Hi there Joe, I have all your albums and have been lucky enough to see you at the house of blues in chicago and wembly in london. I have been mucking around with guitars for over43 years but don't seem to be getting anywhere, have you any tips you could pass onto me as I would love to be able to play like you?
I am now in Sydney Australia and wondered if you plan to tour in 2009?
I have to say everyone I play your music too becomes an instant fan and goes out and buys your albums.
As you can tell I'm a bof (boring old fart) of 55 and need your insperation to reach the highs of your Godlike playing,please any help would be gratefully recieved even if i have to go back to the beginning and start again trying to lose all my bad habits many thanks Iain

My son and I went to Arby's to pick up some food tonight. We were listening to Luminous Flesh Giant, and I was drumming on the steering wheel. I said to my son "Get ready for the cymbal part!" because of course I have to hit the cymbal away from the wheel and I love that part. lol! I always quiz my kids on music, so he turned the tables on me and said "Name that cymbal!". In my retarded glory I said "Betty". lmao! He says "It's a ride!" I tole him "yeah, Betty Ride!" Not to be confused with Ride, Sally, Ride. LOL!
YAY! Ally has landed! Let the pillaging begin!

I attended last night's show at the Dodge Theate in Phoenix and was very disappointed with the sound system; I couldn't hear any of your new music melodies - all drowned out by a lot of 'noise'. I sat in the PIt, as I have at other shows in the D.C. area and loved the shows ; this one, however was a total disappointment and I left early, as did the three guys around me. Wouldn't have been so bad but I had a 3 hour drive home to Hereford (close to Mexico) to think about it. Hope to see you again in AZ, but maybe Tucson will have a better venue!

Glitzy- I re-ignited my interest in Joe last year too, once I got my new iPod sorted and found him on Youtube.
I admire your running - tomorrow morning at 5.45 am I go for my 2nd group running session with a bunch of girlfriends - last Friday morning I managed to go round the footy oval once, (then intermittent walking and running) tomorrow morning the goal is 1.5 times LOL. I am a basketballer of 30 years but cant stand running, but need to get fit again so..
Iain- welcome mate, we need more Aussies at T2J! Sounds like you are a serious guitar guy. If you are interested in a "Great Mass Satch Jam" in Melbourne let me know and if I ever get it organised I'll make sure you are on the list .

This post is pretty short, so I guess I'll take a moment to remind all of the Satch fans who will be traveling to the show in San Francisco (and Reno, depending on the route you take) from out of state that it's now illegal for you to talk on a cell phone while driving a car in California. So, don't do it...unless you want to pay a fine. I hardly ever talk on the phone in my car, but I think that law sucks.
SuperDaveMcCarthy - I love the Ten Words melody...one of my favorite Satch moments for sure, even though I don't like that album all that much.

Austin, thanks for the heads up on the cell phone thing in Cali, not that I talk on it very often ever, but it's good to know...I'm retarded enuff that I'd be the one to get a ticket the one time I talk on the phone....and thanks for the congrats, that win came outta left field for me, never expected it!! Glitzman - Aha thanks for the explanation...so they are just the same as Chili's...I see...Things in the Uk are rainy, just hoping its not raining on Friday as I will start queing to see Paul Gilbert at about 4pm for doors open at 7pm and I don't wanna get wet, although it will be worth it to stand right in front of him again its the bestist place to be coz there is no barrier or anything, last time I could have played his guitar for him...I did have to watch my head sometimes though as Mikey nearly clocked me with the head of his guitar on a number of occasions!
Goldengirl2 - ??? er gem...er....would you like to explain coz I am a little lost?? Hey why the name...I used to watch a program called the Golden Girls?

BTW, I only changed my nick to Cappy because of that fecker Slan. He started calling me that and it caught on with a few others so I bowed to the inevitable and changed.

To add to Austin's post, do not get thrown off by the a--holes who do use their cell phones on the road. There's plenty of them, but YOU will be the one getting pulled over and ticketed for it. You know that's how it works! You can find some cheap bluetooth sets for 20 bucks or so...
Friendly reminder, In California pedestrians have the right of way... You think they're jaywalking? Stop anyway! I got a ticket for "not yielding" on the first week after I moved here, even though the person hadn't crossed the street yet(???). I'm sorry officer, I was thrown off by the green light! The best part of it: the officer told us we should pay attention on the road, and then he wrote the wrong car model on the freaking ticket!!! Gotta love this shit!
This rule sucks the most when you're trying to figure out where you're going!!! Oh, well... Sorry this turned into a rant...

hey what you dont know what latteral pull downs do?I will tell you Alana thats nut,s I just brought my latteral pull down 2001 york gym inside today okay say your pumping iron you have muscles rightbut their not knowhere near as good as they could be the lateral pull down goes over like combs though all the musclesthat you have developed and even,s them it bring,s like your chest together for even more usable power it connects all the muscles line and brings them together mine also has tricep push down and leg curl I have not used it in years this thing makes the inevidibity of death by power from muscles inevdible it forms them into group,s mine kills even better then just my free weight workout combined with this it kills their brain bust their nekc and deadend their flesh so it doesnt even line up with their eye sockets mine needs alittle tlc I kept it outside and always tarped it for winter hey babe yeah brought it in my basement today needs a good wash some silicone around the plugs where they pour the cement in I put a new cable on it few years ago when I was using it aircraft cable hardware store I think it was like 114 dollars or something anyways wait until you see this xcant workout until dentist though but I can work on it few days to defrost later wolf2.

HAVING MOM OVER FOR DINNER
Brian invited his mother over for dinner. During the course of the meal, Brian's mother couldn't help but notice how beautiful Brian's roommate, Jennifer, was. Brian's Mom had long been suspicious of a relationship between Brian and Jennifer, and this had only made her more curious.
Over the course of the evening, while watching the two interact, she started to wonder if there was more between Brian and Jennifer than met the eye.
Reading his mom's thoughts, Brian volunteered, 'I know what you must be thinking, but I assure you Jennifer and I are just roommates.'
About a week later, Jennifer came to Brian saying, 'Ever since your mother came to dinner, I've been unable to find the beautiful silver gravy ladle. You don't suppose she took it, do you?' Brian said, 'Well, I doubt it, but I'll send her an e-mail just to be sure.
So he sat down and wrote:
Dear Mom
I'm not saying that you 'did' take the gravy ladle from the house, I'm not saying that you 'did not' take the gravy ladle. But the fact remains that one has been missing ever since you were here for dinner.
