Regarding, 11-14-2k8 Reno show

I had front row seats with my buddy Dave. I was the guy in the red PUMA shirt in front of Joe's pedal board. I was literally 7 ft. in front of Joe while he was wankin' like a God! What a privilege for me. Leslie West was an awesome treat. The blues jam in the encore was killer! I was particularly happy to see Stu Hamm back in the line-up. Love Stu..by the way Stu...thanks for the bass pick! I especially liked how you fixed your hair for me when I took your picture..lol. You guys all have class and are very approachable people for being such god-like musicians. I only wish it were more possible for Mr. Campitelli to interact with the fans. He seems like he's just as nice a guy as the rest of you. Galen Henson...you do your job well and what an amazing job you have. You are a very lucky man indeed. I have seen you guys many many times in the past. This show was a gift to me from a friend. I dont think Im going to get a chance to ever see you guys perform again. Its nice to know that the last show I'll ever see of you guys was easily the best I have ever seen.

GGirl, that news sucks. Sucky news here is that a 41 year old woman who lives less that prolly 4 miles from me (no idea who she is) -anyways, she pulled over onto the side of the turnpike (toll highway), parked her car, got out, and freakin dashed out in front of an 18 wheeler! The odd thing is - it really pisses me off!!!! If yer gonna take yer own life, fer fux sake, don't make somebody else do it, and don't take innocent ppl with you!!!!!!!!!! The poor dude driving the truck swerved to miss her, but nailed her anyways. In his attempt to miss her, he could have taken out God knows how many ppl in other vehicles. Now this poor man has to live with this image of this...I'm gonna say it....dumb bitch, who didn't have the balls to get help or do it herself, getting hit by his truck. I don't condone suicide by any means, but geez man, that's just not right! Now the dude prolly feels like he killed her :-/ and it was his fault.

As for me and Tracie being at the show - nope. I'm here in PA. All me buds are on their way to SF. I have a kid in college, and one in 11th grade getting ready for college, so there's no travel monies for the next, say...10 years. lol! I just had a good time talking to them all on the phone last night.

Igneousiceman, HA! That's exactly the video I meant. lol!

andy of uk, we've had Heinz ketchup here forever. Does that mean you'll come over to the US for a visit now? lol!

Cappy, that "wankin'" comment made me laugh too. I've stood pretty close to the stage, and if Joe was "wankin' like a God", I'd have pictures to go with the story. lmao!! Wailin' is a bit more likeit. lol!

Andy Timmons rocks...and I love that Mesa set-up he uses..

Michelle.....It'll be coming up on the second Christmas since a friend of mine sat and waited by the RR tracks, waved to the engineers and then calmly walked in front of the train. Not only did he traumatize the engineer, but also his friends and family (two teenage sons). It's the only angry/sad feeling I get anymore. I understand he was depressed, but it was still a very selfish act.

Cappy - yes I suppose the physical wanking-like aspect of guitar playing is why so many men play guitar?

DTS and Joe Satrini - thanks for the Reno reviews - has Blue Moon gone missing? Any pics?

DTS I checked the San Diego vids on YT but couldn't see you.

We are preparing letters to Santa in our household - I am putting on mine a request for "Dummies Guide to Guitar".

Hey Satch!

I was in Reno for the show last night. Fantastic. The crowd really got into it too.

Great set list. At one point, we were waiting for your next song to play and my 17 year old son said "This would be the best night if he would play "Always with you..." now". That very second, you started and it was the song he wanted to hear. I drove him over 500 miles for his 17th b-day to see you. Couldn't have been a better night.

Also, great job on Time Machine. Really great job.

Stu is completely insane on the bass. Waht a stud.

And I think Leslie West really could jam for an old guy and his pipes are still sweet.

Galen and Jeff are truly fantastic.

Thanks for such a great night. Too bad the venue wasn't much more than a bingo room. No acoustics, flat seating. You did the best with what you had and I was happy to be there.

I've been to a lot of shows including Sting and David Gilmour. Yours has been the best I have ever been to.

Prototyped - woo hoo an Aussie drummer!!!! Welcome and tell us about yourself. Do you play some Satch? Maybe you could join the Great Mass Satch Jam whenever I get it organised.

sixnickells - lovely post about the concert, it was great your son got to go to his first Joe show. I love AWYAWM. I've just been listening to some early live versions of it and it is magic.

ibanezplyr - nice shot of you and Joe too!!!! Hey you didn't happen to see Blue Moon Al McKenna in Dublin did you?

Last show of the tour - by my calcs it is now 9pm in SF so I guess they are all at the Warfield right now, lucky buggers.

Great to see that everyone is having fun on this tour, and as Michelle says, it is absolutely awesome that so many people from literally many parts of the world can meet up on a website and then get to hang out on the shows. Cheers!

Austin, I do have an answer for your question, but I'll post it later when the dust has settled. Don't forget to post a thorough review of the In-n-Out as well!!

I have some cool pics from the El Paso show, I'll try to post them during the week. Later!

OMG - Joe, Jeff, Galen & Stu, that was the most awesome show I've seen you guys do yet!

I had a great time today, but the concert really iced it, the encores, the ending, and hanging out with all these great people from T2J - hell, it was probably worth the trip over from the UK just for that!

Hopefully there'll be a podcast so anyone who wasn't there can see what I'm talking about. Heads too buzzing to recall anything in great detail, and D, T & Mr Mck will probably put it in better form than I will.

Funs over now though, gotta pack in a bit and head home in the morning : (

Just Joan / Mahavushnu / Do The Stu / Cheese / Blue Moon / Guitarmeister2005 ? (Chris) and of course Joe & Band - thank you all so much for making such a great trip..... must do it again some time ; )

All the best Phil

P.S Y'all better mail me a link to the photos

Igneousiceman--That Cowbell vid was funny! lol!

Michelle--I pronounce you "Godess of the Message Board" you really make my day! Wankin' vs. wailin'! You make me lmao!! I hope you take your vid camera with you and catch some of these precious moments when you attend a Satch concert!! Isn't the English language diverse and a crack up at times?! So many different meanings to words.

AND Michelle--I agree about the suicide you mentioned, the woman wasn't thinking, she was obviously on "autopilot mode" when she ran in front of the rig. What a despicable act! You have further encouraged me to seek help and I have. Years ago when I was diagnosed with depression, I committed myself to a psych ward at a nearby hospital and my husband accompanied me. I was given treatment, follow-up support and after 3 days I was released. It wasn't easy, but it was necessary for my own and others safety. I am responsible for not only my own actions, but other people's safety as well.

As I said before, we are all in this world together! I need to do right by everyone. It is my moral, God-given duty! I am an heiress of the same God that gave Joe Satriani his infinite gifts and capacity to express them.

Happy Sunday everyone!

;D GoldenGirl2--Milli

Good news everyone--They caught the guy that murdered the 3 execs at the Scott Blvd., Santa Clara firm. The Santa Clara City police caught him at a major intersection in the city of Mountain View. I hope justice will be swift!

Meanwhile, news of southern california--There are 4 fires--one in Santa Barbara County that is nearly contained (Castle49--I think you have more info on this than I), one near Sylmar in L.A. county, one at the border of Orange and Riverside counties and one started by an arsonist in Malibu. Fortunately, the cops caught the arsonist not long after the fire was set!
