Just got home a bit ago from the Phx Show...took my 9 yr old daughter, it was her first concert ever. She had a blast, enjoyed every minute of it - thanks Joe & gang for a great show! I'll admit, I thought Leslie was down for good for a moment there...glad he's fine, his playing was stellar and a first-time treat, especially on the encore pieces. Looking forward to the next trip you all make through here in AZ!

Thanks, I reckon the Satchurator ticks more boxes for me, and it's much cheaper! Effigy wise, sounds lilke a scary 'Wicker man' style town that. One sunny day in 2009 an old man approached the White House from across Pennsylvania Avenue, where he'd been sitting on a park bench.

He spoke to the U.S. Marine standing guard and said, "I would like to go in and meet with President Bush." The Marine looked at the man and said, "Sir, Mr. Bush is no longer president and no longer resides here."

The old man said, "Okay" and walked away.

The following day, the same man approached the White House and said to the same Marine, "I would like to go in and meet with President Bush."

The Marine again told the man, "Sir, as I said yesterday, Mr. Bush is no longer president and no longer resides here."

The man thanked him and, again, just walked away.

The third day, the same man approached the White House and spoke to the very same U. S. Marine, saying, "I would like to go in and meet with President Bush." The Marine, understandably agitated at this point, looked at the man and said, "Sir, this is the third day in a row you have been here asking to speak to Mr. Bush. I've told you already that Mr. Bush is no longer the president and no longer resides here. Don't you understand?"

The old man looked at the Marine and said, "Oh, I understand. I just love hearing it."

The Marine snapped to attention, saluted, and said, "See you tomorrow."

Hey Satchland...

The last time I went to our local music store to buy guitar strings, I was surprised that the owner did'nt ask me to bend over first. I was charged a few pennies short of $10 for ONE set of GHS "Boomers". I was beside myself. Anyhow, I just ordered 3 sets of the same strings off of Musicians Friend.com for like $13.. shipping included. I mean, I'm all for supporting a local buisness but that's highway robbery..lol.

Chad...she's in the beginning, as Joe pans the audience she and her son are like about 7 or 8 people over...her son is tall and slender, and chelle is right next to him, on the left, she has dark hair and is SHORT! :) and she's holding her camera. There's a guy to the right of her son in a black jacket, then a lady in a reddish shirt, then Michelle's son A and then chelle....at about 11 seconds in.

Don't kill me chelle, u ARE a teeny but cute lil thang, lol!!

A man goes to live in a Monastery, and when he joins the head Monk tells him he has to take a vow of silence. 10 years pass without him saying a single word until one day he is summoned to the head Monk's office. "Its the tenth anniversary of your arrival here, is there anything you would like to say" " Yes" said the man, "The food here is terrible" and he turns around and walks out. 10 more years pass and again he is summoned to the Monks office. "Its been 20 years since your arrival, have you anything to say" "Yes" said the man, "My bed is rock hard" and he turns around and walks out. Another 10 years pass and once again the man is summoned to the Monks office. "Its been 30 years since you arrived, is there anything you would like to say" "Yes" said the man "Im quitting" "Probably a good idea said the Monk, you've done nothing but complain since you got here"

maritime...I'll never buy strings there again...lol. I like the owner of the store, she's very nice and always willing to help, but geezz !! I'd really like to know now what the mark-up is on everything else in the store. I played an acoustic a while back that played nice and was only $300. I wonder what she paid for it.

The instrumentals on my solo recording project were compared to the great Professor Satch... very flattering!

Of course I know better because I've been playing the guitar for 20 years... so I know no one compares to Joe, but it was a flattering comparison by a generous fan nonetheless.

To check out the works in question, Nucliess: Shades of Life, visit nucliess.com.

The instrumental tracks are track 8 (Summer Rain) and track 14 (Mid-Day Melody).

Thanks Joe for the inspiration... I guess some of it rubbed off!

js1200js1000.....I'd have to drive 350 miles one way to a Guitar Center to see any sort of signature guitars. Our local store does carry lower-end Fender, Martin, Hamer, Takamine and Yamaha guitars. Anything else would have to be "$pecial Ordered"....

After the Satch show in October, we went to the Minneapolis Guitar Center. When I asked to try out a JS-1000, the meatball with the thin tie and know-it-all attitude kind of rolled his eyes at me like I was the 100th person to come in that day and play it..lol. Needless to say, he was'nt going to earn a commision (did I spell that right?) from me. Especially with that attitude.

Today while experimenting with pedals, I realized that my Fulltone Ulitimate Octave has a louder and way better distorted sound than my Boss distortion pedal. Gotta love that Fulltone Fuzz. I think the Boss pedal is going in the closet for a back-up maybe.

I'll abuse my seniority powers and post here the review of last Friday's show in El Paso. Long post warning!

Never been inside the Plaza Theatre before, it is a very nice venue, it seemed a bit weird to see so many older people in dress slacks drinking wine and such, but I guess that's Mountain's crowd. Very first pleasant surprise was when I discovered that the venue map on Ticketmaster is way out of scale, what I thought was a 4th row seat on the left side of the stage turned out to be a 3rd row seat dead smack in the middle. Sweet!

Mountain was a very nice surprise, their music was good, Corky had a show by himself, knocking off cymbals and sending several sticks to the crowd while giving fingers to people who asked him for sticks and making faces at Leslie while he talked. Good music and fun guys, very entertaining set.

Satch rocked hard, not having seen him in 6 years and not having heard any CD's since Strange Beautiful Music, it was very refreshing to see him play 7 songs I had never heard before, highlights for me were Ghosts, Time Machine and what I think was Overdriver.

Jam at the end was extremely good, in all it was a bit over 3 hours (7:30 - 10:40) of great musicianship. And afterwards I was able to get Stu, Jeff and Satch to sign the stuff they hadn't signed 8 years ago when they were here, had a nice small chat with Jeff and got a "promise" from him they won't take 8 more years to come back.

Satch Setlist (this needs help, if you know the name of the new songs let me know): I Just Wanna Rock - Overdriver? - Ice 9 - Satch Boogie - FIABD - Ghosts - New song (sounds a bit similar to Zombie by the Cranberries) - New Song (main lick descends from high notes to low) - One Big Rush - Cool # 9 (with extended bluesy intro) - Time Machine (with extended spacey intro) - Bass Solo (Goin' to California and his regular riff) - Andalucia - Always.. - Surfin.. ENCORE: Crowd Chant - Summer Song - Stormy Monday (Leslie West) - Goin Down (Leslie West).
