@ Do The Stu,

Looking forward to your thoughts on the new Rush DVD as and when you manage to get the time to sit through it all. (It was a long show! :o) )

I'm thinking of getting it in time for my annual 21/12 Rush night - only a couple of weeks away now. Ow-right.

Interesting listening to the Michael Anthony interview. Thanks for posting the links.

Hope everything's good in your neck of the woods. Cheers for now.

Do the Stu - No, I missed that post. Sorry. I have been on and off quickly lately and must have just breezed right over it.

I agree completely. the guy was a great drummer. Too bad he was very unknown. The article I read did not say how he died. Do you know what happened? He was sooooo young. Shame.

I want to hear what you thought about the Candlebox album. I have been trying to get you on them for a while now. I'm curios to hear what you think. I have mentioned here before, but I'll say it again. I'm also really impressed with their new stuff.

Three unrelated things:

I don't think this has been brought up here, but does anyone know if any T2Jers have been affected by what's been going on in Mumbai? I know a few people from India post here.

I saw Jonny Lang in concert tonight...a make-up show for a gig he postponed a few months ago because he was sick. He was very awesome, as you'd expect. He's definitely worth going to see if he plays in your area...

It looks like Surfing With The Alien will be re-released on vinyl in a few weeks:

http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?pid=7754919

GoldenGirl2 - Is There Love In Space? is my favorite Satch album...I'd love to hear your thoughts on it, whenever you get around to buying it.

Not Of This Earth is also one of my favorite Satch albums (in my top five, maybe). The recording sounds a bit dated, but the music is still top notch. Sound clips from that album seem to be missing in the music section of the site here, but you can hear a few seconds from each track over at Amazon. If you like Musterion from PSATMOR, you'll love the NOTE's title track.

loll - I'll get to the Rush DVD as soon as I can. It probably won't be for a few days, though...I'd like to watch it all in one sitting if I can. And as you said, it's long. And it's nice to see that you do the 21/12 thing. I do that here, although it doesn't have quite the same effect in the United States because it's 12/21. But still...

And yeah, that Michael Anthony interview is a good one. He sounds like such a cool guy. It's nice to hear him be so honest about everything, but it's sad at the same time because after listening to him talk about EVH I don't think there's any doubt that he's way into drugs and alcohol. Mikey talks about everything with so much detail but then he says "I'm not going to talk about that" when the substance abuse questions come up. If Eddie didn't have problems Mikey would've started those statements with "It's not drugs, but...".

maritime - I'd say we have about one more week to hear about a release date that's still before Christmas. We are cutting it close, though.

I wonder if maybe Joe was unhappy with the way it was edited? Revelation was posted here a while ago and most people on T2J were didn't like the style. I thought it looked OK as a teaser, but I don't want the whole DVD to look like that. I guess we have to wait and see...

hybes - I'll reply to you in my next post (I need to find links to those other posts I mentioned, and it'll probably be good to separate this stuff out so I don't bore other people to death...haha).

hybes - OK...

Click here for my post on Michael Lee. I have a link there to a blog post on Michael, and I also included a link to an MP3 of a cool live performance he did with Jimmy Page a few years ago.

I'm on a Led Zeppelin e-mail discussion list, and there are some people there with pretty good connections to the band. That's how I heard about his death so early...if I get any more details, I'll pass them along.

It really bugs me that his death hasn't gotten any mainstream coverage. I guess you could be pessimistic and look at him as just some drummer who played with Page and Plant and was in one of a dozen or so different Thin Lizzy touring lineups. But he played on Page and Plant's Walking Into Clarksdale, and Most High from that album won a Grammy. I work at a newspaper and I've seen some very lengthy obituaries written on people who have accomplished much less in life.

Music Radar did a short thing on Michael. It doesn't really say anything new, but I thought I'd post it here to give the site a plug because a lot of Chickenfoot info has come from there.

Click here and scroll down to the bottom for the Candlebox stuff.

When you say you like their new stuff do you mean their newest album? I haven't really paid too much attention to that one, but I heard a few clips of some random songs and they sounded like cheap rip-offs of their hits off their first album (similar rhythm to an opening guitar riff and similar effects, for example). But I should be fair and say I didn't listen to more than maybe 30 seconds of two or three songs. If you really like their newest album I'll probably give it a shot...let me know.

Thoroughly golden Milli - ITLIS is my favourite Joe CD. Some amazing stuff on there. Oh yes, we already have a wild pict here, none other than Slan the man shroomboy. LOL. The last I heard his CD Widowmaker's Highway was on sale at a reduced price, even more reason to buy it.

Which reminds me, where is the Fabulous lawyer?

Michellica - In our consumer driven society people seem to be losing respect for others and their needs. It seems to be what can I have next, how little do I have to do/pay, how much can I have, can I have more? If I can't have it right now then some mofo's gonna die! In fact somebody's gonna die anyway coz I want I want some attention! The big Boss Man in the sky must be looking down and thinking WTF is going on here?

Dunno why but recently I've been getting REALLY pissed off with all the killing going on in this world.

Sorry for the mini rant to anyone who disagrees with my thoughts.

A shooting at 'Toys r Us'? Almost as bad as a pregnant woman being mugged over here the other day, put her into labour it was that stressful.

Riviera_Grande - he played the Forum in Melbourne which is a great venue for live acts, so lets hope you can be there next time too.

Glitzy - I am in a world of pain today - went out at 7 am with a group of gals and we rode 30kms down our local bike path - felt great to finish it (2 hrs) but OMG we went to a party tonight and I couldn't even stand up!!! Had to sit down (well the heels didn't help) - I am anticipating much stiffness tomorrow.

Luckily Melbourne has a fantastic network of bike paths criss-crossing the urban area so you ride through bush and along rivers etc it is really nice early in the morning but the hills, aaarrgghhh the hills!

Just spent 2.5 hours playing my JS2K Crystal Planet. Love that guitar, the sustain is incredible and it's such a full warm sound. played heaps of stuff from every album, sorta was in a ballad mood and musthav played Ten Words about 10 times... So easy to get lost in time picking up the guitar.

Guess what was on last night? REVENGE OF THE NERDS! I was ROTFLMAO! Hair Pie, Hair Pie! - what a classic. Whoever had said 80's Joe was Booger is mean bastard, I couldn't get the image out of my head when Booger was dancing with the Moo girls with a crazy face and says "Damn, you moos sure can party!"... LMAO! I also thought Ogre reminded me of Stu! So I started looking for Jeff and Galen too!

Joe, for the record, I don't think you look like Booger. :)
