Hey Joe,

Where are you goin with that axe in your hand?

I would say you are out to conquer the world if not the galaxy!!!!

Thanks for the parts in your interview about your relationship with your sisters. You landed in the middle of doting sisters and a brother---what more could a kid want while growing up?

My older sister thought our parents had me just for HER!!! That's the way my sister was at 4-years-old when I landed in the family! Eleven years later my younger sister was born and I was in a sammish of girls!! I had to go out and unofficially adopt brothers. And that's another story!

Oh don't go to bed you lot! Just finished work so a bit of play time.

Hey Joe - I notice you've added the Jagger clip I posted about to your Favourites - you sure looked like you enjoyed that tour and the gig at the Corner Hotel looked like it rocked - great vest!.

Really enjoyed the Youtube live event too - had no idea why the Funtwo kid was with you but it made sense after I looked him up (someone here posted the wiki link).

Hope you enjoy a good rest, more time with the family and get the creative juices going again - either for Chickenfoot or your next great effort.

Happy early Thanksgiving, everyone... Tune into 95.5 KLOS at noon Pacific time (the same time zone as the T2J clock...about 12 hours and 10 minutes from now) to hear Alice's Restaurant by Arlo Guthrie. Here's a link:

http://www.955klos.com/

There's a link to listen live at the top right of that page. It's a Thanksgiving tradition, so...listen!

Cappy Steve - I'm not sure how serious your question was, but in my mind the answer is obvious. There are certain things you just don't do, and walking up to a security guard with a sword in each hand (regardless of your intentions) is one of them.

I feel the same way about most "police brutality" cases, or the incidents you hear about every now and then where people get shocked repeatedly by tasers. Don't talk back to cops, period. Even if you're confident you aren't breaking the law...it's not smart, and, to be honest, it isn't polite.

Igneousiceman - Michael Lee played on Fate Of Nations, the album 29 Palms is on, but I'm not sure if he played on that actual track. I'd have to dig through the liner notes to know for sure...

I still haven't see an obituary on him move on the AP wire...argh.

michelle - Make sure you get the expanded edition of Chaos In Motion (3 CDs and 2 DVDs).

Two other recent releases:
- Rush - Snakes & Arrows DVD (this just came out yesterday)
- U2 - Under A Blood Red Sky CD/DVD

Listening to: The Black Crowes - By Your Side (current song: Then She Said My Name)

Doo the Stoo - Well actually my comment was a little tongue in cheek as I don't know the details of the incident but I am really fed up with all the killing going on in the world. You are of course entitled to your views about talking back to cops being rude but I would say it depends upon the situation. Cops are not divine beings, they are not above the law themselves and the average cop is not particularly intelligent (and i'm not saying they're stupid either). Respect them and the job they do, absolutely, but they are still only human and make mistakes. I'd better stop now, this is turning into a rant and that was not my intention.

Peace.

A very early good morning Satchland...and happy turkey day !

Growing up with police in the family, my dad back in the mid to late 60's, my uncle who retired as a detective after 40 years, and my brother in law who is still a cop, I know one thing is very certain. Every one of them, whether they are smart or not so, expect to be respected. That's the bottom line. And I know all too well from personal experience that "lipping off" to any of them is futile. Whether they are on a power trip or not, it is best to be humble.

And I agree with you Cappy. Quite a few of them should NOT be in uniform. They lack the patience and abuse their power. When I first moved to Minnesota I had a sheriff's deputy that used to harass me at least once a week. He would pull me over all the time for no apparent reason looking for any little thing to write me up for. After he retired I had a little chat with him and basically told him off. There was nothing he could do about it, it was great. Enough about cops...

Have a good day everyone.....be good and drive safe..

SupersatchuratedDave - Over the years i've had dealings with the cops for a variety of different reasons. We have cops in the extended family, both uniform and plain clothes, I also have friends who are cops, one of which is an armed cop at Heathrow. Cops in my neck of the woods appear to be a little different to the ones I have dealt with in the States, we can speak with them more readily. An incident with an American cop a few years ago left me with a wry smile. One of my staff became involved in a fracas, I intervened and was settling down the situation when two of Portland's finest arrived, I tried to explain the situation and was treated with sneering contempt and told not to speak unless asked a question. After a while where they got several different accounts as to why things had kicked off they got back to me and asked who I was, before I got a chance to speak my staff member introduced me as Captain xxxxxx, their attitude changed immediately to one almost of deference. Things were then resolved very quickly and amicably. Amazing. Nevertheless, big respect to cops, they have a tough job to do and I think the majority do it as well as they can.

Speaking of robots, as we were walking around the wharf in San Fran....a guy had painted himself metallic silver and all his clothes, top to bottom were also silver. He stood on a bucket or pedestal of some sort and moved as though he was a robot. Spoke in this crazy high, electronic-sounding voice, dunno how he did that, but you had to do at least a double-take to make sure he was human and NOT a robot. It was the funniest and freakiest thing...interesting way to make a living, lol.....

Happy Thanksgiving everyone, hope you are all blessed in some way.

You especially Joe....we love ya.

24K on guitars this year! and you probably didn't get much change. I hope you at least got service with a smile...

Skippygirl: My wife's nearly left the 40's behind, and seen Joe four times and met him once. She doesn't play guitar 'as such' but Joe is the one reason she will allow me to get into debt. If it's anything Joe, I can normally swindle a purchase out of her.

Austin, I thougt Alice's Restaurant was only a tradition on WMMR in Philly! Very cool! I just got curious and went to WMMR.com and clicked "listen live" and I actually caught the last few minutes of it! LOL! They're playing it at 10:00, 12:00, and 2:00 est. Thanks for reminding me :-) As for Rush & U2, I dig the old stuff. Haven't really gotten into any of their newer stuff, at least not enough to buy it.

Hi Joe,

I just wanted to ask you to come tour Europe again. Well, I'm lying I really want you to do a gig in Croatia. Paul Gilbert was here twice, Mr. Vai once and now I think you should do a concert here so we(Croatian people starving for rock) can continue collecting G3 members!! I'm just joking, we'd need Malmsteen for that. Please think about coming here, it would be a great time for you and an even better time for me and my friends(and if you do want to come here, please come to Zagreb! Iron Maiden and Deep Purple came to Split so the capital, Zagreb, needs some more rock'n'roll!!)

thanks for all the input on the compressor thing. i guess i am going to look into them. another prolly "doh" question is, do you run it b4 or after the other pedal except in the slansh's case where he runs mulitple? i might even try that too. i love fiddling with my sound and nothing is sacred to me so i might try just about anything. the true by pass thing was an interesting read BUT, most of us don.t use 2' cables between our pedals. i have 6" little patch cables and keep everything nice and neat.

happy thanksgiving to all who do this. i have a bird and some fresh veggies going on and the house smells fabulous. already into the tiki drinkies too. salud to you all!!! todays drinks are the tropical itch(no rash cream needed) 1oz of vodka, 1oz of rum, 1/2oz of triple sec and 4oz of passion fruit nectar. mmmmmmmmm. next is the ever popular banana daquiri. 1oz of rum, 3oz of cream of coconut, 1oz cream de cacao, 1 whole banana, 4oz of pineapple juice. put it all in a blender and viola. all you need is a little paper umbrella. mix these with a guitar and you have some BIG fun.

listening to lyle lovett and his large band live in austin. next is the clash, london calling.

Hello everybody! Happy Thanksgiving Joe and to everyone!

I did a four-mile race this morning. I placed in the top 50 out of 800+.

Does anybody watch "Deal or No Deal"? I like that show a lot. I saw it last night and a lady from Minnesota took a deal of $260,000. Pretty good don't you think? When they opened her case to reveal what she could of won, she had 2 Million. I was dumbfounded and fell to the floor. I felt so bad for her. Anyway, watch the show when you get a chance.

Do the Stu: That is awesome to see the Black Crowes. That makes two of us because I have to work Thanksgiving as well. Christmas is in question.

SuperDaveMcCarthy: Hang in there man. Hope you have a great Thanksgiving with your family. Prayers to you and your family.

Skippygirl, roo, and to all the Aussies: Good day mates and Happy Thanksgiving. What's the weather like down there? I would like to visit Australia sometime, as well as Canada, and Europe.

Well, gotta go. I have to take care of a couple of things and then get ready for work.

Happy Thanksgiving Joe and Everyone!

HI This msg is basically for Mr. Joe Satriani. Mr. Joe was my first ever idol and inspiration when i started playing. Basically I started playing guitar at the age of 10-11 when i was forced by my mother. At that time i was not at all interested in guitar. I remember finding joe's album 'The Extremist' on one the cds my uncle gave me. That was when i learned that guitar is with infinite knowledge. That's when i started learning and playing leads. Before that i was stuck with the plain ol rhythmn. I used to play Hymns at the morning assembly in my school. There were some other guys who also used to play guitar and it became like a comprtition who'd learn a lead faster. basically i was the first at my school to introduce rock and metal at my school and was also the first to start stage antiques in my school. i recently bought the ibanez jem jr. I was thinking more of getting Joe's model but I was short with money So i bought Steve VAi's instead. My dream is to play with Mr. Satriani once in my life time and i will play with him. I'm working hard on learning guitar and making music at my place. Maybe a time could come that i'll jam with Joe Satriani himself. Hail to the Guru Namaste
