FFS!!! LOL!

Just talked to Chris and he was chattering 90 miles a second, lol....he's STILL so pumped over his time with Joe, the smile hasn't dimmed. He's making plans to make this poster-sized collage of his Reno and San Fran memorabilia, including the lesson plan with Joe, also pictures, video stuffs, etc....that boy wears me OUT!!! But it's fun for him and good to see him so happy :)

Cube:Good on Mr Zenfish! Just finished a compound radius fret job for an ex students guitar, Epiphone Les Paul Standard, have y tried em? took me all night t get the bastage low action buzz free, what a gibber the nut was filed arseways as was the bridge as well...man i,ve nothing against the Chinese but WHY do they go t so much trouble making a quality wood instrument then balls it up by fitting dodgy hardware, it doesnt make sense

2 days ago i bought an umbrella in one of those Bizzar chinese cheapo places, 1 euro job, the feckin thing ripped apart n collapsed in one blow from the wind....again i wondered why bother making an umbrella that only works inside a building i mean if y look at an umbrella & all the parts it has, that takes a shit load of work right?¿

But funniest story has t go t a friend of mine that bought a Porno in one of these Bizzar shops in Barca. This shit had three lovely blondes on the cover claiming on the flip side they are doin each other every which way.Mr X gets back, wife is out with friends, kids with the grandparents, calls the lads round for a few beers n slips in Dr Porno DVD....3 old dames suckin off a midget for 10 mins & that porno thing Bill Hicks talked about "The Hairy bobbin man ass the kind o porno nobody loves" Mr X isnt thought of so dearly anymore

The moral of the story is if y want the best for cheap...call ME ffs

If you click here you can see all of the YouTube Live videos. Joe's video ranks 5th in views and 4th in comments compared to other show videos...very cool. We should all watch it a few more times to drive him up the list...

It's Free Dr Pepper Day because GNR released Chinese Democracy this year. Go here:

http://www.drpepper.com/freeDrPepper/?icamp=hp_dpfree_coupon

They'll supposedly email you a coupon, but you only have until midnight tonight to apply for one. Their site has been pretty busy...I tried to get one and the page just went blank when I submitted my info. But then I tried again and it said I had already used my email address, so I guess it went through. I still haven't yet received the coupon in my email though.

Arty0861 - Hi...welcome to the site! I like your top ten...some of those are my favorite Satch songs as well.
tikimon - To be fair, the YouTube live thing wasn't really advertised...especially not on this site. When I talked to Jon Luini after the SF show last week he said it'd probably be a song and a half, which is what it was.

It was free. It was fun. Joe and the band were very professional, they were having fun, and they probably made some new fans. Nothing wrong with that...

Igneousiceman - I believe that classical piece is Pachelbel's Canon In D. It's a popular progression so you've probably heard it elsewhere. And since we're talking about YouTube, click here for a video about it from comedian Rob Paravonian about how the music shows up everywhere. I may have got this video from here way back when, actually...
njbeast - Joe will finish recording the Chickenfoot stuff in December and they're hoping to release the album in late March.
hybes - I'm going to go buy Chinese Democracy as soon as I'm done here (remember, you can only get it at Best Buy). If you're impatient, though, you can hear the album on GNR's MySpace page.

I listened to a few seconds of a few random songs and to me all the songs have that epic November Rain or Estranged feel. That's good in small doses, but I don't think it'll work well across the album as a whole. I'm still buying it though, even though I don't like what Axl's been doing lately. Argh...

Blue_Moon - Awesome...I'm glad they had the album at Amoeba. How many other copies did they have there? I'm curious...

...Austin...

hey Joe, I`m not sure you`ll ever read this message, with you bein`busy and all,but I figured "what the hell"... I`d like to express my deepest gratitude for all you have given this world through your music.. I cannot even begin to tell you how much it means to me ,personally.. I`ve been a true listener and a fan since the first time I heard your music;wich is now about 18 years ago. Songs like "Cryin` " and "always with me,always with you" have carried me through some really tough times in my life.

There are many, very gifted musicians in this world.. but none of them inspire me as much as you do.. Many musicians talk the talk...but none of them walks the walk the way you do.. It`s truly amazing to witness you remaining this genuinely humble..and down -to- earth. That, to itself, is a sign of true greatness. So many ,many thanks to you.. Keep doin`what you do so unbelievably well!!

A Sincerely thankfull Fan...

slanshroom no idea why they bugger em up like that, i guess the more expensive hardware would jump the price out of its target pricepoint . and in reatail its all about price point .. i mean why use generic humbuckers when a good set of duncans bought in bulk would cost about the same and sound better even with the crappy electronics fitted too em .,

now , ya got me thinkinng about compressors ,, y bastich

Hello everybody: Do the Stu, js1200js1000, GoldenGirl2, SuperDaveMcCarthy, michelle, cheese 101, death cube k, tikimon, Blue Moon, Guitarman77897, to those who I forgot, and everyone!!!

How are things going? I hope you are all doing well. Nothing but work, running, and family and friends for me.

November 22nd will be a day that I wil never forget:

First, I ran my last points race for the Fort Wayne Track Club. I did not get one of my best times, but I did place in the top 30 out of about a liitle over 200. It was cold and windy!!!

After the race, I had to fill my car up with gas (gas is getting cheaper everyday now here. YEAH!!!). I got back at my apartment to get ready for work. At work, I had to do room service, be cashier, and serve all at the same time. I even helped out with Maintenance by taking down our huge Grand Opening sign outside.

After work, I received some e-mail that I won my age division with the FWTC. How awesome is that?! (Information about it at fwtc.org) I called a couple of friends to chill out and celebrate. That is when, for the first time in my life, I got drunk! I had a glass of White Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, and two glass of Chianti. Afterwards, we went to a bar and did a shot of tequila (Patron). I also had half a glass of Vodka and Cranberry. We chilled back at one of my friend's place afterwards and drank so more. As for me, I didn't because I drove my car. Therefore, I stayed for about another hour, which made me regain my composure/status, and drove home safely. What a day and night!

Today, I got up with a small headache, but it went away because I ate breakfast. Then I did laundry, grocery and Christmas shopping, went to the car wash, vacuumed the car out, add air to the tires, work on Christmas lists for family and friends, get my work outfit ready for tomorrow, and write to all of you. Goes to show you all that I am usually busy every single day.

Well, gotta go. Got supper to make and chat with some family and friends. As for Thanksgiving, I will be working, which is cool. See ya everyone and write back on what has been happening with all of you. Deuces y'all.

P.S. I saw on E-Bay that there is a copy of Joe's Additional Creations up for bids. Giving you all the heads-up.

do the stu, not knocking joe, knocking youtube. i subscribed to this and when you read the promo stuff it sounded as if he was playing a solo show. it was not until day of the show it was apparent to me that it was all of those guys. with the exception of katie perry and mike relm, i have never heard of those performers and really didn't want to see them. mike relm is an astonishing act. i have caught him on the blue man tour and his own short solo act. he is a mix master for sure. katie perry is mmmm sexy and writes some semi interesting songs and puts on a decent show from what i have gathered. i just wanted more of prof. sachafunkalis.

I bought Guns N Roses' Chinese Democracy earlier today (only $7.57 because I had a $5 Reward Zone certificate) and just finished listening to it. I jotted down a few notes and can do a full song-by-song review, but I think I'll wait until more people here have a chance to hear it before I do that. For now, I'll just make some general comments...

First, Eric Caudieux is credited twice on the album (Pro Tools engineer, additional production) and is mentioned along with his family in Axl's thanks at the end of the liner notes. Anyway...

I think some GNR fans will love this album and others will hate it, depending on what it is they like about the band. I like the album, but it's missing many of what in my mind are the band's defining characteristics. To me, GNR is memorable riffs, lots of interplay between two guitars, drums that sound big, and bass that does more than just play the root or double a guitar riff. There are examples of all of this on the album, but they're spread out over all the songs...and all of these elements are never present in the same song.

There are a lot of guitars, but the riffs are just so-so and it's rare for two guitars to be playing at the same time (and even rarer for the two parts to interact with each other). Some tracks have a full drum sound, but most of the time it's either a drum machine/sequencer or just a simple bass/snare/hi-hat.

I know Axl has ownership of the GNR name, but this really sounds like a solo album and I'd like it more if he released it under his name. A lot of songs here that are piano-driven instead of guitar-driven and rarely does the music sound like it was recorded by an actual band. I hear a lot of guitar solos pasted on top of basic song structures. And as you would probably expect, the vocals dominate the mix most of the time (to be fair, his vocal performances are very strong).

The three songs co-written with Buckethead stand out to me as some of the best. They don't necessarily sound the most GNR-like, but they are very good.

A few years ago I thought this album could be as good as the Beatles' White Album and not get the respect it deserves. After listening to it I think it's a solid effort, but I don't think it's worthy of a lot of the acclaim it'll likely receive.

I do like the album, but I have trouble connecting with it. It's been 15 years since the last GNR album and 17 years since they last wrote their own material, and that really is a long time. Two or three of the songs sound like they could be classic GNR, but most of the album is so far removed from the band I know and love that it's just hard to get into them. It sounds like Axl (I don't want to say "the band") has evolved a lot over 15 years it took to release this, but unfortunately it's a bit disorienting because we haven't heard any of the in-between steps.

In the end I think it's an album worth buying, even if you're undecided. Get it this week while it's on sale. ;-)

...Austin...

Hey, whats up Joe Finished tabbing Come on Baby and its a beautiful solo, every time i hear it i am touched by it. I am so happy that you don't go all out on solo's like some artists do on even slow songs. Absolutely amazing every song you create, i haven't heard one song that i didn't like. (I own every CD and DVD you have) Im waiting for another album, no rush to it because i know that even waiting 10 more years It will be worth it in the end.

Your concert in toronto was AMAZING and i wish you would come down more often, next time im gunna meet you and hopefully get my Ibanez s7320 Signed. You rule Joe

by the way.. i cant believe what i saw on youtube live. Would have been better if it was a guitar duel.. and to hear you as a backup was horrible concerning the other dude messed up so many times. ;) think he needs some serious teachings from the master ;) Hope to see you in toronto soon

Keep on rockin
