most of it. Maybe I can donate the whole lot to the Satriani museum in the year 2056. By then we should have re-named the Earth as "Crystal Planet", the favourite drink will be "Ice 9" and everyone will be living in Harmony.

Whelp....just catching up a tetch, too much to say about the whole trip and not enuff internet cafe' time to do it in, so reviews, etc, pics, video...all will hafta wait till I gets me tired wee fuzzy head back to my house sometime 2mo. BUT!!!

Just spent some time with Joe giving a lesson to Chris....what can be said...absolutely wonderful and kinda surreal....he keeps asking me to pinch him to see if he's really awake and dint dream the whole thing :) It was an experience of a lifetime for my son to listen and learn and just try his best to absorb everything Joe had to say and show him. He was incredibly generous with his time and the gift of his knowledge he shared....luckily it's all on video so Chris will have it to watch and continue learning from for now till the end of time, lol!! I think I need to make a bazillion dvd copies cuz I KNOW he's gonna wear them out watching them.

How can u put into words what an experience like that means? You can't really...but....I guess you'd all know what I mean when I say it was great.

Thank you again Joe, from the bottom of our hearts. I'll try to catch Chris down from the clouds long enough to get him home safe and sound tomorrow, lol. We love ya!

Now...to deliver the Mckenna to the Austin and head up the road fer home....can't believe it's all over already...but yeah...

CHICKENPA NEXT YEAR, BE THERE OR BE SQUARE, WOO WOO!!

I'm so pooped, lol.......and we're leaving at the right time...it's been sunny and warm and lovely in SF this whole time, and just this afternoon turned chilly. Very fun city but....time to go home :)

michelle - I'm a star, you say? Woohoo!

Ya know, I also realized I didn't talk to you over the phone during our trip like some of the other crazy T2Jers did...I'll have to bug you next time we all get together, I guess. Who knows...maybe it'll be in person.

Also, I remember something in another post about me getting rave reviews? How's that work? I'm just a fan...Joe's the guy we all went to go see. ;-)

I'm still surprised the Warfield didn't self-destruct or the universe didn't collapse on itself when so many of us were in the same place at the same time...haha.

Joe, if you're reading this, thanks for giving us this page...it's really cool. :-)
